Heat Results
Heat 01: Clegg, Mogridge, Widman, Armstrong 5-1 Agg: 48-36 Time: 61.00
Line Up: Clegg, Mogridge, Armstrong, Widman
Comments: 2 mins on, no parade.
Heathens fly from the start and take it with great ease. Armstrong looked like he was going through the motions a mile at the back.

Heat 02: Harris, Neale, Geary, Burnett - Fell 5-1 10-2 Agg: 53-37 Time: 63.32
Line Up: Neale, Harris, Geary, Burnett
Comments: Burnett makes the best jump but as Neale got inside off bend 2, Burnett clipped the fence. Awkward fall but gets up to clear the track. Harris made his way to the front and looked comfortable.

Heat 03: Williamson, Phillips, Perks, Terry-Daley 4-2 14-4 Agg: 57-39 Time: 62.09
Line Up: Williamson, Perks, Terry-Daley, Phillips
Comments: Williamson reacted first but went up before forward. Phillips into bend 1 but Williamson straight through inside backstraight to take the lead. Perks pushed hard all the way but never in a position to genuinely worry Phillips who never put a wheel wrong.

Heat 04: Payne, Harris, Burnett 2-4 16-8 Agg: 59-43 Time: 62.50 (Greaves - Fell / Excluded)
Line Up: Greaves, Harris, Payne, Burnett
Comments: Race Stopped. Awful crash for Greaves. Inside is very slick with rain in mind. Dirt line on the outside through. Greaves just touched the edge of the dirt and the bike has driven him straight into the fence. Bike stopped dead and Greaves flew over the handle bars. Harris managed to miss the bike and man. Burnett laid it down well and maybe just nudged him. Miraculously Greaves is up and walking away. First person out to Greaves was Armstrong top fellar. Fence needs repairs, track work - perhaps to even out the slick and dirt lines.
Thought they might have given it a quick grade so the change from slick to grip was one progressive but just some water down to dampen the dust mud track.
Re-Run: Payne all the way after a super start. Worried himself last lap when he looked to have clipped the backstraight fence coming off turn 2. Harris looking good again.

Heat 05: Williamson, Perks, Widman, Armstrong 5-1 21-9 Agg: 64-44 Time: 62.03
Line Up: Williamson, Perks, Armstrong, Widman
Comments: Super start for Williamson. Perks flew around the Stoke pairing on the opening bend Well spread out. Armstrong nowhere again, not himself at all so far.
Sponsored by Splod
Heat 06: Clegg, Payne, Mogridge, Geary 4-2 25-11 Agg: 68-46 Time: 61.87
Line Up: Clegg, Mogridge, Payne, Geary
Comments: Payne moved at the start but missed the jump. He pushed Clegg hard for two laps before Clegg edged out a decent lead. Mogridge had a decent pace in 3rd.

Heat 07: Greaves, Phillips, Neale, Terry-Daley 4-2 29-13 Agg: 72-48 Time: 63.28
Line Up: Greaves, Neale, Terry-Daley, Phillips
Comments: Greaves pushing his luck a little by phatting about at the start. Made a flyer to win easily through. Neale leg trailing on the edge of the dirt around first bend into 3rd. Neale pushed Phillips hard all the way to the flag but Phillips rides another faultless race. Terry-Daley better pace. Very slick track now. I've up wind and I've got dust in my pockets. There's a water truck here so the risk of a dust off is currently off 1/10000.

Heat 08: Mogridge, Widman, Burnett, Harris 3-3 32-16 Agg: 75-51 Time: 62.85
Line Up: Mogridge, Harris, Widman, Burnett
Comments: Mogridge with a clean start and they never saw which way he went. Stoke gated 2nd and 3rd. Harris looked like he hit the hyperspace button down the backstraight as the bike suddenly lurched forward going into turn 3. I'm guessing he some dirt up against the kick board. Burnett made one error which allowed Harris to close but not enough to challenge.

Heat 09: Payne, Williamson, Perks, Geary 3-3 35-19 Agg: 78-54 Time: 62.28
Line Up: Williamson, Perks, Payne, Geary
Comments: All about the front two riders. Payne off 1 and Williamson off 4. Nothing into shoulder to shoulder until Payne edged into the lead as they headed towards lap 2. Williamson pushed very hard and was the first one to start edging up a bit higher for some grip. To no avail as Payne rode a super race up front.

Heat 10: Clegg, Phillips, Terry-Daley, Mogridge - Fell / Excluded 3-3 38-22 Agg: 81-57 Time: 62.25
Line Up: Clegg, Mogridge, Terry-Daley, Phillips
Comments: Race Awarded. Mogridge had been all over Phillips all race as the two had a terrific scrap for 2nd. Phillips rode a super race to hang on again. Must feel like he's not had a lap to rest all evening. Mogridge over tried turn 1/2 last lap and lost ground. Coming off bend 4 he's caught the edge of the dirt and been driven very hard into the fence about 5 metres earlier then where Greaves went in. Kick board has been turned into kidling!! Thankfully he's up after a couple of minutes.
Anyone familiar with the PL days will know exactly the area the boys are picking up drive and hitting the fence hard... very hard!

Track repairs have taken place by committee. Two working on it, one advising and seven watching on!
Heat 11: Greaves, Armstrong, Neale, Widman 4-2 42-24 Agg: 85-59 Time: 63.53
Line Up: Greaves, Neale, Armstrong, Widman
Comments: Wow what an opening lap that was. Armstrong gated just ahead of Greaves. Bold effort by Widman around the outside to pass first Neale then just a true ahead of Greaves. Greaves kept it screwed on to pass both on bends 3 and 4. Neale passed Widman at the same time and pushed Armstrong hard all the way.

Heat 12: Williamson, Terry-Daley, Geary, Harris 3-3 45-27 Agg: 88-62 Time: 63.44
Line Up: Williamson, Harris, Terry-Daley, Geary
Comments: Williamson all the way. Terry-Daley passed first 3rd into the last lap as Geary drifted out a bit. Harris missed it and could do nothing from the back. Two encouraging rides earlier from him through. Just needs to gate better and not give away too much to the first turn. Solid ride by the two visitors.

Heat 13: Clegg, Greaves, Payne, Armstrong - Retired 5-1 50-28 Agg: 93-63 Time: 62.32
Line Up: Clegg, Greaves, Armstrong, Payne
Comments: Unsatisfactory start, Clegg adjudged to have moved but from my vantage point, I think he just nailed the start perfectly without rolling. All 4 back for the re-run.
Re-Run: Clegg with a superb start made to look even better by Armstrong not moving. He got it going but only to roll around in case someone had gifted him a point. Pulled up lap 3. It's all about the blue groove now and the only real action came when Greaves drifted of it a touch bends 1 and 2 lap 3 to give Payne a little look to him but Greaves corrected to cover the move.

Heat 14: Perks, Phillips, Neale, Burnett 4-2 54-30 Agg: 97-65 Time: 63.21
Line Up: Perks, Neale, Phillips, Burnett
Comments: No action to speak of until Phillips almost become bend 4's third victim of the evening coming off the last bend., Just about saved it. That apart he's had a super consistent night. Good on ya Phillips.
Sponsored by Splod
Heat 15: Payne, Williamson, Clegg 3-3 57-33 Agg: 100-68 Time: 62.60 (Phillips - Fell / Excluded)
Line-up: Williamson, Clegg, Phillips, Payne
Comments: Cradley on 1+3 and Stoke took 2+4.
Race Stopped, Nasty crash on turn 1. Williamson, Payne and Clegg got there together into the first bend. Clegg nudged off and should have been a simple slide but Payne then lost control as well and has gone down heavily after hitting either Clegg or his bike. Clegg got up and limped away then went down again. He's now up again and able to walk away. Payne also up after a couple of minutes. There's some lucky boys getting away with nasty crashes tonight. All 4 back for the re-run.
Re-Run: Race Stopped again. Phillips slipped off and Clegg had to take avoiding action. Referee stopped it because Clegg had his race ruined. Williamson who led around bends 3 and 4 was gutted. Phillips is excluded from the re-run.
Re-Run X2: Payne with a super gate and led all the way. Cracking night for him. Clegg was their back wheels going into lap 2 but rode into a wall of dust so thick I couldn't see him. He had to shut off and then just rolled around.
