Here is a message from Bruce and Laurie Penhall that they wanted me to pass on to all of you:

We would like to thank everyone around the world for the outpouring of thoughts and prayers during this difficult time. We have taken a little time out to read some of the postings on Facebook and other social media, and are overwhelmed with your love and support.

During this extremely difficult time we are not up to taking phone calls or answering emails. We need some privacy to take care of and be with our children and extended family. We are having a private celebration of Connor’s life for his friends and family.

We really appreciate all of the lovely flowers and cards that we have received so far. At this time, in lieu of flowers, we would appreciate it if you could make a donation to Best Friends Animal Society. Connor loved his dogs and all animals, and would have loved this gesture for him. Their website is www.bestfriends.org and you can donate there or send a check made payable to Best Friends Animal Society and mail it to the address below.

Our good friend Troy Lee has designed and made bumper and helmet stickers for his Supercross and MX Team to honor Connor. For a donation in any amount made to the Best Friends Animal Society, we will send a set of the stickers to you. Please enclose a self-addressed, stamped envelope along with your donation and mail it to:

So very sorry for your loss. Will will keep you family in our thoughts and prayers. Bruce -I worked for one of your sponsors many years ago-Gaston-Dillon Co. I met you and watched you ride several times-you were really on your way. I hope that you and your family will soon be able to remember all of the wonderful things about your son Connor and maybe some of the pain will ease abit for you all.
I have thought of you often through the years-especially now as my just 6yr old Nephew won his first race tonight 07/07/12-on the Lake Perris track. His name is Mason Cassidy-and of course you and your boys are his heros.
I also thought of your's and Laurie's loss of Connor while Mason was making his run. Maybe he will act has Mason's guardian angel when he races. Maybe the thought of him looking over this little boy will help you all to remember some of the easier times. You all have a rough road ahead of you-just try to remember all of the good things-and look for Connor in your other children and grand-children. We would love for Mason to meet you some day when you all are up to it-951-206-9574-it would be wonderful for him and I think good for you all as well to see this child working so hard to do well. Take care-God be with you all during these difficult times and always.
