Line Up: Nick Simmons, Dean Felton, Byron Bekker, Gary Cottham
Comments: Cottham from gate, but Nick round outside on 2nd bend. He then preceded to win by half a lap. Cottham looked down on power, Bekker protecting him, but Felton never really challenged.

Heat 02: Re-Run: Blake, Andrews, Hill, Lee Ret, 4-2, 7-5, 74.8
Line Up: Dan Blake, Tom Hill, Richard Andrews, Nick Lee
Comments: Re-run, after Islanders gated, but Referee (Dave "Yeti" Robinson) called them back for Unsatisfactory Start.
Re-Run: Islanders gated again, and were clear going into bends 3 & 4 when Nick Lee retired, engine trouble. Tom Hill then fell and remounted on bend 2, lap 2, before doing it again on lap 3 in exactly the same place, but got up to finish!

Heat 03: Re-Run: Warwick, Cockle, Day, 3-3, 10-8, 72.2
Line Up: Danny Warwick, Brendan Johnson, James Cockle, Terry Day
Comments: To be rerun. Johnson gated, but was overtaken on bend 3/4 by both Wildcats, before falling on bend 1, lap 2. Warwick also fell, trying to avoid Brendan. Re-run without Brendan. Both up & back to pits. Slight delay for track grading.
Re-Run: Cockle gated, but Warwick around outside on 2nd bend, and although briefly challenged, held on for good win.

Heat 04: Hill, Bekker, Andrews, Hopwood Ret, 3-3, 13-11, 74.8
Line Up: Ben Hopwood, Tom Hill, R/R - Byron Bekker,Nick Lee Richard Andrews
Comments: Byron Bekker is the R/R in White. Richard Andrews in for Nick Lee. Riders took an age to settle, and when they looked set to go, Bekker turned and went back to pits, and was excluded under 2 mins. Only option is to go off 15m handicap. Strange one that, as his bike was running ok?
Hopwood gated, with Hill tucking into 2nd. ndrews eventually let Bekker through on bend 3, lap 2, just as Hopwood retired from the lead. Hill held on superbly, and despite going very wide on last bend, held off Bekker by a fag paper over the line! Hopwood chucked bike down on centre green in disgust!

Comments: Both wildcats excluded under 2 mins rule! 1 can go from 15m, the other replaced by a reserve!
Bekker off 15m again, Cottham exc, Andrews in yellow at line!
Islanders gated into a 5-1, Bekker past Andrews coming off 2nd bend. Johnson then had what looked like carb trouble on 2nd lap to gift Weymouth the 3-3.

Cottham gated, whilst Simmons 3rd behind Felton. Simmons past Felton early on 2nd lap, before going past Cottham on 3rd bend, lap 3 like he was stood still! Lee sounded sick at back.

Comments: Islanders gated in a 5-1, but Blake passed by both Wildcats by 3rd bend. Hopwood won by as big a margin as Blake was 4th!

Comments: Nick Lee was very late out to tapes, and when he did appear, his helmet cover was only stuffed under the back of his goggles, and the Ref excluded him - going off 15m. Nick Lee now excluded again, so 3 riders only, on the original gates (2 mins)!
Gated and stayed in that order, Tom Hill looked a bit slow towards end.
Tractor racing now.

Hill chasing Andrews hard at the back, until Andrews came to grief on 1st bend, lap 3, Hill laid it down to avoid him, and hit fence. Paramedic on track, but think both are up and about.

Comments:James Cockle is the R/R in Yellow.
Great start from Hopwood on gate 4, whilst Simmons held up Bekker on inside to lead. Hopwood around outside of Bekker along back straight and outside of bends 3/4, brilliant move, and credit to Bekker for leaving just enough room. Easy from there, Cockle gave up the ghost on end of 2nd lap.

Comments: Terry Day taking a Tactical Ride. Nick Lee (surprise surprise) exc under 2 mins. No replacement, 3 riders only.
Johnson just got ahead of Day in gate 1, and clamped him on white line to take the lead, plenty of elbows, good brave riding. Day pushed hard for 4 laps, but to no avail.

Comments: Weymouth won toss & took 2 & 4.
Cockle gated, with Islanders having good first bends to keep Bekker at back. Simmons hunted down Cockle, feinting inside, then out, before going under him on 3rd bend, 3rd lap. Hopwood then closed in, as Cockle started to look sick, going through on 2nd bend, last lap. Bekker an unimpressive 3rd.
Good race to finish with, Islanders up on there bikes, giving the crowd a wave!

Been a sunny though windy day.. Track doesn't look too bad at the moment, but texter thinks may dust up later.
