Heat Results
Heat 01: Ellis,Clegg,Wilson,Govier(Fell/Excluded)... Awarded. 2-4
Line Up: Clegg , R/R- Govier , Ellis , Wilson
Comments: Govier is the rider replacement. Ellis just got there ahead of Clegg. Clegg gave chase but Ellis had it stitched up. Govier and Wilson changed places twice during lap 1. Govier has become the latest victim of bend 4 lap 3. Just where the tractor comes out has claimed many a better rider than Govier. Not sure anybody knows why.

Heat 04: Williamson,Perry,Kirby,Harris...(3-3) 10-13 61.9
Line Up: Williamson , Harris , Perry , Kirby
Comments: Super start by Williamson and he needed it. Perry was all over him for the full four laps. Barely a bikes length in it on the line. Harris a long way behind Kirby very comfortable taking the odd point.
Sponsored by Friends of Edinburgh Speedway www.foes.info/
Heat 05: Ellis,Perks,Mogridge,Wilson...(3-3) 13-16 59.5
Line Up: Perks , Mogridge , Ellis , Wilson
Comments: Ellis this time absolutely flying a mile clear. Another fast one - well under the old track record. Perks was miles clear of Mogridge who was just about keeping himself comfortably clear in third, though a far from comfortable ride.
Sponsored by Splod
Phillips has withdrawn from the meeting. Best wishes to him.
Heat 06: Clegg,Perry,Mogridge,Kirby(Fell/Excluded)...Awarded. (4-2) 17-18
Line Up: Clegg , R/R- Mogridge , Perry ,Phillips Kirby
Comments: Mogridge is the rider replacement. Kirby replaces I Phillips. Stopped. Kirby the latest victim of turn four. He's excluded. On his knees. Clegg made the start. Mogridge made a good one for second off bend 2. Kirby challenging left Perry boxed in on the back straight. He backed out of it going into turn 3. Figuratively changed gear and blasted straight ground Kirby and Mogridge. Would have been interesting to see what pace he had to chase Clegg. Kirby walked away after a few minutes.

Heat 07:(Re-Run): Wajtknecht,Williamson,Chapman,Govier(Retired)... (2-4) 19-22 59.8
Line Up: Williamson , Govier , Chapman , Wajtknecht
Comments: Stopped. Wajtknecht had a nibble at the tapes but didn't touch them. Perhaps he wanted a head start to lower his track record before Ellis comes out again!!!
Re-Run: Wajtknecht in another post code. Full straight clear of Williamson. Under the old track record again. And he didn't even race head down to the flag. In fact he looked back and perhaps slowed a little at the end of lap 3 to see where the others were. Maybe he thought the race had been stopped because he couldn't hear anyone behind him.

Heat 08:(Re-Run): Perks(15m),Kirby,Wilson,Harris...(3-3) 22-25 63.3
Line Up: R/R- Perks(15m), Harris , Wilson , Kirby
Comments: Perks is the rider replacement. Perks with bike trouble as the green light came on. He pulled back from the tapes and ran out of seconds. He's excluded and goes off 15m.
Re-Run: Perks into second lap 1. Then inside Kirby off turn 4 lap 2. Well clear at the end.

Heat 09: Perks,Perry,Mogridge,Kirby...(4-2) 26-27 61.3
Line Up: Perks , Mogridge , Perry ,Phillips Kirby
Comments: Kirby replaces Phillips. Heathens gated on a 5-1. Perry made quick work of passing Mogridge and got himself on the edge of the dirt. My word that bike hooks up. He made up a lot on Perks in half a lap. Down the back straight Perks looked across just, and I mean just, in time to block him. That killed Perry,s momentum and he couldn't quite get that close again although he pushed Perks hard all the way to the flag.

Heat 10: Clegg,Wajtknecht,Chapman,Harris...(3-3) 29-30 61.9
Line Up: Clegg , R/R- Harris , Chapman , Wajtknecht
Comments: Harris is the rider replacement. Clegg all the way. Wajtknecht kept him honest and pushed all the way. Couple if bike lengths at the line. Harris closed in on Chapman middle laps but then fell away again.

Govier has now been withdrawn from the meeting. That explains why he retired in his last ride.
Heat 11: Ellis,Williamson,Harris,Wilson...(3-3) 32-33 60.3
Line Up: Williamson ,Govier Harris , Ellis , Wilson
Comments: Harris replaces Govier. Ellis briefly challenged but Williamson almost blew it on turn 3/4 lap 1. Good effort by Wilson. He spent a lap on the dirt trying to round Harris who just held him off. Then tried moving around a bit but overcooked it and nearly put himself in the fence coming off turn 2 last lap. Super effort though.

Heat 12: Perks,Chapman,Kirby,Harris...(3-3). 35-36 61.6
Line Up: Perks , Harris , Chapman ,Phillips Kirby
Comments: Kirby replaces Phillips. Perks a mile clear up front. Harris couldn't get near the Brummies though who complete for four safe steady laps to keep the visitors a point ahead.

Heat 13:(Re-Run): Perry,Clegg Williamson,Ellis(Fell/Excluded)...Awarded. (3-3) 38-39
Line Up: Clegg , Williamson , Ellis , Perry
Comments:Stopped all 4 back. Ellis tried to jump it.
Re-Run: Ellis excluded. Heathens flew from the gate to be on a 5-1 going into the first turn. Perry missed it and was dead last but WHAT a first turn. Put his wheel in the dirt and the bike grabbed a load of traction and pulled him clean round everybody coming off turn 4. He really was nowhere going into the turn. Super ride. Ellis was charging hard all over Williamson for third but overdid it turn 3/4 lap 3. He's up and fine.

Heat 14: Wajtknecht,Kirby,Mogridge,Harris...(1-5) 39-44 61.4
Line Up: Mogridge ,Govier Harris , Wajtknecht , Kirby
Comments: Harris replaces Govier. Wajtknecht well clear as you'd expect. Super ride by Kirby for second. Mogridge was close enough had he made a mistake but he didn't. Harris must have been 30m down after half a lap.
Sponsored by Splod
Heat 15: Wajtknecht,Ellis,Clegg,Perks...(1-5). 40-49 61.7
Line-up: Perks , Clegg , Wajtknecht , Ellis
Comments: Super start by Wajtknecht and he checked out. Ellis gated second but Clegg passed him back straight. Ellis inside Clegg for second turn 3/4 lap 1 but Clegg with a smart turn back to just get under Ellis coming off turn 4 to pass again going into lap 2. Ellis still buzzing all over Clegg and goes around the outside of Clegg turn 1/2 last lap. Super race to finish.
