Doyle takes the lead, Morris 2nd, Nicholls 3rd and Thorssell 4th. Thorssell retires from the race during lap 2 at the back.

Comments: Frank: Robins make the gate. Lindgren with a brilliant cut back under Howarth on bend 1 lap 1. Howarth then goes back round the outside of him bend 4 lap 1. Lindgren keeps getting close but, Howarth holds him off brilliantly.
Swindon riders take the lead, Birks 1st, Howarth 2nd, Thorssell 3rd and Lindgren 4th. Lindgren passes into 3rd place on the backstraight of lap 1, and pushes hard for 2nd place, and just can't get it.

Batchelor takes the lead, Howarth 2nd, Woffinden 3rd and Thorssell 4th for another 5-1 to Swindon!! Woffinden passes Howarth for 2nd place at the end of lap 1, Howarth drops to 3rd. Howarth drops during lap 3 which allows Thorssell through into 3rd.

Comments: Wells is for Rider Replacement and Nicholls on a Tactical Ride.
Frank: Wells falls on the inside of bend 2 lap 1 and takes Kennett off, and Wells is excluded from the rerun.
Race Stopped, Wells crashes into Kennett's back wheel, and they both go down. Wells is up and ok, but is excluded from the rerun. Kennett is up and walking back to the pits.
Re-Run: Frank: Kildemand and Nicholls have a coming together before bend 1, all 3 back for the rerun.
