Live commentary of this meeting is available on BBC WM DAB and online from 7pm.
Had an heavy rain shower for about half hour from 6:30pm, which has stopped now, and has left the track quite wet, track work taking place now.
7:25pm: 15/20 mins delay to allow puddles to drain and track to dry a little more from the rain.
7:43pm: Water must be draining down the banking on the turns as the inside is now wetter again. In fact puddles are beginning to reform. Not seen that before!

Line Up: Morris, R/R - Cupitt, L Dicken, O'Keefe
Comments: Morris by at least a full straight. Dicken best part of a straight clear in 2nd. Cupitt very comfortable in 3rd. Track seemed to ride well with all giving it some respect and doing nothing daft.

Heat 02: Re-Run: Awarded: Basford, Geary, Rutherford, B Andrews - Fell / Excluded 3-3 (7-5)
Line Up: Basford, B Andrews, Geary, Rutherford
Comments: Unsatisfactory start, Rutherford has destroyed the tapes, he goes off 15 metres in the re-run. Start line team have been put on 2 minutes by the referee. Start marshall excluded for exceeding the 2 minutes They've just given up trying to repair Rutherford's mess made of them and are replacing them with a new set. Three riders sat by the pit gate. Rutherford is sat at 15 metres preparing his start position. Fair play, he's taking it seriously.
Re-Run: Basford all the way by a mile. Andrews gated with him but rode a tentative opening lap. Geary more committed passed inside off bend 4 for 2nd. Andrews 3rd binned it bend 1 lap 4. Red lights came on and then a few seconds later Rutherford put himself into the bottom of the fence off bend 4 lap 4. Both lads okay. Rutherford still gets the point as was still on bike when race stopped.

Heat 03: Basford, Chessell, O'Keefe, Perks - Engine Failure 5-1 (12-6) 65.8 (R Andrews - 2 Minutes / Excluded)
Line Up: Chessell,R Andrews - 2 Minutes Basford, Perks, R/R - O'Keefe
Comments: R Andrews excluded for missing the 2 minutes as bike wouldn't start. Basford replaces him in the re-run.
Re-Run: Unsatisfactory start, Perks destroys the tapes and will go off 15 metres in the re-run.
Re-Run X2: Chessell jumped it and nearly had to duck under the tapes. Basford went with him. Perks into 3rd but placed up coming off bend 4 lap 1. Chessell rode every corner worse than the previous one and Basford passed him to win by a straight. Chessell barely turning just held on to 2nd. Perks packed up at the back.

Heat 04: Clegg, Blacklock, Rutherford, B Andrews 3-3 (15-9) 61.8
Line Up: Clegg, B Andrews, Blacklock, Rutherford
Comments: Even break but Clegg made the most committed entry to bend 1. He's was a mile clear when suddenly slowed end of lap 2. Put hand up to indicate slowing. He looked around and suddenly got going again. We think the sun is hitting one of the red lights and Clegg thought the race had been stopped. Checking it on now. Hopefully while grading takes place the sun moves around enough not to be an issue. Rutherford made a mess of the bottom bend lap 1 to allow B Andrews through into 3rd. He then rode a stormed to come from an awfully long way back to catch and then pass B Andrews on bends 1 and 2 lap 4 for 3rd.

Heat 05: Chessell, L Dicken, R Andrews, O'Keefe 4-2 (19-11) 60.7
Line Up: Chessell, R Andrews, L Dicken, O'Keefe
Comments: Well spread out. Chessell on it this time. Maybe a bike problem or something like losing his foot rest might explain his first ride.

Heat 06: Morris, Geary, Cupitt, Blacklock - Fell / Remounted 4-2 (23-13) 59.6
Line Up: Morris, R/R - Cupitt, Blacklock, Geary
Comments: Well spread out again. Blacklock slipped off from a comfortable 2nd on bends 1 and 2 lap 2. Jumped straight up to finish the race.

Heat 07: Re-Run: Clegg, Perks, Basford 4-2 (27-15) 58.8 (Rutherford - Fell / Excluded)
Line Up: Clegg, Basford, Perks, R/R - Rutherford
Comments: Race Stopped. Rutherford fell on bend 1. Basford did well to lay it down and miss him. Looked like Rutherford thanked him. Rutherford is excluded from the re-run.
Re-Run: Again well spread out Clegg was flying. I think we were just a tad fortunate. Tight heading into bend 1 between Clegg and Ellis off gates 1 and 2. Clegg seemed to him to give Ellis a slight nudge. Had Ellis gone down, which he could easily have done on tonight's tricky track, then Clegg could easily have gone.

Heat 08: R Andrews, Rutherford, B Andrews, Geary 4-2 (31-17) 61.4
Line Up: R/R - R Andrews, B Andrews,O'Keefe Geary, Rutherford
Comments: Think the referee must be getting fed up of it. Rutherford jumped that start by about 20 seconds!! Stunning first bend by R Andrews to storm around him int he dirt. B Andrews rode a steady ride to hang on to 3rd as Geary got closer each lap. Good point for B Andrews who has had to relearn everything he thought he knew about British Speedway on tonight's wet and heavy track.

Heat 09: Chessell, R Andrews, Blacklock, Rutherford 5-1 (36-18) 61.8
Line Up: Chessell, R Andrews, Blacklock,Geary Rutherford
Comments: Unsatisfactory start, Rutherford has destroyed the tapes again. He is going off 15 metres in the re-run.
Re-Run: Chessell with a good start and comfortable up front. Looked close between R Andrews or Blacklock for 2nd initially but the later made a slightly mistake to allow Heathens to get away down the backstraight. Blacklock got back in contention got R Andrews didn't put a wheel wrong. There's a dryer and smoother line around the inside now that they're all sensibly sticking to. It's very deep and heavy from mid track out.

Heat 10: Morris, Perks, Blacklock, Cupitt 3-3 (39-21) 60.2
Line Up: Morris, R/R - Cupitt, Perks, R/R - Blacklock
Comments: Well spread out after lap 1. Perks made a good start and rode a good first bend. He overlocked it a bit coming off bend 4 lap 1 and Morris took the chance. He went to the kerb through water and steamed through.

Heat 11: Clegg, L Dicken, O'Keefe, Basford - Fell / Remounted 3-3 (42-24) 59.8
Line Up: Clegg, Basford, L Dicken, O'Keefe
Comments: Clegg missed it but immediately blasted around L Dicken. Basford thought about chucking one up the inside of L Dicken on bend 1 but went off this earlier at the apex and laid down trying to miss him. He got up to carry on over a straight behind O'Keefe. He charged after him and was challenging on the last turn. He missed out by half a bike length on the finish line,. Terrific effort to those it all in for the chance of a point from so far back.

Heat 12: Perks, Chessell, B Andrews, Geary 3-3 (45-27) 59.9
Line Up: Chessell, B Andrews, Perks, Geary
Comments: Super start by Perks. Has to be to beat Chessell away! He's ridden a super ride under pressure for 2 laps. Chessell was all over him for 2 laps as he went a touch wider than Perks and had the back wheel kissing the edge of the dirt that's built up. He then went too deep into it and I think it's so heavy it slowed him a little rather then him getting more grip from it. Good effort through and for two laps some proper racing up front. B Andrews again riding steady after a good first bend to claim 3rd.

Heat 13: Morris, Clegg, Blacklock, L Dicken - Fell 5-1 (50-28) 61.4
Line Up: Morris, Clegg, L Dicken, Blacklock
Comments: Heathens all the way. L Dicken fell on his own the heavy dirt bend 1 lap 2. Clegg outside in the dirt and Morris inside as usual. Very heavy there for Clegg and it was slowing him. Morris just backing off to sit inside him as they were a mile ahead. Clegg shut off early to let Morris cross the finish line first.

Heat 14: Rutherford, Basford, R Andrews, K Dicken 3-3 (53-31) 62.8
Line Up: R Andrews, Basford, R/R - , Rutherford
Comments: Rutherford all the way and a long way clear. Super ride to end his interesting night. R Andrews went wide in the dirt lap 1 with brave effort in the deep stuff. Tried it again bends 1 and 2 lap 2 and the bike nearly pulled him into the backstraight fence. Basford almost followed him in but levelled out down the backstraight to take 2nd. Well spread out.

Heat 15: Morris, Clegg, Perks, Dicken - Fell 5-1 (58-32) 60.1
Line-up: Morris, Clegg, Perks, L Dicken
Comments: Clegg with a stunning opening half lap. Put it on the edge of the dirt and held on to pull a mile clear already. He took off into the night. L Dicken rode a good first bend and Morris had to go harder into bend 3 then he likely expected he would. L Dicken got himself in trouble in the dirt and fell. Very much to his absolute disgust with himself. He got up to clear the track then chucked the bike on the centre green and said something very rude to himself for a 2nd time. With a lap and half to go Clegg started to look back to see where Morris was. He slowed a dramatically to allow Morris to catch him and nick the full maximum on the line. Really tricky track tonight and credit to both teams for handling it well with no major incidents.
