Workington win toss take 1 and 3.
Heat 1: Harrison R/R. James From Gate. Harrison went wide bend 2 lap 1 after good start letting Reima through into 2nd.
Heat 2: Smethills from Gate Birkinshaw round Charles bend 4 lap 1 then fell remounted bend 3 lap 2 trying to round Branney.
Heat 3: Lyons just edged round Haines 1st bend, Nieminen round Haines bend 4 lap 1, Harrison fell bend 2 lap 4 while last.
Heat 4: Brum gated and led by 20yards after lap 1 before Stoney pulled off a cracking ride to go inside Watson bend 1 lap 3 and then round Birko bend 2 lap 4. Watson a shadow of his former self in that heat.
Heat 5: Lyons R/R. Kauko moved Lyons out from start and was pretty comfortable after that
Heat 6: Unstatisfactory start all4back and a warning for Watson. From Gate Watson never far from Reima without ever looking like passing him.
Heat 7: Brum From Gate, Stoney all over Harrison but just missed out by 2 wheels on line. Charles retired lap 3 when last.
Heat 8: Reima round everyone bend 2 lap 1 for an excellent win. Branney made decent start but again messed ip bend 2 lap 1.
Heat 9: Kauko round Watson bend 2 lap 1 Track is much after tonight, just like it used to be.
Heat 10: Lyons chased Wright until managing to get round him bend 2 lap 4 for an excellent win
Heat 11: Watson R/R. Comets from gate with some good team riding seeing them through
Heat 12: Charles for Branney. Kauko from gate but under pressure from Lyons for all 4 laps.
Heat 13: Tully R/R. Unstatisfactory start all4back. Warnings to Tully and James all4back. James gated, Stoney shot between Brum pair bend 2 lap 1 Never troubled after that
Heat 14: Harrison TR. Unstatisfactory all4back. Haines moved. Harrison under fast starting Charles bend 2 lap 1 Birkinshaw fell bend 3 lap 2 and retired, Charles excluded for taking shortcut round bend 4 lap 2.

Kauko led until 30yards from finish when bike packed up, Lyons had earlier passed Stoney bend 2 lap 3 Rusty fell lap 3 when last Lyons best Brummie by mile.
