Heat Results
Heat 01: Hughes, Starke, Aldridge, Tregoning 5-1 50.90
Line Up: Hughes, Starke, Tregoning, Aldridge
Comments: Devils made the gate and were gone. Aldridge did gain some ground on Starke towards the end but it was fairly comfortable for the Devils. Tregoning quite a way back. That was the 2nd fastest time ever at the SBA.

Heat 02: Gough, A.Baseby, Resch, Dingle 3-3 8-4 53.75
Line Up: Dingle, Gough, A.Baseby, Resch
Comments: Good race that, Gough gated well but drifted on bend 2 lap 2, allowing Baseby up the inside. Gough though returned the favour up the inside with a forceful move on the same bend a lap later. Baseby was quicker in a straight line but Gough defended well. Dingle quite a bit behind.

Heat 03: Stephens, Newman, M.Baseby, Bates(EX) 3-3 11-7 53.35
Line Up: Bates, Stephens, Newman, M.Baseby
Comments: Electric gate by the Skipper Stephens who led from tapes to flag. Bates had a good tussle with Newman for 1 lap before the Devils rider settled in 2nd. It stayed that way until the final lap where on the 2nd bend, Bates drifted allowing Newman through. Bates though wound it on and went for a last bend swoop round the outside, he then went past Newman but clipped the fence and came off which looked nasty. As he flew over the finish line and wasnt in contact with his machine he was excluded, He is up and walking back to the pits though.

Heat 04: Hughes, Gough, Warwick, A.Baseby 5-1 16-8 53.75
Line Up: Hughes, Gough, Warwick, A.Baseby
Comments: Hughes brilliant from the tapes to win by 8 furlongs lol. Anyway Gough who was 3rd passed Warwick up the inside of bend 4 lap 2 and rode away. Warwick had to change his bike at the tapes and never looked comfortable.
Sponsored by Friends of Edinburgh Speedway www.foes.info/
Heat 05: Stephens, Aldridge, Tregoning, Dingle 3-3 19-11 53.38
Line Up: Dingle, Stephens, Tregoning, Aldridge
Comments: Stephens again from the gate brilliantly to take the win. But only just as Aldridge was close for all 4 laps. Dingle nearly got Tregoning a couple of times but didnt quite have enough. Aldridge going much better than he has previously. Impressive so far.
Sponsored by Splod
Heat 06: Starke, Warwick, Resch, Gough 3-3 22-14 53.53
Line Up: Gough, Starke, Warwick, Resch
Comments: All 4 level off the tapes, But Starke went around everyone on the 1st turn to win by a postcode. Gough challenged Warwick for 3 laps but then on bend 2 lap 4, Gough went too wide and nearly hit fence allowing Resch to take 3rd.

Heat 07: Hughes, Newman, M.Baseby, Dingle(F) 3-3 25-17 53.15
Line Up: Hughes, Dingle, Newman, M.Baseby
Comments: Dingle lifted violently at the start and craneman gave him 5.5 for artistic impression. He went on his back side but got up to clear the track. Meanwhile up front Hughes was yet again irrepressible up front. Newman like Aldridge is much improved for the visitors. Baseby was tailed off quite a bit.

Heat 08: Starke, Aldridge, A.Baseby, Gough 3-3 28-20 53.60
Line Up: Starke, Gough, Aldridge, A.Baseby
Comments: Gough missed the start, The others were 3 a breast going into the 1st turn. Starke rode a great 1st bend to go around the lot and pull away to take the win. Fairly strung out after that.
Sponsored by The Media Gecko @ www.themediagecko.co.uk
Heat 09: Stephens, Gough, Warwick, Resch(EX) 5-1 33-21 54.06
Line Up: Gough, Stephens, Warwick, Resch
Comments: Race stopped. Resch fell on bend 4 of lap 1 when under pressure from Gough. Resch excluded but that could have gone either way as there was contact but not sure it was Resch who was at fault.
Re-run: Stephens from the gate again and held up Warwick brilliantly to allow Gough around the outside, Strung out like a washing line after that.

Heat 10: Stephens, Newman, Starke, M.Baseby(EX) 4-2 37-23 Race Awarded.
Line Up: Stephens, Starke, Newman, M.Baseby
Comments: Baseby takes a TR.
Race Awarded. Stephens gated and was gone again. Newman and Starke had a ding dong for the 1st lap before the impressive Newman went around Starke on bend 2 lap 2, Baseby out back then picked up drive exciting bend 2 on final lap and smashed the fence right infront of Mikey. His head cracked on top of the fence, it looked horrific! After recieving medical treatment on the track he is somehow walking back to the pits, Big off that though.

Line Up: Starke, Hughes, Tregoning, Warwick

He flipped off but his bike took the brunt of it. Up and ok thought. Warwick was so far back he had chance to slow down and miss him.

Heat 14: A.Baseby, Gough, Stephens(F), Resch(EX) 2-3 46-40 Race awarded.
Line Up: Stephens, Gough, A.Baseby, Resch
Comments: Race stopped to be re-run without Resch who went up the inside of Gough on bend 2 lap 2 causing Gough to fall, They were shoulder to shoulder and Mikey isnt sure there was any contact but Gough bit the dust. Tough call and Mikey isnt sure if if was the right one. Gough up and ok though.
Re-run: Weird race, Stephens gated and was leading although Baseby was keeping him honest. Then entering the final lap Stephens seemed to lock up and fall. Baseby just missed him and Gough laid it down well. Not sure what happened but Mikey thinks it may have been a chain but unusual for Stephens to simply fall.
