Eagles win the toss and take gates 2&4.
SCB Referee: Graham Reeve
Heat 01: Mogridge, Clegg, Mason, Ritchings 5-1 (5-1) 64.8
Line Up: Clegg, Mogridge, Mason,Warwick Ritchings
Comments: Ritchings takes R/R for Eastbourne.
Super start by Mogridge and he lead comfortably all the way. Clegg made a poor start and rode a dodgy lap 1. He got himself mud track on the edge if the dirt and made his way around the Eagles duo on consecutive laps.

Heat 02: Perks, Dugard, Neale (Fell / Remounted), Wood (R) 4-2 (9-3) 61.1
Line Up: Neale, Perks, Wood, Dugard
Comments: Heathens flew from the start. Well clear after a lap but Neale just slips off middle of bend 1&2 lap 1. Jumps straight up to take the point. Wood retired at the start.

Heat 03: Ritchings, Williamson, Harris, Andrews 3-3 (12-6) 64.5
Line Up: Williamson, Harris, Ritchings, Andrews
Comments: From the gate but Williamson kept him honest and was slightly quicker. Ritchings kept it clean and tidy though so no way through.

Heat 04: Race Awarded: Wilson-Dean, Dugard, Perks (Fell / Remounted), Greaves (Fx) 1-5 (13-11)
Line Up: Greaves, Perks, Wilson-Dean, Dugard
Comments: Well we cant afford to do this. Greaves was leading with BWD moving to his outside on bend 3&4 lap 1. Perks close behind saw the gap and dived hard inside. He almost moved BWD over to squeeze through. BWD got some grip off the turn to go in to lap 2 still 2nd. Perks still inside slipped off going in to turn 1 lap 2. Possibly gave himself too tight an entry line. BWD got around Greaves coming off bend 4 lap 2. Greaves tried to hang on but did a spectacular looking 360 middle of the turn. Greaves is up and walked back but that may not of done his Wrist injury any good.

Heat 05: Mason, Andrews, Williamson, Harris 1-5 (14-16) 62.7
Line Up: Williamson, Harris, Mason,Warwick Andrews
Comments: Andrews takes R/R for Eastbourne.
What a start for the visitors. Left the heathens trailing. Matt made up a lot of ground but had far too much to do from the start. Super ride by the Eagles, good start and 4 safe faultless laps.

Heat 06: Wilson-Dean, Modgridge, Perks, Wood (F) 3-3 (17-19) 62.8
Line Up:Clegg Perks, Mogridge, Wilson-Dean, Wood
Comments: Clegg took a punt and destroyed the tapes. Excluded. Perks replaces, right call IMO.
BWD all the way and looking most assured. Heathens never far behind without challenging. They were just waiting for a mistake that never came. Wood fell and retired when last bend 2 lap 1.

Heat 07: Greaves, Ritchings, Neale, Andrews 4-2 (21-21) 62.4
Line Up: Greaves, Neale, Ritchings, Andrews
Comments: Greaves all the way with Ritchings never too far behind. Neale made a super early cut back from the tapes to get inside /Andrews and almost got Ritchings too. He gave chase and again almost got himself inside Ritchings a couple of times. His last attempt backfired a little and he lost ground. Andrews couldn't get back into the mix.

Heat 08: Mogridge, Mason, Dugard, Perks (R) 3-3 (24-24) 63.4
Line Up: Mogridge, Perks,Warwick Mason, Dugard
Comments: Mason takes R/R for Eastbourne.
Perks retired whilst a mile clear. Superb race between Mogridge outside and Mason inside. Initially for 2nd place then for the win they were level for the best part of three laps before Mogridge just about got over Mason. Full credit both.

Heat 09: Williamson, Wilson-Dean, Harris, Wood (Excluded, lapped) 4-2 (28-26) 64.9
Line Up: Williamson, Harris, Wilson-Dean, Wood
Comments: Superb start by Williamson and boy he needed one. BWD took an 'interesting' approach to turn 1 by turning right then left! Briefly allowed Harris into 2nd as he took a more traditional line. BWD fast and a threat to Williamson all 4 laps. Killed a bit of speed a couple of times with his enthusiasm shall we call it lol.

Heat 10: Mogridge, Ritchings, Clegg, Andrews 4-2 (32-28) 62.5
Line Up: Clegg, Mogridge, Ritchings, Andrews
Comments:
Mogridge led but wasnt the quickest as the race progressed. Clegg made a sluggish start as i think he was making sure he sat still. Got himself around Ritchings in to 2nd. He tried to go around Mogridge who had his head down. Clegg made what looked to be best decision to drop in behind Mogridge and let him ride his race. Ritchings though never gives up. On the last two laps Mogridge was slowing and it tightened up as Clegg backed off to stay behind him. Off the last turn Ritchings got half a wheel over Clegg which stopped him moving out and with Mogridge directly ahead Clegg was clamped. The captain paid the inevitable price of slipping to 3rd on the run to the line in a race he could have won on pure pace with plenty to spare. Great entertainment though and it's so good to see Darryl riding well and showing no last effects from the injury last year.

Heat 11: Wilson-Dean, Greaves, Mason, Neale 2-4 (34-32) 62.0
Line Up: Greaves, Neale, Mason,Warwick Wilson-Dean
Comments: Wilson-Dean takes R/R for Eastbourne.
Greaves made the start. BWD actually missed but got himself around the outside of Neale then Mason on lap 1. He set sail after Greaves and after a failed attempt inside turn 3/ he switched outside and outpaced Greaves on the home straight going in to the last lap. Cracking last to first ride.

Heat 12: Ritchings, Williamson, Perks (Fx), Wood (Fx) 2-3 (36-35) 61.6
Line Up: Williamson, Perks, Ritchings, Wood
Comments: Stopped. Nasty incident. Wood took a nasty fall after getting too close with Perks going in to turn 3 lap 1. Woid discludified but more importantly he's up and walking away seemingly none the worse. Lightning reactions by Ritchings. He saw it developing and laid it down very early. In fact he hit the ground before Wood! Rerun to come with 3.
Re-run Stopped. Stunning ride by Ritchings until the stoppage. All three level and Ritchings kept it wound on hard to lead in to turn 3 lap 1. Great move. Loojed like Peeks bike stopped on the turn and he fell.
Re-run x2 Cracking gate by Williamson and he moved straight out to the outside to cover the move Ritchings made at the previous start. Ritchings just turned back and took the lead off turn 2. Super move and he pulled further away with every lap that passed. Sponsored by
Heat 13: Clegg, Wilson-Dean, Greaves, Mason 4-2 (40-37) 61.4
Line Up: Clegg, Greaves, Mason, Wilson-Dean
Comments: That's a big big ride by both Heathens riders. Clegg git himself just clear of the two Eagles going in to turn 3 lap 1. BWD was charging hard but Clegg didn't put a wheel wrong. Greaves was last in to turn 3 lap 1 but charged in hard and made his way past Mason lap two off turn 4.
Sponsored by
Heat 14: Neale, Andrews, Wood, Perks 3-3 (43-40) 63.2
Line Up:Harris Perks, Neale, Andrews, Dugard Wood
Comments: Perks replaced Harris. Wood replaced Dugard.
Heathens from the start and looked well set for a crucial 5-1 but Perks bike appeared to lose power and he drifted out to the fence as the bike slowed. He then got it going again and closed a good 30/40 metres but ran out of time. Good ride by Neale.

Heat 15: Clegg, Greaves, Ritchings, Wilson-Dean (Fell / Remounted and retired) 5-1 (48-41) 61.8
Line-up: Clegg, Greaves, Ritchings, Wilson-Dean
Comments: What a super race to end a super meeting. Clegg from the gate and clear. Greaves just about got himself around Ritchings in to 2nd. BWD wound it on hard and by lap two he was steaming hard under Greaves off turn 2. Looked fir all the world he was going to get in to turn 3 clear 2nd but sheer guts and determination by Greaves as he shrugged off the move and got himself over BWD. Truth told they both charged in to turn 1 lap 3 harder and faster than any sane person would have even considered . BWD couldn't hold it and slipped off.
