Heat Results
Heat 01: Warwick, Kerr, Owen 71.0
Comments: Warwick away well, followed by Kerr, then Owen, 3 riders only due to Brendans withdrawal. From gate.
Sponsored by www.enjaydesigns.co.uk
Heat 02: Herne, Simmons, Smith, Starke ret 67.4
Comments: Even break, but Jay Herne gets away first, followed by Rob Smith, who is ovetaken by Nick Simmons on the 4th bend. Nick then sets after Jay, but never really close enough to threaten, with Starke a distance last.
Sponsored by Steve Dixon www.stevedixonphotography.co.uk [/b]
Heat 03: Kurtz, Felton, Bates, Cottham 69.5
Comments: Close around the 1st bend, but eventually Kurtz pulls clear, with Deano and Matt Bates chasing. Kurtz a mile clear, from gate.
Sponsored by: www.speedway-games.co.uk [/b]
Ht 1 of old farts was 1st Steve Cook, 2nd Keith Gardener, 3rd Tom Standing, 4th Rob Snow, and 5th (from a 15m handicap) was Billy Haynes, time 63 seconds!!!! (over 3 laps)
Heat 04: Smith, Warwick, Bates 70.9
Comments: Danny again shot from the tapes, but Smith had a fast outside line, and took him on the 3rd bend. Bates not to far away either, meaning Danny has to watch in front and behind!
Sponsored by Friends of Edinburgh Speedway www.foes.info/
Heat 05: Simmons, Starke, Kerr, Felton 68.6
Comments: Nick makes a gate for a change to lead, with Paul Starke up his exhaust! Strung out after a lap though, no close racing for the big crowd to get worked up about. Yet.
Sponsored by Splod
Heat 06: Herne, Kurtz, Owen, Cottham 69.3
Comments: Owen away well, but its Kurtz who gets into the lead up the inside, before Herne goes round him on the 4th bend. Herne really scraping the boards to get close to Kurtz, passing him down the back straight, whilst Cottham also makes a move to pass Owen, who goes hell for leather around last bend, to sntach 3rd place back on the line! What was i saying about dull races . . . . .

Old farts second race, Billy Haynes ret at start, but rest of places were same as 1st race, 63.3.
Heat 07: Re-run Kurtz, Starke, Warwick 69.7
Comments: Matt Bates had a clutch incident at the tapes, and demolished them, and got himself excluded from the race, 3 riders for the restart.
Kurtz jumps well, but has to clamp Starke on the inside, giving Danny a chance to run round the outside, but he locks up to stay 3rd. Starke looking keen in 2nd place, but Todd has too much speed for him.
Sponsored by Merlin
Heat 08: Smith, Kerr, Cottham Fell 72.0
Comments: Bit of a coming together at the start, but they all made it round, with Cottham in the lead, before falling off on the apex of the 3rd/4th bends to hand Rob Smith the lead, in what is now a match race with Lewis Kerr, due to no Brendan.
Sponsored by
Heat 09: Herne, Simmons, Owen, Felton ret 68.7
Comments: Herne gets the jump, Nick quickly sorts himself out into 2nd place, but the drying and dusty track makes a pass difficult, and the race is very strung out.
Sponsored by inthedirt clothing - inthedirt.co.uk - facebook.com/inthedirt
Heat 10: Kerr, Cottham, Simmons, Warwick ret 72.5
Comments: Kerr away well, With Cottham in 2nd, and Nick trying lines everywhere to get past in 3rd, and for the first 2 laps so was Danny Warwick, until he retired with engine trouble. Nick was inside, then outside, put couldn't move out of 3rd place.
Sponsored by
Heat 11: Herne, Starke, Kurtz 70.2
Comments: Jay Herne jetted from gate 4, whilst Paul Starke went round Todd Kurtz on 3rd bend.
Sponsored by
Heat 12: Smith, Owen, Bates, Felton 70.9
Comments: Rob Smith hits the front, but has to hold off Marc Owen around the outside, with Matt Bates in 3rd. Owen getting closer and closer to passing Smith on the outside, before cutting to the inside on the final bend, missing out on the win by a tyres width!
Sponsored by
Final old farts race, Cook, Gardener, Standing, Haynes (on a handicap), Snow.
Semi-Final 1: Kurtz, Starke, Herne, Warwick N/S 69.6
Line Up: Herne, Kurtz, Warwick, Starke
Comments: Kurtz gets away and clamps herne on the line, which frees paul starke on the outside run to snatch second, which Jay Herne just couldn't match. Warwick was a Non Starter.

Semi-Final 2: Smith, Simmons, Kerr, Owen 70.8
Line Up: Smith, Simmons, Kerr, Owen
Comments: Smith with a flier, Nick into 2nd for an I.o.W. 5-1! Kerr and Owen struggling at back. Simmons not giving up on Smith, and I've just seen 5-laps-Les crossing the track to retrieve Owen's steel shoe, which must make it difficult!
Sponsored by Splod [/b]
Grand-Final: Re-run Simmons, Starke, Smith, Kurtz ret 71.2
Line-up: Starke, Kurtz, Smith, Simmons
Comments: Kurtz got a flier, unsatisfactory start, re-run with all 4.
Kurtz leads, followed by SMith, but Nick dives up into 2nd lace on 3rd bend. Kurtz has EF on 4th bend, 2nd lap, very cruel, to leav an I.o.W. podium, which Nick will take top step, followed by Starke and Smith, very bad luck for Kurtz. Kurtz was pointing at the bottom of his engine and shaking his head, not good.
