Ayres just edged it on the inside off bend 2. Clegg committed to the outside on Perry's line and rode beautifully around Ayres. Ayres had a nibble back but Clegg quickly stamped his authority.

Heat 12: Greenwood, Geary, Rutherford, Kinsley 4-2 (47-25) 58.4

Heat 13: Re-Run: Clegg, Perry, Williamson, Ayres (Fx) 2-4 (49-29) 57.2
Line Up: Ayres, Perry, Williamson, Clegg
Comments: Big crash, Ayres excluded. That could have been very much worse. Cant tell you how lucky they are but clearly Clegg & Perry's skill in dropping their bike so fast was obviously a factor. Extra time for Clegg to sort bike.
Re-Run: What a race!!! Perry brilliant round Williamson bends 1 and 2, Clegg quickly set sail. They again commit to their favours line with a terrific race to the flag. Clegg by a tyre width.

Heat 15: Clegg, Ayres, Perry, Williamson 3-3 (55-35) 57.6
Line-up: Ayres, Perry, Williamson, Clegg
Comments: Amazing race again. Thought Perry was away but Ayres got there and Williamson came off bend 2 in 2nd. Perry rounded Williamson bends 3 and 4. Clegg under Williamson off bend 4 and he thought he might get Perry too, Perry held on to 2nd on the outside. Clegg then got Perry inside as they both closed on Ayres back wheel. Perry a bit trapped behind Ayres as he got super speed on the dirt. Clegg charging up the inside with nothing between all 3. Clegg got his nose ahead but Ayres kept coming on the outside. Level between the two with Perry on their back wheel. Clegg in to turn 3 ahead last lap but Ayres gave it one more big handful and came around Clegg. Run to the line and Ayres had the speed but Clegg just held on by a tyre. Superb Stuff.
