Notes:
..Glasgow have won the coin toss and elect to go from 1 & 3 in Ht 1.
..Ht 1 and Bird made the start but had Wiltshire all over his back wheel for the 4 laps - Bird hung on to win by "about a wheel".
..Ht 1 and McAllen had engine problems on lap 2, while lying 3rd - he pulled onto the centre green, "collapsed" and then got up and walked to the pits unaided.
..Ht 2 and after a hard 1st turn the visitors race into the distance.
..Ht 3 and it's basically from the gate with Shields taking it easy on a track that is now "bumpy and dry".
..Ht 4 and after an excellent gate from the Glasgow pairing, Woodward and Wethers storm past Ksiezak on turn 2, but they can't do anything about Parker up front.
..Ht 5 and we've a re-run after Sanchez takes a heavy tumble entering turn 3 on the 2nd lap - Wiltshire was leading "by a mile" at the time.
..Ht 5 and Sanchez is okay - walked back to the pits unaided.
..Ht 5 and the racing line is "out by the fence" - Wiltshire by miles, good ride by Dicken, but Nieminen "doesn't look interested".
..Ht 6 and Cockle replaces McAllen for Glasgow - McAllen has withdrawn with a wrist injury.
..Ht 6 and it's from the gate - track very "one line" now and it's likely to be "gate and go" from here on in.
..Ht 7 and a good race at the back between Lawson and Ksiezak with the Edinburgh rider eventually prevailing.
..Ht 8 and Sanchez withdraws from the meeting with bruised ribs and is replaced by Legault, while McAllen re-enters the fray on Bird's bike.
..Ht 8 and McAllen threw a chain whilst lying 3rd on lap 3.
..Ht 9 and Nieminen takes a Tactical Ride for Glasgow (strange to be using the "old" format but the "new" tactical rules - would've been better for Glasgow to have been using the "old" tactical rules and allowing extra outings for Bird and Parker).
..Ht 9 and great 1st-2nd turns see Nieminen squeeze through a gap that wasn't there to overtake the visiting pairing.
..Ht 10 and McAllen has now withdrawn from the meeting and will be replaced by Kzieszak in this race.
..Ht 10 and Lawson passed Ksiezak on turn 3 to claim 3rd place behind the fast-starting Bird and Shields.
..Ht 11 and Wethers will replace Sanchez.
..Ht 11 and the race of the meeting so far as Parker and Wethers exchange passes during the 3rd and 4th laps, with Parker just having enough drive from the final turn to take 2nd.
..Ht 12 and we've "absolute nonsense" as both Woodward and Shields turn up at the tapes wearing a green helmet colour. And while the starting marshal wondered what to do, the referee excluded Shields for failing to beat the 2 minutes - Shields is replaced by Wethers.
..And Ht 13 is finally run after a series of lengthy interviews and it's looking like a good race between Parker and Wiltshire, until Wiltshire hits the notorious "ridge" on turn 3 and settles for 2nd.
..Ht 14 and it's Parker ( R )-Bird ( B ) for Glasgow and Shields ( G )-Wiltshire ( Y ) for the Rest of the World - thus ensuring, hopefully, no helmet colour mistakes this time around.
..Ht 14 and an "phenomenal" start by Bird sees him take the lead, but Wiltshire chases hard and just fails to pip the Tiger's No 1 on the line.
