It is with a huge amount of sadness that I have to report that a good friend to me personally and a supporter of this site has passed away after a battle with cancer.
We had kept in contact after his involvement with the site ended via private message and once or twice in person and I was devastated when he told me what he was facing and the treatment he was receiving. His last message at the end of July was particularly distressing as he informed me it would be his last message as he was too weak for further treatment and not strong enough to continue messaging or reading my messages .
Rest in peace Andrew, I enjoyed our battles in the early years of this site and the friendship that grew out of those battles...I will miss you.

I'd not spoken to him in years but had some really, really fantastic conversations with him over a variety of topics. Sadly, I never got the chance to meet him in person though it was in the pipeline on more than one occasions. RIP My Friend. You will be missed.

His views on the world were sometimes "out there",but on the whole I thought he was a decent sort of chap,RIP Subedei.

Very sorry to hear this. He was one of these offbeat characters who is always interesting.
I still use his WWOS to check rider records. Type eg "Speedway Les Collins wwos" and google brings up the career record.

I've only just seen this post and it sent a cold shiver down my spine.
RIP Andrew, it was a pleasure to know you and I have no doubt you went out with a satisfied smile on your face, knowing you'd ruffled a few feathers on the way.
Job done mate..........it would never have been the same without you!!!

Obviously a highly intelligent guy and I know lots of people liked him but I saw his other side when I was an admin of the BSF many years ago. He didn't suffer fools gladly and he delighted in belittling people who disagreed with him when ever he felt like it. "Quarter wit" I seem to recall being one of his favourite put downs. I had some memorable run ins with him when all I was trying to do was keep the peace but I kept failing. Probably if I met him I would have quite liked him but he did make my online life interesting for a while. I'd never wish an early demise on anyone though, and my condolences to friends and family.
