Heat Results
Heat 01: Clegg, Morley, Perks, Couzins 4-2 60.78
Line Up: Clegg, Perks, Morley, Couzins
Comments: Clegg with a super start and won by a mile. Perks pushed hard without being in a position to make a move.
Sponsored by www.jaybeadesigns.co.uk/
Heat 02: Neale, Smith, Harris, Verge 4-2 8-4 62.91
Line Up: Neale, Harris, Smith, Verge
Comments: Close opening lap with Neale outside and Smith inside. Smith went inside into turn 1 but couldn't hold it tight and Neale did well to turn under him clean. Bit scruffy from Smith but he settled down as the race went on.

Heat 03: Williamson, Shanes, Ayres, Mogridge 3-3 11-7 62.81
Line Up: Williamson, Mogridge, Ayres, R/R - Shanes
Comments: Shanes is for rider replacement.
Shanes pushed all the way and would have been through if Williamson had make any mistake. Mogridge fell on turn 1 but remounted.

Heat 04: Greaves, Shanes, Harris, Verge 4-2 15-9 62.62
Line Up: Greaves, Harris, Shanes, Verge
Comments: Greaves with a super start and well clear on the first lap. Shanes chased hard again and was clearly the quickest again. Caught Greaves but in a repeat of the previous heat the home rider didn't give him a chance to make a move.

Heat 05: Morley, Williamson, Couzins, Mogridge - Fell 2-4 17-13 63.63
Line Up: Williamson, Mogridge, Morley, Couzins
Comments: Williamson made the best start but Morley got his wheels in line from the outside coming off bend 2 and passed with ease. Never troubled after. Mogridge fell on his own going into bend 3 lap 2, continued on then retired.
Mogridge's frustration with himself is clear to see but the team apparently had a meeting a couple weeks back about throwing points away. It seems yet to sink in as we've continued to throw points away. Time will come that it costs us. (not just Mogridge BTW).

Heat 06: Perks, Clegg, Shanes 5-1 22-14 (Smith - Fell / Excluded) 61.22
Line Up: Clegg, Perks, Shanes, Smith
Comments: Race Stopped. Horrible crash. Perks has clashed with Smith on the run to the first bend. Looks clear to the whole stadium that Perks snaked and took him out but the referee has slammed the yellow light on straight away, Smith is excluded from the re-run. Bit of time to check everything's still attached and thankfully Smith walks away
Re-Run: Shanes could do nothing about the flying Heathens this time. Easy 5-1 with Clegg playing the captain's roll allowing Perks to come around into the lead.

Heat 07: Race Awarded: Greaves, Ayres, Couzins, Neale - Fell / Excluded 3-3 25-17
Line Up: Greaves, Neale, Ayres, R/R - Couzins
Comments: Couzins is for rider replacement.
Ayres moved at the start then got caught standing as they went up. He's dead last to the first bend but gets an all 4 back. For anyone keeping count that's 2 mistakes by the referee. Unsatisfactory start, all 4 back for the re-run.
Re-Run: Neale has fallen but it was 'Greaves' fault. In direct contrast to the previous heat that was awful 'team riding'. Neale was quicker but try as he might to show Greaves his front wheel inside and outside Greaves was slow and blocking him. Neale couldn't back off because Ayres wasn't too far behind. As they went into turn 1 last lap Neale finally completely blocked on the inside down he went and the points went with him. Race Awarded

Heat 08: Harris, Couzins, Perks, Verge 4-2 29-19 66.40
Line Up: Perks, Harris, Couzins, Verge
Comments: Perks was a straight ahead and the bike has given bang on the last bend. Couzins just caught him but amazingly he was far enough ahead of Verge to push it the last 25 meters, even the with the back wheel seized for a point.

Heat 09: Williamson, Shanes, Mogridge, Smith 4-2 33-21 63.41
Line Up: Williamson, Mogridge, Shanes, Smith
Comments: Race Stopped. Twitchy start. Williamson moved on gate 4 and i'm sure someone else moved but not sure who. All 4 back in the re-run.
Re-Run: Tight opening bend between the front 3. Williamson just ahead and Mogridge trying up the inside of Shanes had to back out of it as Shanes tried to get inside Williamson. Again it may be fair to say Shanes the quickest if he were clear of traffic but Williamson didn't put a wheel wrong.

Heat 10: Clegg, Ayres, Perks, Hoskins 4-2 37-23 61.47
Line Up: Clegg, Perks, Ayres, R/R - Hoskins
Comments: Hoskins is for rider replacement.
Right, forget the first two and concentrate because you may not have heard this one before . Perks engine failure turn 4 lap 1 but kept it ticking over and rolled around at the back. When most would pull out the race Perks just made sure he kept it going through no power - not even enough to slide the bike. Hoskins fell while 3rd on bend 2 during the last lap. He got up to continue as he was a full half lap ahead of Perks who was just coming off bend 4 lap 3. Luckily Perks spotted Hoskins and squeezed every MPH his engine could offer to pass Hoskins on 3rd and 4th bends even tough he still couldn't even slide the bike. Top lad and another lesson for the 'superstars'.

Heat 11: Morley - Tactical Ride, Greaves, Neale, Couzins - Retired 3-6 40-29 63.21
Line Up: Greaves, Neale, Morley - Tactical Ride, Couzins
Comments: Morley takes a tactical ride.
Morley all the way looking very comfortable and well clear. Couzins fell on bend 3 lap 2 remounted and then retired.

Heat 12: Ayres, Williamson, Verge, Harris 2-4 42-33 62.43
Line Up: Williamson, Harris, Ayres, VergeSmith
Comments: Verge replaces Smith.
Wakey Wakey Heathens. It's not done and dusted yet. Superb first turn by Ayres to sweep around Williamson and pulled well clear up front. Looked good in that one. Harris challenged Verge but he's desperately short of confidence when it comes to making a move from the back. He was easily the quickest but couldn't got the job done. Good to see him in the points tonight through. Good steady ride by Verge. Earned his point well.

Heat 13: Clegg, Greaves, Shanes, Morley 5-1 47-34 62.97
Line Up: Clegg, Greaves, Morley, Shanes
Comments: Race Stopped, Morley moved and all 4 back in the re-run. Referee with the red light on immediately so i'll let him off with the fact that Heathens actually made the best of it by the first turn.
Re-Run: What a race.. at last! Greaves flew from the start. Clegg missed the jump but drove well to the turn ahead of Morley who was off gate 1. Shanes had a lean run and got into 2nd as Clegg backed off to let Greaves into bend 3. Clegg, Shanes and Morley level up off bend 4 and queued up behind Greaves. Clegg round Shanes and Greaves a lap later as Shanes almost passed Greaves at the same time. Clegg went clear with Greaves having to hang on from Shanes outside and Morley inside. Greaves JUST GOT 2ND from Shanes on the line.

Heat 14: Ayres, Mogridge, Neale, Verge 3-3 50-37 62.41
Line Up: Mogridge, Neale, R/R - Ayres, Verge
Comments: Ayres is for rider replacement.
Ayres flying up front and looking good. Good job he didn't do this from the start.
Sponsored by Splod
Heat 15: Morley, Clegg, Greaves 3-3 53-40 62.28 (Ayres - Fell / Excluded)
Line-up: Greaves, Clegg, Morley, Ayres
Comments: Cradley on and Kent on .
Race Stopped. Ayres changed to turns 3 and 4 lap 1 too fast and despite there being a dirt line out wide it wasn't enough to hold him up. Thankfully he bailed out in a reasonably controlled manner. Jumped up to clear the track but with his dirt deflector lying on the track the stoppage was inevitable and is excluded from the re-run.
Re-Run: Proper race to end the night. Clegg gated and Greaves looked as through he might join him but he;s not been quick tonight and Morley moved into a comfortable 2nd coming off bend 2. Clegg looked comfortable but Morley found something on bends 3 and 4 lap 1 to move inside Clegg. In a move that was hard but fair he moved up and forced Clegg to back out or his front wheel taken away. Clegg gave it everything to get back to the front but Morley rode a superb race.
