Comments:
Teams now confirmed from track.
Referee is Dan Holt
Track: is wet, they are putting down sawdust now.
Aces win the toss and take gates 1&3
Congratulations to Jason Crump who broke the track record in Heat 1 54.9 seconds!
Heat 1: Crump won by half the straight, Nicholls missed the gate and got past Forsberg on the 4th bend of lap 1.
Heat 2: From the gate and ETFC says that it was probably the most boring heat of speedway he has seen in his life.
Heat 3: From the gate. Woodward fell on the 4th bend of lap 3 and then on bend 4 of lap 4 and retired, he is ok, just damaged pride.
Heat 4: From the gate. Brundle pushed Suchanek but never looked like passing him (ETFC is sighing!)
Heat 5: Stopped. Woodward fell on the 3rd bend of lap 2 after pressure from Crump and is excluded. ETFC says that it was the right decision to exclude Woody. Forsberg fell on the 2nd bend of lap 1 but remounted.
Rerun: From the gate. Crump is flying tonight and won by a comfy distance. Looked very quick for the first two laps then slowed.
Heat 6: Easy win for the Eagles from the gate.
Heat 7: Stopped. Gjedde fell on the 4th bend of lap 1 and is excluded. He is up and ok.
Bridger is being interviewed, he said that he is using a normal set up and the track is binding well with the sawdust that has been put down. He also says that the track record wont be broken for a while.
Rerun: From the gate, pretty spread out. ETFC thinks that Gustafsson would have had a field day today.
Crump now being interviewed, he said that he scared himself a couple of times in that record heat. He then praised Bob Dugard and said it doesnt suprise him what he can do with a track.
Heat 8: Bridger fell on the 4th bend of lap 1 when leading, Suchanek was pressing Brundle all the way.
Heat 9: The Eagles best pairing back on song. Rajkowski was third for 2 laps but looked a little wild.
Heat 10: Stopped. Bridger fell on the 2nd bend of lap 1 and is excluded from the rerun.
Rerun: also stopped, Gjedde touches the tapes and will go off 15m in the restart. 2nd Rerun: Nicholls by a mile.
Heat 11: Easy win for Crump. Werner off the pace big time. Taxi for Werner.
Heat 12: From the gate. Brundle rushing Gjedde for two laps.
Heat 13: Kennett through on the inside of Screen on the second bend of lap 1. Crump flying from the gate.
Heat 14: Brundle replaces the (in ETFC's words) slow Werner. Woodward by a country mile, Brundle pushed Jankowski all the way to the line.
Heat 15: Line-up:Nicholls Kennett Crump Gjedde Eagles win the toss and take gates 1&3.
It has just been announced that the winner of the junior racing in the 2nd half tonight will get a place in the inter league meeting against the Isle of Wight next week.
Great race between Nicholls and Crump, Scott matched Jason all the way, ETFC is pleased that there is no maximum for Jason at Arlington.
We are going to carry on with the Juniors (I think) if anyone is interested.
Congratulations to the Eagles on the win and many thanks to ETFC for the excellent texts tonight
