Heat Results
Heat 01: Ayres, Bowen, Andrews, Lawlor - Engine Failure 3-3 56.44
Line Up: Ayres, Lawlor, Bowen, Andrews
Comments: Fantastic gate by Ayres and he was away and gone. Untroubled Lawlor packed up on bend 2 lap 1. Somebody help this kid sort his kit out.

Heat 02: Re-Run: Dwyer, Rose, Burton 4-2 (7-5) 59.00 (Clifton - Fell / Excluded)
Line Up: Dwyer, Burton, Clifton, Rowe
Comments: Race Stopped. Clifton down and excluded. Looks nasty but won't say too much yet other then he waved an arm immediately so was conscious. Clifton made a good start and led. Heathens threatened to get under him as he went wide off bend 2 but he levelled off. Dwyer got a run on him off gate 4 and made the pass on bends 1 & 2 lap 2. Clifton went wide over the camber where the backstraight fence used to be and from there I've seen many a rider get sucked in. The track drops away a touch toward the fence and only lady luck can save you at that point. As an aside Rowe did well not to run straight into Dwyer off bend 4 lap 1. A 'nearly' moment for him. Clifton has withdrawn from the meeting. It has been announced as a serious injury, waiting for an ambulance for Clifton to be transferred to hospital. Best wishes to Clifton for better news later then currently looks the case. Okay, the gist of what was circulating the terrace now confirmed and even worse sadly. Clifton has unfortunately got a serious injury to his femur, tibia and fibula with ribs injuries and reported. Terrible news. We're just waiting for Clifton to be transferred. May not be too much longer. Tractors are out for the first time since the crash. The other ambulance has arrived. Sounds as through the transfer has taken place and medical staff are now making their way back to the track. Shouldn't be long now.
Re-Run: Looked like the Heathens have got away but good first bend and backstraight by Rowe to secure 2nd. Well spread out.

Heat 03: Thomas, Hopwood, Harris, Greenwood 1-5 (8-10) 58.37
Line Up: Greenwood, Harris, Hopwood, Thomas
Comments: Cracking start and super ride by Thomas all the way. Greenwood made a pigs ear of it. Thought Harris might challenge Thomas bends 3 & 4 lap 1 but Hopwood rode a super bend to go around him. Kings pulled clear, super heat for them.
Sponsored by andout www.canadianspeedway.com
Heat 04: Perry, Stoneman, Burton, Rowe 4-2 (12-12) 57.87
Line Up: Perry, Burton, Stoneman, Rowe
Comments: Stoneman and Perry away first with the King's rider just ahead. Forced Perry to rearrange his travel plans by putting a bit of a locker on bend 1. Stoneman led backstraight. Perry pulled offf a perfect Monmore cut back off bend 4 and stormed under Stoneman on bend 1 lap 2 for the lead. Yes, I said Perry and under in the same sentence, . Rowe missed it terribly and try as he may he couldn't make it up. Vital point for Burton.

Heat 05: Bowen, Greenwood, Harris, Andrews - Fell, remounted 3-3 (15-15) 57.38
Line Up: Greenwood, Harris, Bowen, Andrews
Comments: Bowen all the way after a lovely 1st/2nd bend in the edge of the dirt. Greenwood got close lap 2 but lost a few bike lengths. Lovely move by Harris inside Andrews bend 4 lap 1. Andrews slipped off going into bend 1 lap 4 but got up to finish.
Sponsored by Splod
Heat 06: Ayres, Rowe, Stoneman, Lawlor 3-3 (18-18) 57.75
Line Up: Ayres, Lawlor, Stoneman,Clifton Rowe
Comments: From the gate. Class of 1 by Ayres. Handy ride for Rowe in that one.

Heat 07: Perry, Hopwood, Thomas, Dwyer 3-3 (21-21) 57.31
Line Up: Perry, Dwyer, Hopwood, Thomas
Comments: From the gate although Thomas gave it a go around the outside bends 1 & 2 Hopwood came past him bend 4 lap 1. Track Grading.

Heat 08: Andrews, Burton, Dwyer, Rose 3-3 (24-24) 60.81
Line Up:Lawlor Dwyer, Burton, Andrews, Rowe
Comments: Rowe missed it badly again but Dwyer went so wide he made it up and passed for 3rd on backstraight. Up front Burton piled all sorts of pressure on Andrews end got level with him twice on the outside off bend 2 laps 2 and 3 but wasn't quite enough room. On lap 2 off bend 2 Dwyer did the same move but found just enough room to squeeze around Rowe. Vital by both teams to secure a shared heat there.

Heat 09: Greenwood, Harris, Stoneman - Fell / Remounted 5-1 (29-25) 58.31
Line Up: Greenwood, Harris, Stoneman,Clifton
Comments: 3 riders only.
Super by the Heathens. San had a word with Harris and I called plan A straight away. Harris off 2 gated over Stoneman and camped him down. Greenwood came around Stoneman did about a 270" turn and slipped off. He was straight up and completed the race. Could be a crucial max for the Heathens.

Heat 10: Ayres, Hopwood, Thomas, Lawlor 3-3 (32-28) 57.75
Line Up: Ayres, Lawlor, Hopwood, Thomas

Heat 11: Bowen, Perry, Dwyer, Andrews - Fell 3-3 (35-31) 56.68
Line Up: Perry, Dwyer, Bowen, Andrews
Comments: Perry with a shocker left himself far too much to do. Bowen looking as classy as you'd except at this level made no mistake up front. He was well clear and wheel perfect. Two rides in a row Andrews has visibly got frustrated with himself for a small mistake and then promptly fell off. Needs to concentrate and not let it get to him. Riding well enough that apart.

Heat 12: Burton, Greenwood, Rowe, Hopwood - Engine Failure 5-1 (40-32) 59.69
Line Up: Greenwood, Burton, Hopwood,Clifton Rowe
Comments: Wow what a heat result that is for us. Lighting gate by the Heathens but particularly Burton. Must be the gate of his life. Hopwood packed up bend 2 lap 1 whilst 3rd. Sensible ride by Greenwood. Had a good look around several times and when he quickly realised there was no pressure he backed round got off and took 2nd at half throttle leaving Burton to take his line. Track Grading.

Heat 13: Perry, Bowen, Ayres, Stoneman 4-2 (44-34) 57.19
Line Up: Ayres, Perry, Bowen, Stoneman
Comments: Wow shocker here. All 4 riders were at the tapes phatting around as they do. Start marshall trying to get them all up to tapes. Stoneman excluded for exceeding the 2 minutes and will go off 15 metres in the re-run.
Re-Run: What an opening lap that is. Ayres away with Bowen trying the outside opening bend. Stormer by Perry to get around him and lead into a tight bend 3. Heathens on a 5-1 going in but Bowen strapped on a pair and rode between the pair of them as they rode around the bottom bend. Damn near pulled it off but Perry just held on around the outside. Ayres tried a big dive bomb next lap but Bowen held 2nd.

Heat 14: Thomas, Harris, Dwyer, Rowe 3-3 (47-37) 59.50
Line Up: Harris, Dwyer, Thomas, Rowe
Comments: Thomas made the best of a tight first bend and led all the way. Pulled away after a lap or so in which Harris chucked it all in. Track has obviously dried out and become very slick and dusty after such a long warm evening so you need something special to chase someone down now.

Heat 15: (Bowen - Fell / Excluded)
Line-up: Ayres, Perry, Bowen, Thomas
Comments: Race Stopped. Bowen fell and excluded, Bit of a messy first bend with riders all switching lines. Thomas rode a sensational first and second bend to head the field down the backstraight. Bowen was last going into bend 3 but committed to the outside of Ayres as Ayres turn back under Thomas. All 3 steamed into bend 1 lap 2 with Ayres just ahead of Thomas now. Think Bowen must have turned in on a slick patch. I was slightly unsighted but didn't appear je and Thomas were close enough for contact. Certainly referee has no hesitation slamming the white light on so as sure as can be as he fell of his own accord. Bowen is excluded. Delighted to say Bowen is up and walking away. He is through complaining of some pain in the top of his shoulder. Made areas of the air fence. 10pm fast approaching, unless we have both riders excluded that fall for Bowen means Kent can't take a point. Meeting awarded after 14 heats.
Absolutely delighted with the points as I knew we would be pushed hard tonight. Still, thoughts very much with Clifton though. If anyone reading knows him please pass on my best wishes as he faces a long recovery by the sounds of it.
