Comments: Prynne takes the Devils 1st r/r ride. Race will be re-run without Burmeister who fell on the 3rd turn of the 3rd lap whilst 2nd. Prynne did well to lay the bike down. Dream Team had gated onto a 5-1 but Starke had passed both of them on the back straight of lap 1. All up and ok though.
Re-run: Tight 1st bend between Harmatiuk and Starke, but Starke just got the better and won comfortably.

Heat 06: Fishback, Starke, Manzares, Bates (EF) 2-4; 15-21, 53.12

Comments: R/r is Bates. Bates has e/f on 1st lap. Fishback gated and did brilliantly to keep Starke behind him on the 1st turn. Starke had a good go though and on the 1st and 2nd bends of the final lap he tried to blast around the outside of Fishback, but the American blocked it superbly. Craneman says he will be surprised if anyone beats Fishback tonight.

Heat 08: STARKE, Burmeister, Gough, Ramirez 7-2; 23-28, 53.79
Line Up: Starke, Gough, Burmeister, Ramirez
Comments: Starke takes a tactical ride. Race of the night! Brilliant stuff, the whole back straight were jumping according to Craneman. Starke 3rd off the gate but quickly got into 2nd on the first bend. Burmeister though had a good lead only for Starke to catch him and then the 2 of them had a ding-dong battle for 2 laps. Starke eventually passed him on bends 1 and 2 on lap 3. But Burmeister then kept him honest until the end. Gough did well to get 3rd. Weather has been lovely all day, and warm too. Not too breezy either so a very pleasant evening in store!!

A final word from Craneman...
He has just said that all of the American fans watching in tonight can be very proud off their lads, who Craneman thinks have done their flag proud tonight. He thinks the Dream Team were brilliant from 1-7 and deserve their victory. He goes on to say that rarely has he been to a meeting when over half the heats had the crowd gasping for breath. He just hopes someone has filmed it so he can buy a copy for me to watch! lol.
But congratulations to the Dream Team and for anyone who thinks they are just another challenge match needs to think again. For any Newport fans watching in tonight, if you were unsure of whether to go tomorrow or not, well Craneman reckons you would be mad to miss it!!
Thanks for watching both here and across the pond. Thanks to Craneman for his brilliant comments. Good night!
