Heat Results
Heat 01: Kurtz, Barker, Garrity, Kling... 5-1; 51.13
Kurtz jumped the start, but the ref let it go. Barker joined him up front on the 2nd bend and that was that!
Sponsored by www.enjaydesigns.co.uk
Heat 02: Hawkins, Garrity, Ksiezak, Reede... 1-5; 6-6; 52.18
Easy peasy for the Rockets pair as they gated and won easily
Sponsored by Steve Dixon www.stevedixonphotography.co.uk [/b]
Heat 03: Gathercole, Holder, Mellgren, Bunyan... 5-1; 11-7; 52.35
This time Holder get away with a jump. Gathercole came round the outside of bend 2 to take the lead with Holder in 2nd. Gathercole then eased into a big lead after a couple of laps only to look over his shoulder to see Holder under pressure from Mellgren. Gathercole then eased off the throttle to protect Holder for the remainder of the race. Decent ride by Gathercole

Heat 04 re run: Fisher, Hawkins, Ksiezak, Frampton... 4-2; 15-9; 51.82
Unsatisfactory start, all4back... Ksiezak jumped the start, but this time the ref spotted it. Hawkins had made a great gate. The inside gate seems to be where all the jump starts are coming from strangely!
Kseizak makes a cracking gate and led into the first bend. Fisher quickly joined him after taking Frampton wide on turn 2. It was looking like a 5-1 all day long, but Hawkins kept plugging away on the inside waiting for a mistake by Ksiezak which duly came on bend 2 of the last lap, when Ksiezak drifted wide allowing Hawkins through. Neck and neck down the back straight, but Hawkins held the inside line which seems to be working best
Sponsored by Friends of Edinburgh Speedway www.foes.info/
Heat 05 re run: Gathercole, Kling, Holder, Hawkins (exc)... 4-2; 19-11; 52.06
Cracking race developing between Kling and Gathercole up front and between Hawkins and Holder at the back. Hawkins came under Holder on bend 2 lap 2 and gave him a clout. Despite his best efforts to stay upright Holder went down. Hawkins excluded from the rerun. Mikey reckons it could've gone either way
Tight first bend. Gathercole took Kling wide and that was that... Gathercole has been named as the new Devils captain
Sponsored by Splod
Heat 06: Barker, Frampton, Kurtz, Garrity (ret)... 4-2; 23-13; 51.41
Frampton gates and leads into bend 3. Barker goes for the dirt and fires himself straight round the baords to squeeze through the tightest of gaps leaving bend 4, then goes on to win well. Brilliant from Barker. Garrity retired, seemingly having trouble with his wrist injury
Sponsored by
Heat 07: Fisher, Mellgren, Bunyan, Reede... 3-3; 26-16; 52.12
Fisher from the gate... Mellgren kept him working though, never far away. Reede was in the mix early on before fading and ending up a fair way back
Sponsored by Merlin

Mellgren taking a tactical ride as r/r
Ksiezak jumping at the start yet again. All4back
Mellgren took Kurtz out to the burger van on bend 2 to close the door on his outside run. Mellgren flew off into the diatance to win impressively. Rockets bext rider so far tonight... Great battle for third. Ksiezak clipped the fence entering lap 3 allowing Hawkins to pass. However, Hawkins drifted too wide on bend 2 lap 3 allowing Ksiezak back through. Very close between them right up to the line.

Heat 09: Frampton, Holder, Hawkins, Reede... 2-4; 31-26; 53.09
Hawkins replaces Garrity
Gathercole having bike trouble, misses the 2 minute warning and replaced by Reede
Frampton led from the gate with Reede riding a blinder in second. Reede overcooked it trying to round Frampton on bend 2 lap 2, doing a 360! Meanwhile Holder was closing in on Hawkins going round the boards on the last bend and claiming second place on the line. Great ride!

Heat 10: Mellgren, Barker, Kurtz, Bunyan... 3-3; 34-29; 51.66
Cracking ride from Mellgren, really impressive... Made a great gate while Barker missed it off the graveyard gate 4. Mellgren built up a decent lead by the 3rd bend, Barker giving chase. Barker tried every line on the track, but despite being close, couldn't quite het there... Kurtz rode a smart first couple of nends to hold off Bunyan
Sponsored by
Heat 11: Kling, Fisher, Ksiezak, Bunyan... 3-3; 37-32; 52.66
Ksiezak replaces Reede... Bunyan is the rider replacement
Kling made a blinding gate to lead into the first turn and went on to an untroubled win... Ksiezak had a tussle with Bunyan on the first lap, but went on to an easy third place after that.

Heat 12 re run: Mellgren, Gathercole, Hawkins, Ksiezak... 2-4; 39-36; 53,34

Mellgren and Gathercole off like scalded cats, which looked fine to Mikey, but the ref not happy. All4back
Mellgren too good! Made a stunning start off gate 4 and was never troubled... Strung out by the end. Rockets not been spectacular, but have ground this one out. Mikey reckons they could be on for a point
