Comments:
Teams now confirmed from trackside.
Just heard from the texter that they have had a lot of rain over the last 20 minutes or so, good news is that it is looking brighter in the distance. Fingers crossed that it does brighten up!
Teams are out on parade. There will be no interval tonight.
Pirates win the toss and take gates 1&3. ETFC says that it is very very cold tonight!
Heat 1: Pirates pair from the gate.
Heat 2: Eagles pair gated, Eriksson passed Brundle on bend two of lap 3, Brundle pushed hard to the line.
Heat 3: Skornicki to take RR. Race stopped, Watt and Skornicki both fell. All four back, no one touched Watt who fell first. ETFC thinks that it was an interesting decision to say the least. From the gate.
Heat 4: Eagles pair gated on a 5-1 but the Pirates pair got past Brundle, same move, inside and outside.
Heat 5: Eagles pair gated on a 5-1 and was never under any real pressure.
Heat 6: Bridger went round the outside of them all on bends 1&2. Holder fell on bend 2 of lap 1.
Heat 7: Holder to take RR. Brundle reserve replacement for Gustafsson. Kennett from tapes to flag, easy win. Brundle well last, probably the last time we see him tonight.
Heat 8: Gustafsson reserve replacement for Brundle. Bridger round the outside on bends 1&2 of lap 1, easy win.
Heat 9: Easy max for the Eagles. Scary moment for Woodward on bend 2 of lap 2 as he went very close to the bend.
Heat 10: Eriksson to take RR. Watt fell on bend 3 of lap 1 and is excluded, ETFC says that it was quite right as well even though Davey never agreed. Easy max for the Eagles pair.
Heat 11: Pedersen to take a TR. Gustafsson fell on bend 1 of lap 1, all four back. Heat 11 stopped. Skornicki seemed to ride straight into the side of Kennett, Gustafsson also fell. Gustafsson, Skornicki and Kennett all up and walking. Interval being taken early. Waiting to see what is going to happen about outcome of the heat. Update, apparently Kennett picked up some grip and lifted. ETFC says that it looked different from his position. Both bikes are wrecked and Kennett has gone to receive further medical treatment. Kennett is now back in the pits, it appears that he has withdrawn from the meeting. Kennett is excluded from the re-run that will take place after the interval.
ETFC says that it is extremely ( ) freezing now and that he doesnt think that he has ever been that damn cold before. Meeting should be restarting in a couple of minutes.
Rerun of Heat 11: From the gate, Pirates pair did enough to get an easy maximum.
Heat 12: Gustafsson reserve replacement for Brundle. From the gate. ETFC cant believe that Gustafsson didnt beat Suchecki and that he never even challenged him
Heat 13: Brundle taking ride for Kennett. Nicholls went past Pedersen on bend 1 of lap 2 on the inside. Holder never challenged by Brundle.
Heat 14: Watt in as a tactical substitute off 15m, replaces the RR. Gustafsson retired. ETFC is not sure if Gustafsson had bike problems or just bottled it when Watt pressed him.
Heat 15: Nicholls Richardson Pedersen Watt Eagles win the toss and take gates 1&3. Unsatisfactory start, all four back. Wass appeared to move at the start. Easy maximum for Eastbourne, great team riding from Nicholls for looking and letting Richardson through.
Many thanks to ETFC for the texts tonight. Thank you all for looking in and good night.
