Heat Results
Heat 01: Blackbird, Greenwood, Perry, Stoneman. 5-1
Line Up: Blackbird, Greenwood, Perry, R/R - Stoneman
Comments: Islanders won the toss and took gates 2 & 4.
Greenwood made his best start of the season to lead for a couple of laps before Blackbird took the lead. Perry made a good initial jump but went too wide in the first turn. He passed Stoneman for third but the Heathens were well clear.

Heat 02: Clegg, Stoneman, Widman. Greaves (ret). 3-3, 8-4
Line Up: Clegg, Greaves, Stoneman, Widman
Comments: Clegg made ground and passed Stoneman on the insode turn 2 lap 3. Greaves packed up turns 3/4 lap 1 when last but challenging Widman. Widman off the pace of the front 2.

Heat 03: Starke, Isherwood, Ritchings, Johnson. 5-1, 13-5
Line Up: Starke, Isherwood, Johnson, Ritchings
Comments: Race of the night... for third. Darryl stole it on the line from a mile back on lap 1. Heathens were gone. Starke a mile clear and popping wheelies on every straight.

Heat 04: Morris, Ellis, Widman. Greaves (FX). 3-3, 16-8
Line Up: Morris, Greaves, Ellis, Widman
Comments: Stopped. Ellis jumped the start and somehow missed the tapes but was allowed to get away with it. Greaves made a good start from the inside but he lifted off turn 2 and fell off the back of the bike which took out Ellis. Both riders are on their feet and Greaves is excluded. 21st says it's the right call for the crash but he doesn't know how it's not all back for the jump start.
Re-Run: Delay for Ellis to make running repairs. No word on any injuries. 21st says that delay was long enough for Ellis to g out and buy a new bike let alone repair this one! Oh and the re-eun was boring lol. Morris made a cracking start and pulled well clear. There was a bit of getting to know you between Ellis and Monmore's tight turns but he could prove a threat in the later heats. Raw pace was there.

Heat 05: Starke, Perry, Isherwood, Johnson. 4-2, 20-10
Line Up: Starke, Isherwood, Perry, R/R - Johnson
Comments: Starke made a clean start and pulled clear. Perry moved Isherwood out of the way in turn 1 and went after Starke. He had good pace for a couple of laps but then faded. Isherwood swooped round Johnson off turn 2.

Heat 06: Blackbird, Greenwood. ELLIS (FX), Stoneman (ret). 5-0, 25-10
Line Up: Blackbird, Greenwood, ELLIS, Stoneman
Comments: Ellis takes a tactical ride.
Blackbird made the best start and 21st thought he'd pinned Ellis for Dan to come round the outside. Ellis flew up the inside to hit turn 3 in the lead. Blackbird turned hard back under him off turn 4 and flew down the home straight on one wheel for most of the way. Both riders full bore into turn 1 for the second time. Ellis ended up on his backside and got excluded. Was there any contact? 21st gut reaction from near the start line was yes but there was no reaction from Ellis so maybe not.
Re-Run: At the start Blackbird loses his steel shoe. He has to get off the bike and fit it on with seconds to spare! Green light came on and Stoneman packed up. To top it off we're half and half on the speakers now because Stoneman rode over the centre green and pulled some cables out lol.

Heat 07: Clegg, Morris, Johnson. Ritchings (ret). 30-11
Line Up: Morris, Clegg, Johnson, Ritchings
Comments: Clegg swooped the visitors in turns 1 and 2 to take the lead. Morris made a poor gate but turned back to make a long backstraight and went from last to second before turn 3. He then rode a proper captain's race to sit inside Clegg. He had to shut off a lot but that is proper team riding.

Heat 08: Ellis, Greenwood, Widman, Greaves. 2-4, 32-15
Line Up: Greenwood, Greaves, R/R - Ellis, Widman
Comments: From the gate. 21s bets Nathan wishes he was on holiday this week! He's having a super first season though.
Sponsored by
Heat 09: Ellis, Starke, Isherwood, Stoneman. 3-3, 35-18
Line Up: Starke, Isherwood, Ellis, Stoneman
Comments: From the gate but a good effort by Starkey to keep Ellis on his toes throughout. As 21st said, the raw pace is there!
Sponsored by
Heat 10: Blackbird, Greenwood, Johnson, Ritchings. 5-1, 40-19
Line Up: Blackbird, Greenwood, Johnson, Ritchings
Comments: The only interest was whether Darryl would steal third again. He didn't! 21st says it's like he's completely forgotten how to ride Monmore and he's kinda gutted as he's very popular here! And he's delighted to see Dan in such good form.

Heat 11: Morris, PERRY, Ritchings, Clegg. 3-5, 43-24
Line Up: Morris, Clegg, PERRY, R/R - Ritchings
Comments: All the action was at the back. Clegg was in third but Ritchings made a good outside run to pass him after a lap. Cleggy wouldn't go away though and came back into third by plugging away around the kerb. Ritchings then went back around Clegg. The youngster still wouldn't accept he was beaten and challenged all the way. Great race.

Heat 12: Starke, Johnson, Stoneman, Greaves. 3-3, 46-27
Line Up: Starke, Greaves, Johnson, Stoneman
Comments: Greaves' night is complete as for some reason he was left standing at the start and didn't get going until everyone was halfway to the pits, metaphorically of course

Heat 13: Blackbird, Morris, Perry, Ellis. 5-1, 51-28
Line Up: Blackbird, Morris, Perry, Ellis
Comments: Great race ruined partly by the ref and track staff.. The tapes were part broken after the start and left hanging. The start marshall should've tried to clear it or the ref should've stopped it. It was hit by someone going into lap 2 which left a potentially dangerous loop hanging. Luckily no major issues but an unnecessary risk. Great ride by Morris to chase down and pass Perry on the inside turn 2 lap 3.

Heat 14: Clegg, Ritchings, Isherwood, Widman. 4-2, 55-30
Line Up: Isherwood, Clegg, Ritchings, Widman (off 15m)
Comments: Isherwood twitched on gate 3 and Widman rolled over the tapes on gate 4. Widman goes off a 15m handicap.
Re-Run: On the rare occasion Clegg gates reall well, there's no catching him. Clegg was well clear and gains his revenge on Ritchings. Isherwood was close enough to keep the crowd interested but not really close enough to worry Ritchings.

Heat 15: Blackbird, Morris, Ellis, Perry. 5-1, 60-31
Line-up: Blackbird, Morris, Ellis, Perry
Comments: Heathens take 1 & 3.
What a way to end! A clean start by Blackbird gave him a comfortable win. Faultless night by him. Morris got squeezed out in the first half a lap. The Islanders were side by side coming off turn 4 lap 1 but Morris still found room to turn inside them. It was three abreast along the homestraight and it was Morris who held his nerve and moved into second coming off turn 2 and down the backstraight lap 2. Brilliant ride.
