Heat 01: Howarth, Dyer, Anderson, Brundle (Ex) 5-4 61.31
Line Up: Dudley vs Bournemouth
Comments: Brundle missed the 2 mins and is excluded.
Anderson made the jump and led but got out of shape on turn 3 lap 1 and fell. He remounted to finish but the fall gifted Howarth the win even though Dyer was close for the whole race and looked faster than Howarth.

Heat 06: Allott, Branford, Jacobs, Hazelden 2-7 60.50

Heat 07: Glanz, Simmonds, Anderson, Dyer 2-7 61.06
Line Up: Dudley vs Plymouth
Comments: Devils made a good gate, but Dyer was in the mix on the 1st and 2nd turns untill Simmonds wound it on around him to partner Glanz for an easy 7-2. Anderson passed his partner bend 3 lap 3.
Sponsored by Merlin
Heat 08: Lambert, Cockle, Bekker, Lowe 5-4 61.28
Line Up: Weymouth vs Kings Lynn
Comments: Lambert wound it on to go around the quick gating Cockle on the opening bend, but Lowe was at the back. Credit to the Lynn youngster though who wound it on and very nearly got Bekker off turn 2 on the final lap, he got level with the wildcat but Bekker held the line into turn 3 and held onto 3rd!!

Heat 09: Kurtz, Warwick, Atkin, Simmons 3-6 60.75
Line Up: Isle Of Wight vs Newport
Comments: Kurtz jet propelled from the gate, Warwick flew past Atkin and Kurtz though off the 2nd bend only to go too wide on bend 3 allowing Kurtz back into the lead. Meanwhile at the back Atkin passed Simmons around the outside of bend 2 lap 3.

Heat 11: Glanz, Simmonds, Howarth, Brundle 2-7 60.94

Heat 16: Lambert, Allott, Lowe, Branford 6-3 61.34
