Heat Results
Heat 01: Summers, Johnston, North, Larsen EF 5-1 5-1
Comments: Sneddon excluded for touching the tapes. North to replace. Larsen EF last lap while last. Flying start by Summers. Johno good drive to turn to drop in behind him and that was the last the vistitors saw of them.
Sponsored by www.enjaydesigns.net
Heat 02: North, Sedgmen, Anderson, McKinna 3-3 8-4
Comments: Sedgmen almost landed in the uni student bar after lifting turn 4 lap 1 which allowed North through
Sponsored by Steve Dixon www.stevedixonphotography.co.uk [/b]
Heat 03: Sweetman, King, Bach, Kerr 3-3 11-7
Comments: Great race all 4. Sweetman passed King on the outside going into lap 3. Kerr all over Kings back wheel in the inside. Last lap Bach comes seemingly from out of touch to challenge Kerr on an even tighter line and nips up the inside of him. Just gets 3rd on the run to the line.

Heat 04: Lyons, McKinna, Lemon, Anderson 3-3 14-10
Comments: Lyons round the field turn 1 and 2 lap 1 and gone. Good battle at the back. Anderson passed Lemon going into lap 2. Lemon passed back going into the last lap. Both passes on the insdie coming off turn 4.
Sponsored by Friends of Edinburgh Speedway www.foes.info/
Heat 05: Sweetman, Kerr, Larsen, Sneddon 5-1 19-11
Comments: Very tight between Kerr and the visitors on turn 1 and 2. Sweetman went round the outside of the lot of them and cleared off to win by a mile. Kerr levelled off in 2nd off turn 2 lap 1 and was never seriousl troubled although a big mistake might have given Larsen a sniff.

Heat 06: Summers, Johnston, Lemon, North 5-1 24-12
Comments: Oh dear. The second best team in the league needs tacticals after just 6 heats, I pity the fool who comes here expecting to take away a point. Clean start by Johno, looks over for Summers who roars around the outside and away they go for an easy 5-1

Heat 07: Lyons, Sedgmen, King 5-1 29-13
Comments: Bach on a TR. Great race shaping up as Bach falls and is excluded. Brummies seem to have it all sorted after 60yards again but Bach committed to the chase. Tries to go around Lyons for 2nd with Sedgmen up in front. Bach lifts and falls off the back of the bike in the middle of bends 3 and 4 lap 2. Up and ok. Easy 5-1. King dropped off more with each lap.

Heat 08: Summers, Sedgmen, Sneddon, McKinna 5-1 34-14
Comments: Sedgmen in for Anderson as the Brummies appear to be looking to put this one well and truely out of reach (as though a 16point lead isnt enough ) before the interval. McKinna with audible bike problems just about completed 4 laps but was last anyway. Sneddon gave chase but nowhere near a challenge as Sedgmen appeared to be cruising and regularly looking to see where he was.

Heat 09: Kerr, Sweetman, Lemon, North 5-1 39-15
Comments: 7 seconds of excitement this time. Clean start by Sweetman and Kerr missed it. Kerr goes for a big blast on turn 1 and 2. As he starts to round the field Sweetman grabs a touch more traction than required and straightens up a bit looking all the world as though Kerr must back off or be taken out. The American keeps the throttlewound wide open around the fence to take the lead with little to spare between him and his partner. Sweetmans's slight loss of speed gives the visitors a look at the inside but he has it all sorted well before they hit the bottom turn.

Heat 10: Re-Run: Bach, Johnston, Summers, King 3-3 42-18
Comments: Summers twitched at the gate and looks like he will get a warning. The fight back starts here lol. Clean gate by Bach. Brummies both chase him hard and put pressure on for 2 laps but he pulls clear on laps 3 and 4. Upside for the visitors now is that only 2 home riders are on a maximum. Can they at least prevent home maximums for a crumb of pride?

Heat 11: Lyons, Sneddon, Larsen, Sedgmen 3-3 45-21
Comments: The latter made a right mess of the start, gave chase but with the visitors side by side his options where limited although got close by the end.

Heat 12: Kerr, NORTH, Anderson, King 4-4 49-25
Comments: North on a TR, King has bike problems on the way to the tapes and misses the 2 minute warning he is excluded, he will now go off 15 metres. Kerr gated and gone, Anderson put pressure on North, almost making an inside pass lap 2. who pulls away more comfortable 2nd on last lap. 3 shared heats in a row gives Newcastle a chance of keeping it something like respectable

A message from the texter "Just to keep everyone entertained. I had a text today to say Mr Whippy has been found dead in his home. He had hundreds and thousands in his hair. Chocolate sauce all over his hands and a flake up his nose. Police say their initial investigations lead them to believe that he topped himself" UPDATER COMMENT: 21st get your coat mate and dont let the door hit you in the arse on the way out ;D
Texter comment " Grrr not happy. Poole Vs Coventry score just been announced. One of my biggest pet hates on things a club can easily affect on any given night. Presenter says if youve got sky+d it put your hands over your ears which acknowledges they know people dont want to know the score. then announce it over loud speakers anyway. NOT HAPPY"
Heat 13: Lyons, Johnston, Lemon, McKinna 5-1 54-26
Comments: Comedy moment. Larsen has bike problems on the way to the tapes. Leaves first bike on turn 3. Takes 2nd bike to the tapes. That packs up so leaves it in his start gate position and runs accross to the pits with his 2 bikes abandoned on the track lol. Larsen excluded on 2 minutes and McKinna to replace. Not as you might expect. McKinna leads into turn 1, Lyons passes him on turn 2 lap 1. Lemon passes his off turn 4 lap 1. Johno passes him turn 4 lap 2. Johno puts the move on Lemon for 2nd Lemons bike splutters around the rest of the race. Visitors half a lap behind by the end

Heat 14: Sweetman, Bach, North, Anderson. 3-3 57-29
Comments: Anderson in for Sedgmen and North in for McKinna. Terrific race. Anderson gates ahead Bach passes him off turn 2 lap 1. Sweetman passes him lap 2 turn 1. North passes him turn 3 lap 2. Sweetman chases down Bach and passes him around the outside of turn 2 last lap. Anderson still in contention has a go back at North but cant pass.
