Heat Results
Heat 01: Perry, Howarth, Morley, Branford (fell).
Line Up: Perry, Howarth, Branford, Morley
Comments: What a race to start. Branford fell last turn last lap. Perry last out the start, 2nd at the end of lap 1, realed in Howarth and passed him bend 4 lap 3. Cracking race. Branford up and seemingly ok. Minor fence repair.
Sponsored by www.enjaydesigns.co.uk
Heat 02: Haines, Newman, Owen, Wrathall.
Line Up: Owen, Haines, Newman, Wrathall
Comments: Stopped. Haines jumped it but not stopped for that! Mistake turns 1 & 2 by Wrathall sent him wide leaving Newman nowhere to go but down. All 4 back and all up.
Re-Run: Haines slowly edged clear throughout. First turn mistake by Owen let Wrathall through, but next turn Wrathall went wide allowing Owen back through. Decent pace by Owen then as he closed in a bit on Newman.
Sponsored by Steve Dixon www.stevedixonphotography.co.uk [/b]
Heat 03: R. Worrall, S. Worrall, Morris, Nielsen.
Line Up: Morris, Nielsen, S. Worrall, R. Worrall

Sponsored by Friends of Edinburgh Speedway www.foes.info/
Heat 05: Perry, S. Worrall, Owen. Sarjeant (FX).
Line Up: Sarjeant, Perry, Owen, S. Worrall
Comments: Stopped. Sarjeant does a 270 degree turn on bend 1 causing Perry to take avoiding action. Everyone ok. Re-run without Sarjeant (21st hopes he can recover from his shocking start, he likes the lad).
Re-Run: Perry gates and pulls clear to win. Owen reasonably close without looking likely to pass.
Sponsored by Splod
Heat 06: Newman, Howarth, Hart, Morris.
Line Up: Hart, Morris, Howarth, Newman
Comments: Very very tight turns 1 and 2 between the front 3. Newman braves it out to go around the other two through an ever closing gap. Hart dropped off a bit. Howarth close enough to take advantage had Newman made a mistake until Newman pulled away last lap. Morris nowhere.
Sponsored by
Heat 07: Nielsen, Branford, Haines. Garrity (FX).
Line Up: Nielsen, Garrity, Haines, Branford
Comments: Stopped. Garrity locked up turns 1 & 2 and ground to a virtual halt. Nielsen tried to avoid him but he had bo chance. Nielsen straight up. Garrity took a couple of minutes but got up and walked away under his own steam. Jason excluded.

Sponsored by Merlin

Heat 10: Howarth. Owen (FX), Garrity (ret), R. Worrall (FX).
Line Up: R. Worrall, Owen, Garrity, Howarth
Comments: Worrall spins it round and falls turn 1. He's up. Garrity worked wonders to react well enough to miss Worrall but at his own expense. He rides straight into the fence. Waiting for news on him. Worrall excluded.
Garrity now up and walking away. Sore wrist reported.
Re-Run: Stopped and awarded to Howarth who had lead from the back straight of lap 1. Garrity EF at the gate, threw it down in disgust, crowd gave him ironic cheers so he turned and gestured to the crowd which lead to laughing. Meanwhile on the track Owrn was chasing Howarth, but made a mess of turn 1 lap 3 and goes into the fence at a fair rate of knots. He's excluded. Howarth last man standing. Owen has a little treatment before walking away. 21st is pretty sure Owen is ok.

Heat 13: R. Worrall, Haines, Perry. Hart (fell).
Line Up: Haines, Hart, R. Worrall, Perry
Comments: Hart fell turn 1 last lap having just been passed. Perry missed it off 4, turned back and tried to pass all in one coming off turn 2. Got too much grip and lifted. Did well to get it down without hitting anyone else. Worrall & Haines race clear. Perry recovers and chases down Hart making an outside pass going into the last lap. Front 2 close for 4 laps.

Heat 14: Howarth, Nielsen, Wrathall. Sarjeant (FX).
Line Up: Howarth, Sarjeant, Wrathall, Nielsen
Comments: Stopped. Nielsen spins it round and does a slo-mo fall on turn 1. He got up to continue. At turn 3 Sarjeant fell (possible engine problem or chain break). He's stuck under the fence so he's excluded for causing the stoppage. What a nightmare for him
Re-Run: Wrathall initially challenging Nielsen. Stefan shakes him off and closes down Howarth. Almost got up on him but Howarth hangs on.
Sponsored by Splod [/b]
Sorry to say, Owen has withdrawn. No specific news.
Heat 15: Morris, Branford, Jacobs, Reade.
Line-up: Jacobs, Branford, Morris,Owen Reade
Comments: Can only describe as frightening! Almost a 3 rider pile up back straight lap 1 as Morris squeezes outside Jacobs and Branford charges inside. Sooo close. Into the turn and Branford straightened up a touch and almost took out Morris. All tightens up off turn 4 and very close again. Morris then clears off as the others all over each other.

Heat 16: Garrity, S. Worrall, Newman, Morley.
Line-up: S. Worrall, Newman, Morley, Jacobs
Comments: No drama for the panto villian this time Very tight shoulder to shoulder scrap for second until Garrity eventually edged clear last lap and a half.
Howarth leads on 10 points with Richie Worrall & Perry 9. 1 ride each left!
Heat 17: Perry, Garrity. Wrathall (FX), Morris (FX).
Line-up: Perry, Wrathall, Garrity, Morris
Comments: Stopped again. 21st says these boys are certainly trying! Morris charges into turn 3 and falls. Garrity further endeared himself to the home faithful gesturing to the ref that he didn't want it stopped as he was leading at the time. And people wonder why he gets the panto boos here lol. The fall was one of those where they start to bail out and virtually get it laid down but are still carrying speed. Bound to hurt but fingers crossed just bumped and bruised
Re-Run: Comedy hour at Monmore Wood. Perry makes a good gate with Garrity hard after him. Wrathall fell turn 1 but got up to continue. Lap 2 it appeared Garrity had problems with the throttle cable and slows to the cheers of the crowd. He doesn't stop though. Continues and is pulling at the throttle cable trying to keep it going. Wrathall slowly closed. He was about to pass Garrity going into turn 3 lap 3 but fell off. Race stopped as Perry was already coming off turn 2 last lap. Awarded.
Heat 18: S. Worrall, Haines, Howarth, Jacobs.
Line-up: S. Worrall, Howarth, Haines, Jacobs
Comments: Tight first lap but then spread out.

Comments: Unsatisfactory start. All 4 back.
Re-Run: Stopped. Newman fell going too hard into turn 3 lap 3. He was working hard to close down then line-up an outside pass on Branford. Got a bit impatient 21st thinks and charged too hot. He's up and ok after a couple of minutes.
Heat 20: Nielsen, Reade. Hart (FX), Morley (Mins).
Line-up:Owen Reade, Hart, Nielsen, Morley
Comments: Morley excluded for missing the 2 minutes.
Re-Run: Stopped. Hart fell turn 2. At the same time Nielsen had a complete engine seizure and wasn't under power when the red lights came on. Hart excluded but Nielsen invited back.
Re-Run x2: Nielsen missed the 2 mins but still he's invited back. 21st says the ref must be dating his mum lol
Re-Run x3: Reade close and challenging until Nielsen pulled away on the last lap.
Semi-Final: Haines, Howarth, S. Worrall. Newman (FX).
Line-up: S. Worrall, Haines, Newman, Howarth
Comments: Stopped. Newman outside Haines in the middle and Worrall up the inside charge hard into turn 3. Shoulder to shoulder, none of them prepared to back off led to the inevitable. Kyle down hard on the inside. Worrall seemingly fell on his own but only Newman excluded. Glad to say the boys are up and walking away after a high speed fall.
Re-Run: Thank heavens for an uneventful race lol.
GRAND FINAL: Haines, Perry, Howarth. R. Worrall (FX).
Line-up: Perry, R. Worrall, Howarth, Haines
Comments: Worrall jumped the start and has taken half the tapes with him. He's excluded. Smells like the clutch has gone so the bike decided to go rather than drop the clutch.
Re-Run: The start gate mechanism has been damaged, so it looks like we'll be restarting without the tapes! A fine way to end. Fair clean start. Haines makes the best of turn 1 to lead from Howarth. Perry sorted himself out and started to chase them down. Perry passed Kyle outside turn 4 lap 2. He charged after Haines. Perry caught Haines and just as he lined him up for an outside move Haines glanced over his shoulder and JUST spotted him in time to shut the door and kill Perry's momentum. Haines hung on to take the title. Congrats to all 3.
