Comments: Lebedevs moves Gomolski out on the opening bends creating a gap for Miedzinski to nip into second. Klindt all out of shape on the opening bends which more or less ends his race. Klindt gained ground on Gomolski but couldn't find a way past. Lebedevs moves off the inside on the final bend and Miedzinski comes through to take the win.

Comments: Three abreast going into bend 3 lap 1 but it's Bjerre who emerges in front coming off bend 4 and that's where he stays. Miedzinski all over Jepsen Jensen, attempts to go round him on the final bend but lifts and has to knock off the gas. Miedzinski stays on and in third as Lahti is too far back to capitalise.

Comments: Karpov has bike troubles before the start and is excluded for failing to make the 2 minutes. After much confusion, no replacement is forthcoming. Pawlicki gates and holds on under pressure from Jepsen Jensen.
Lebedevs has bike troubles at the end of lap 2 and coasts round.

Comments: Stopped. Unsatisfactory Start. All 4 Back.
Re-Run: Kudrashov makes a great gate but runs a little wide off bend 2 and is almost passed by Bellego. Kudrashov stays wide going into bend 3 lap 1 and has enough to hold on to the lead. Smolinski goes round Bellego at the end of lap 1 and chases after Kudrashov. Smolinski just squeezes past Kudrashov on the run to the line. Miedzinski must have had his fuel turned off and was a long way back.
