Heat Results
Plymouth win the toss and take gates 1 and 3.
Heat 01: Barker, Lambert, Bjerre, Cockle 50.66 3-3
Line Up: Barker, Cockle, Bjerre, Lambert
Comments: Stopped after Bjerre touches the tapes and will now go off 15m.
Re run: Even gate between Lambert and Devils pair but Barker gets the best od the 1st turn and never looked back, winning by a postcode. Bjerre looked fast and flew around Cockle bend 4 lap 2, as you were after that!

Heat 02: Graversen, Franchetti, Hughes, Glanz (R); 53.62 (2-4) 5-7
Line Up: Franchetti, Glanz, Graversen, Hughes
Comments: Glanz packed up on the start line as the others made an even break. Tight 1st turn between the lions pair and Gino with Graversen getting the best of it on the inside. Well strung out after that.
Sponsored by Steve Dixon www.stevedixonphotography.co.uk [/b]
Heat 03: Nieminen, Holder, Makinen, Fisher (Fell); 53.72 (2-4) 7-11
Line Up: Fisher, Holder, Nieminen, Makinen
Comments: Good race! Nemo made a beauty, closely followed by Fisher. Nemo seemed to open a big gap on Fisher over 1st couple of laps but then Fisher found some speed and was all over Nemo. He went inside on bend 1 lap 4 got through the gap but then on bend 2 came together with the Finn and fell. Ref let it go although some Devils fans expected a red light to come on. Tight call but probably the right one and no complaints from the Fish.

Heat 04: Gathercole, Karlsson, Hughes, Glanz; 53.10 (3-3) 10-14
Line Up: Gathercole, Glanz, Karlsson, Hughes
Comments: From the gate and easy for Gathercole.
Sponsored by Friends of Edinburgh Speedway www.foes.info/
Heat 05: Fisher, Bjerre, Lambert, Holder; 52.94 (3-3) 13-17
Line Up: Fisher, Holder, Bjerre, Lambert
Comments: Bjerre made the best jump but Fish got up the inside of him into bend 1. Fish then flew off to win well. Meanwhile at the back Holder was closing all the time on Lambert and went for the big swoop around the boards on bend 4 lap 3 only for Lambert to expertly block the run and end Holder's challenge, good ride that!
Sponsored by Splod
Heat 06: Karlsson, Barker, Cockle, Graversen; 54.03 (3-3) 16-20
Line Up: Barker, Cockle, Karlsson, Graversen
Comments: Super race! Devils gated well and Barker slowed immediately to team ride Cockle home. However Karlsson was riding the boards and kept it wound on until bend 4 lap 3 when he got around both Devils. Barker tried his all to get back passed by Karlsson, who rode a smart final bend. First PL points Barker has dropped!

Heat 07: Nieminen, Makinen, Franchetti, Gathercole (Fell); 53.57 (1-5) 17-25
Line Up: Gathercole, Franchetti, Nieminen, Makinen
Comments: Lions pair gated superbly but Gathercole gave chase and on bend 1 lap 2 went for the big swoop around the boards only to come to grief and fall. As you were after that!
Sponsored by Merlin
Heat 08: Glanz, Lambert, Hughes, Cockle; 53.84 (3-3) 20-28
Line Up: Cockle, Glanz, Lambert, Hughes
Comments: Lions gated like scalded cats but Glanz made a sneaky run up the inside on turns 1 and 2 to lead going down the back straight. As you were after that with Glanz looking much better there!
Sponsored by
Heat 09: Karlsson, Fisher, Holder, Graversen (f/ex); 52.41 (3-3) 23-31
Line Up: Fisher, Holder, Karlsson, Graversen
Comments: Race stopped. Fisher made a howler of a start but wound it on up the inside of Graversen trying pass only for Graversen to go down. Looked like Fish give him a shove but Graversen is excluded from re run. Lions fans not happy.
Re run: Karlsson with a cracking gate went straight for grip and stayed there for 4 laps. Fish tried inside and outside trying to find a way to close the gap but couldn't get near Karlsson who looked fast!!

Heat 10: Nieminen, Barker, Glanz, Makinen; 52.88 (3-3) 26-34
Line Up: Barker,Cockle Glanz, Nieminen, Makinen
Comments: Glanz replaces Cockle.
Perfection from Nemo. Gated and was away to win comfortably. The Devils pair missed the gate but got passed Makinen on the back straight of lap 1 but no catching Nemo.

Heat 11: Gathercole, Lambert, Bjerre, Franchetti; 54.37 (3-3) 29-37
Line Up: Gathercole, Franchetti, Bjerre, Lambert
Comments: Cracking race! 3 different leaders on the 1st lap alone, first Bjerre, then he went too wide on turn 3 allowing Gathercole to lead, then Lambert got up the inside of him entering lap 2 before Gathercole got back up the inside of Lambert turn 2 lap 2. As you were after that but decent race!

Heat 12: Fisher, Nieminen, Graversen, Glanz; 53.59 (3-3) 32-40
Line Up: Fisher, Glanz, Nieminen, Graversen
Comments: Fisher gated and pushed the Lions pair wide, but they just managed to shut the door on Glanz down the back straight. Fisher the rode off into the sunset for an easy win. Meanwhile super super team ride by Lions pair to shut out Glanz who was all over them for most of the race. Leicester have ridden really well tonight and deserve this lead! They're riding very intelligently and gating very well.

Heat 13: Barker, Gathercole, Karlsson, Bjerre (f/ex); 53.28 (5-1) 37-41
Line Up: Barker, Gathercole, Bjerre, Karlsson
Comments: Race stopped. Bjerre down on bend 3 whilst tussling with Barker who was on his inside and in the process took out Karlsson who was on his outside. All now up and ok but Bjerre has been excluded from the re run.
Re run: Brilliant from Barker. He and Karlsson gated together but Barker took Karlsson out to the burger van on turn 2 allowing Gathercole up the inside. Team riding all the way after that!

Heat 14: Franchetti, Holder, Makinen, Hughes; 54.10 (5-1) 42-42
Line Up: Holder, Franchetti, Makinen, Hughes
Comments: Wow! What a 1st corner!! 4 a breast going into it but the Devils pair just and I mean just got the better of it. The Devils pair team rode home. Crowd goes mental and it's last heat decider time here!

Heat 15: Barker, Gathercole, Nieminen, Karlsson (f/ex); 53.60 (5-1) 47-43
Line-up: Gathercole, Barker, Nieminen, Karlsson
Comments: Lions off 1 and 3
Race stopped. Barker having a ding dong battle with Karlsson before the Swede goes down on bend 3 lap 2. Mikey honestly reckons they wasn't contact there and the ref agreed and has excluded Karlsson. Mikey has seen them decisions go either way but genuinely its thr right call!
Re run: Gathercole made a brilliant gate to get over the top of Nemo and stop his run. Meanwhile Barker fence scrapped round the boards to join him up front. Team riding all the way superbly after that and Devils win!. Crowd going mental. Good meeting and good night from me

Comments:
Teams confirmed.
18.25: Track has passed inspection.
19.19: Riders on parade. Crowd filling up quite nicely. Chris Holder is also in attendance helping his brother
Weather: Now glorious after a few showers this afternoon but some grey clouds in the distance.
Track looks good albeit a bit wet. The bends have been ripped up on the outside although a bit slick elsewhere.
