Heat 01: Clegg, Neale, Bailey, Ritchings 5-1 62.6
Line Up: Clegg, Neale, Ritchings, R/R -
Comments: Bailey is for rider replacement.
Super start by Neale and Clegg got there with him. Bailey made a poor start but rode a cracking opening lap and a bit around the inside and passed Ritchings bend 4 and level with Neale. He then got himself briefly into 2nd off bend 2 lap 2. Neale kept his nerve and his line to take 2nd back on the backstraight of lap 2. Never completely comfortable as Bailey kept him honest.

Heat 02: Bailey, Mogridge, Harris, Cupitt 3-3 8-4 63.5
Line Up: Mogridge, Harris, Cupitt, Bailey
Comments: That was all about Bailey. Switched tactics and dedicated his race to the outside this time. Took a couple of laps but he swept beautifully around the outside of Mogridge off bend 4 lap 2 to lead into bend 1 lap 3. Good stuff. Harris had to round Cupitt on bend 2 lap 1 but had an easy ride in 3rd after that.

Comments: Neale is for rider replacement.
Sharp gating by the Heathens duo and they pulled well clear.

Heat 04: Williamson, Stokes, Bailey, Harris 3-3 16-8 63.2
Line Up: Williamson, Harris, Stokes, Bailey
Comments: Comfortable win for Williamson. Harris made a good jump initially but Stokes drove better to bend 1 and Bailey rounded him off on bend 2 and down the backstraight during lap 1.

Track's looking to be riding well despite all the torrential rain lately. Gotta give the track staff a mention for what's clearly a good job done today.
Heat 05: Mogridge, Ritchings, Perks, Stokes 4-2 20-10 63.5
Line Up: Perks, R/R - Mogridge, Ritchings, R/R - Stokes
Comments: Mogridge and Stokes is for rider replacement.
Awkward looking crash bend 1. 3 riders down as Ritchings gave Perks a nudge after Perks missed the start a bit. He fell before the bend and skittled Stokes and Mogridge. Bikes and bodies everywhere. Thankfully the boys are all up after a minute or two. According to Porky, Mogridge is a bit upset he's split a finger nail, lol. All 4 back in the re-run.
Re-Run: Cracking race. Stokes gated but the Heathens went either side of him off bend 2 lap 1. Ritchings then got himself in the mix and passed Stokes and Perks by the time they exited bend 4 lap 1. Ritchings was then all over Mogridge throughout but Mogridge somehow managed to hang on out front. Very close on the line. Perks ha d a nibble back at Ritchings a couple of times as well.

Heat 06: Clegg, Stokes, Neale, Cupitt 4-2 24-12 61.0
Line Up: Clegg, Neale, Stokes, Cupitt
Comments: Looks like Clegg and Neale are plotting and scheming on the line. First Neale goes over to have a chat with Clegg and then Clegg comes over to have a word with Neale.
Well unless the plan was for Clegg to win it by a straight and Neale to miss the start, I'm going out on a limb and saying it didn't work lol.
Neale had a scare by Cupitt for half a lap but charged under him into bend 3 lap 1 and then looked good to take 3rd. Closed a fair bit on Stokes but had given away far too much from the start.

Heat 07: Mogridge, Williamson, Campos, Kinsley 5-1 29-13 63.3

Comments: Heathens again sharp away and well clear. Good to see Williamson seemingly happy to just drop in behind Mogridge and not do anything silly.

Heat 08: Ritchings - Tactical Ride, Bailey, Harris 1-8 30-21 63.2 (Neale - Fell / Excluded)
Line Up: Neale, Harris, R/R - Ritchings - Tactical Ride, Bailey
Comments: Ritchings is for rider replacement and on a tactical ride.
Race Stopped. Neale has wiped out Harris. Massive crash. Thankfully I saw Harris move to take his goggles off. Never seen a rider go back to the scene of a crash quicker than Neale there. Damn near jumped off the bike before it stopped. Sounds as tough Harris is basically ok but now speaking at least one octave higher!! Genuinely can't believe Harris is walking away from that at all least alone so quickly. Neale, Ritchings and Bailey gated and took the first bend level. The visitors levelled off on a 8-1. Neale made a woeful start and was trying desperately to get back in to the race, He charged into bend 1 lap 3 too fast. He drifted out and in trying to avoid Harris straightened up and rode into the side of Harris. As they tangled Harris got straightened up too and was driven hard into the fence. Lucky lad!! Neale is excluded from the re-run.
Re-Run: Good race again. Harris made an electric start to lead it from the gate. Ritchings had reach for the dirt on bend 3 to sling shot around the outside off bend 4 lap 1. Bailey then followed the move on bend 1 lap 1 to take 2nd. Harris kept pushing just didn't have the pace to get back on terms with them. Good ride by them all.

Heat 09: Williamson, Stokes, Cupitt, Perks - Engine Failure 3-3 33-24 62.7
Line Up: Perks, R/R - Williamson, Stokes, Cupitt
Comments: Williamson is for rider replacement.
Williamson all the way through pushed hard on the inside initially by Stokes. Pulled progressively further clear to win easily. Perks was 3rd and close to challenging Stokes when his bike suddenly slowed. The bike was still running. I'm not mechanically minded but hopefully a simple fix rather than a catastrophic engine blow up.

Heat 10: Clegg, Kinsley, Campos 3-3 36-27 62.1 (Neale - Fell / Excluded)
Line Up: Clegg, Neale, Kinsley, Campos
Comments: Race Stopped. Really awkward fall for Neale. Clipped a back wheel coming off bend 2 lap1 and went over the high-side. Very awkward looking fall but again I'm glad to say he's up quickly. Again trying too hard to make up for missing the jump badly I think. Such a shame he's ended with two exclusions because he had such a good start to the night with paid 7 from 3.
Re-Run: Clegg by a mile as you'd except. Most noteworthy was a very much improved ride by Kinsley. Looked a different rider. Perhaps taken till now to get the bike dialed in or get some confidence to attack what I think is probably a new track for him. Certainly he was no further behind Clegg than Stokes earlier.

Heat 11: Williamson, Bailey, Ritchings, Mogridge 3-3 39-30 62.7
Line Up: Williamson, Mogridge, Ritchings, R/R - Bailey
Comments: Bailey is for rider replacement.
What a race. You'll wait a long time and go a long way to see better at any level. Mogridge mad e a sensational start but Williamson drove well to over there first. Bailey steamed hard into bend 3 lap 1. I was convinced he'd gone in too fast but he hit the dirt and changed around Mogridge for 2nd coming off bend 4 lap 1. Mogridge wasn't talking that lying down and dived inside Bailey as the rounded bends 1 and 2 on lap 2. He found a gap to take 2nd place back. Bailey again hits the dirt on bends 3 and 4 to pass for 2nd again during lap 2. Mogridge is still trying to get back inside him when Ritchings suddenly enters the stage right in the last lap and half as he starts to challenge on the outside for 3rd. Mogridge held him for a lap but coming off 4 for the last time and Ritchings find room to squeeze between Mogridge and the fence to steal away the odd point. Cracking race by the three lads at the back. Top drawer entertainment.

Perks all the way. Kinsley really has come alive. He was riding wide, very wide and bold in the dirt. Got himself around Mogridge for 2nd. So wide through that Mogridge kept taking it back going tight and Kinsley re-taking the position as he fired himself off the bends. He eventually went too wide and clipped the fence off bend 3 which gave Mogridge some breathing room to settle into 2nd. Great stuff again.

Heat 13: Williamson, Clegg, Ritchings, Stokes 5-1 49-32 61.2
Line Up: Clegg, Williamson, Ritchings, Stokes
Comments: Williamson made a good gate and won it by half a straight. Even from bend 4 could see Clegg drop it about half an hour to late and was dead last from the gate. He let the visitors into bend 3 and then from the apex if you didn't know better you'd swear Clegg changed gear. He absolutely flew around the outside of Stokes and despite the gap closing fast coming off bend 4 he squeezed past Ritchings too with the throttled pinned wide open to take 2nd. Super move by the Captain.

Some of these boys have taken a brave pill tonight as they stick it in the dirt and hang on. This time it's a super move by Bailey. He put it out wide and let it pull his arms off to round Mogridge bends 3 and 4 lap 1 for 2nd. Cracking move.

Comments: Bit of a non event as Clegg takes it by half a straight ahead of Bailey. But I must stress that's not to detract from or belittle the efforts of Bailey tonight. He's been superb tonight. One of the best performances against exceptions I've seen all season.
