Line Up: Morley, Basford, Perry, Bewley
Comments: From the gate.

Heat 02: Purchase, Saul, Lawlor. Govier (FX). 4-2, 7-5 63.28
Line Up: Lawlor, Purchase, Saul, Govier
Comments: Stopped. Govier tried to dive bomb Purchase into turn 3 lap 1 but he did it half off the gas and straightened up. Purchase did well to avoid being taken out. 21st says he must have a target on the side of his bike haha. Govier excluded.
Re-Run: Saul made a super start but he was all over the show trying to stay on. Purchase was quicker but he common sense and survival instinct kicked in. He followed cautiously and passed on the last lap.

Heat 03: Chessell, Smart, Basford, Saul. 4-2, 11-7 59.25
Line Up: Chessell, R/R - Basford, Smart, R/R - Saul
Comments: Chessell made the start but he was making 21st nervous by going dangerously close to the fence at times. Initially Basford reacted well from the gate but he lifted badly. He got into third off the first turn and tried chasing down Smart. Smart pulled away and with Chessell drifting out, Smart closed in to a couple of lengths.

Heat 04: Clegg, Cockle, Govier, Purchase. 3-3, 14-10 58.50
Line Up: Clegg, Purchase, Cockle (off 15m), Govier
Comments: Cockle causes actual bodily harm to the starting tapes and will go off a 15m handicap.
Re-Run: Clegg by a mile. Purchase levelled off in second place. Cockle was quickly into third and chasing hard. He dive bombed Purchase beautifully into turn 3 lap 2. Purchase was then struggling to turn and Govier came through.

Heat 05: Bewley, Perry, Chessell, Lawlor. 1-5, 15-15 57.44
Line Up: Chessell, R/R - Lawlor, Perry, Bewley
Comments: IOW all the way from the gate. Perry out gated Chessell! Chessell chased hard and got onto Perry after two laps. 21st heard a pop from somebody's bike and he assumes it was Chessell as he backed off turn 2 last lap and rolled around for the point.
Sponsored by Splod
Heat 06: Morley, Cockle, Basford, Saul. 4-2, 19-17 57.94
Line Up: Morley, Basford, Cockle, Saul
Comments: Morley all the way. A super effort by Basford who went around the outside on bend 1. It looked like he'd rounded the visitors for second place but he just over turned a little and Cockle had 2nd stitched up.

Heat 07: Bewley, Clegg, Smart, Lawlor. 2-4, 21-21 57.28
Line Up: Clegg, Lawlor, Smart, R/R - Bewley
Comments: Bewley was like the proverbial scalded cat from the start. Clegg made a mistake at the end of the backstraight which fired him past the turn. 21st thought he was going down but Clegg saved it. Smart passed on the inside only for Clegg to square it off out wide and fire himself back into 2nd off turn 4. Bewley was a mile clear already after a lap. To his credit Clegg got his head down and chased every lap but he gave just too much away on lap 1. Bewley sublime up front.

Heat 09: Cockle, Chessell, Purchase, Saul. 3-3, 27-27 59.32
Line Up: Chessell, R/R - Purchase, Cockle, Saul
Comments: A good start by Cockle and he never put a wheel wrong. Chessell tried to give it the big one on the first turn but Cockle just squeezed the space nicely. Chessell lost ground midrace but then made it up to be close at the end. Purchase is gating as best as he can and clinging on for some useful points. 21st says the rain is edging in too late to save the Heathens!

Heat 10: Morley, Cockle, Smart, Basford. 3-3, 30-30 59.47
Line Up: Morley, Basford, Smart, R/R - Cockle
Comments: What a ride! Morley rode an absolutely shocking first lap. Truly dreadful and he was dead last. Morley moved into third going into lap 2. He chased Smart down and passed him inside a lap later and set about chasing Cockle who was still well clear at that point. Morley steamed under Cockle on the last turn and moved him out the way. Basford came from nowhere at the back on the last lap and rode a good race to end on Smart's back wheel.

Heat 11: Clegg, Perry, Lawlor, Bewley (fell, rem). 4-2, 34-32 57.25
Line Up: Clegg, Lawlor, Perry, Bewley
Comments: Clegg all the way after he made a lightning start. 21st reckons Cleggy knew he needed that one! Bewley fell turn 1 lap 2 from 3rd place and remounted to finish. Perry chased hard without getting in contention to challenge for first place. Lawlor is largely off the pace but riding safe and steady.

Roynon is being interviewed and he's the first rider confirmed for the Golden Hammer.
Heat 12: Chessell, Smart, Purchase, Govier. 4-2, 38-34 61.15
Line Up: Chessell, Purchase, Smart,Saul Govier
Comments: Chessell all the way with an important win. Purchase gated with him but Smart immediately got the better of him on the first turn. Purchase was again struggling so badly with his injuries but he just hung on for important points.

Heat 13: Perry, Clegg, Morley, Cockle. 3-3, 41-37 58.90
Line Up: Morley, Clegg, Perry, Cockle
Comments: What a race! Cockle gated well enough to get over Morley. Perry made a better start than Clegg and did a trademark move around the outside to storm past the Heathens duo down the back straight as the Warriors were out on a 5-1. The Heathens charged in hard on Cockle turn 3 as Perry went high. All 4 levelled up coming off bend 4, but somehow there was no contact. Clegg moved into third. Morley then came into third as the Heathens took a couple of laps to sort themselves out. Lap 3 turn 1 and Clegg strapped on a pair and went big to storm around Cockle. As Cockle was still wondering where that came from, Morley divebombed him into turn 3. Clegg gave chase on the last lap but Perry had done enough to get clear. A brilliant race and a superb ride by Perry to secure an important heat win for the visitors.

Heat 14: Clegg, Smart, Purchase, Govier. 4-2, 45-39 58.97
Line Up: R/R - Clegg, Lawlor, R/R - Smart, Govier
Comments: Heathens were quick from the gate but Purchase was struggling to turn normally. Which allowed Smart into second on the first turn. Purchase with another brave performance to secure a vital point, and me and 21st agree that he is the match winner tonight.

Heat 15: Perry, Morley, Clegg, Bewley. 3-3, 48-42 58.15
Line-up: Morley, Clegg, Bewley, Perry
Comments: A sensational race to end the night. Perry made a clean start and a super first turn. Morley was hot on the heels on the inside and looking for his favourite move tonight (the divebomb). Clegg was winding it on around the outside, even wider than Perry! Clegg took 2nd and had the run on Perry, only for Perry to squeeze him hard but fair to the back straight fence. Clegg almost binned it on the last turn which allowed Bewley back in the race very late on. Morley hugged the kerb on the last turn and there was only a few inches in it for 1st place on the line. Bewley almost out dragged Clegg to the line (half a length short of stealing a point). As the meeting ends, it's just started to rain. A good meeting and 21st says the IOW deserve a to take something for their efforts.
