Referee: Craig Ackroyd
Heat Results
Heat 01: Ayres, Wilson-Dean, Andrews, Clegg 3-3 61.81
Line Up: Clegg, R/R - Ayres, Wilson-Dean, R/R - Andrews
Comments: Ayres and Andrews is for rider replacement.
Heathens away from the gate and looking comfortable. Clegg had a puncture and was passed late on both Eagles riders. That's the first time this season Clegg has crossed the line in 4th place. Up till then he'd only had 1 retirement and 2 exclusions, but none 4th places.

Heat 02: Andrews, Dugard, Govier, Smith 1-5 4-8 62.75
Line Up: Smith, Govier, Dugard, Andrews
Comments: Eagles by an absolute mile. Embarrassing for the Heathens. Smith was about half a la down on the Eagles and unable to turn the bike. Clearly only ever ridden slick tracks before.

Heat 04: Hopwood, Andrews, Williamson - Fell / Remounted, Govier - Fell 1-5 10-14 63.29

Heat 05: Wilson-Dean, Mogridge, Knuckey 2-4 12-18 63.28 (Ayres - Fell / Excluded)
Line Up: Ayres, Mogridge, Wilson-Dean, R/R - Knuckey
Comments: Knuckey is for rider replacement.
Race Stopped. Eagles pairing and Ayres between them all got hooked up on the run to the turn. Eagles duo got away with it. Ayres still down but on his knees clearly in some discomfort. Ayres and Wilson-Dean are both up now. All 4 back for the re-run.
Re-Run: Race Stopped. Ayres slipped off and Wilson-Dean did well to react and drop the bike quickly. Ayres was 2nd to Knuckey. Ayres is excluded from the re-run.
Re-Run X2: Wilson-Dean gets away clean. Mogridge did well to get himself around Knuckey bends 1 and 2. Nearly fell bend 3. Knuckey did well not to plough into him. After that they just got the laps done. Precisely zero entertainment value!

Heat 06: Clegg, Mogridge, Dugard, Hopwood - Fell / Remounted / Retired 5-1 17-19 60.46
Line Up: Clegg, R/R - Mogridge, Hopwood, Dugard

Heat 07: Knuckey, Owen, Williamson, Smith 1-5 18-24 63.38
Line Up: Williamson, Smith, Owen, Knuckey
Comments: Williamson dead last from the start. He took a brave pill and started chucking it in and just hanging on for dear life. It was regularly frightening but he got into 2nd and then started chasing hard for the lead. Nearly fell again at the end of lap 3 which allowed Owen back through. Good ride up front by Knuckey who looked relatively comfortable all the way from tapes to flag.

Heat 08: Awarded: Owen, Williamson, Andrews, Govier - Fell / Excluded 2-4 20-28
Line Up: R/R - Williamson, Govier, R/R - Owen, Andrews
Comments: Williamson and Owen is for rider replacement.
Race Stopped. Awful crash. Govier bike suddenly straightened up and spat him off. Andrews who was chasing him hard reacted immediately but was too close to do anything but run straight over him. Horrible crash for both riders. Race Awarded. Andrews was able to away after several mins. Sore wrist. Govier being helped away. He';'s complaining of sore ribs. Just for good measure the tractor has just damaged the backstraight fence.

Heat 09: Ayres, Mogridge, Dugard 5-1 25-29 61.46(Hopwood - Fell / Excluded)
Line Up: Ayres, Mogridge, Hopwood, Dugard
Comments: Stopped. Another nasty crash. Hopwood fell in front of Ayres. Ayres reacted well to minimize T he impact but he's clipped Hopwood's bike and taken a really nasty and heavy fall. Hopwood walked away. Ayres still down. People shouting out in the bar call it off and should never have started. Glad to say Ayres is able to walk away under his own steam. Apparently to be rerun without Hopwood. This is an appalling way to end any season let alone what may be your last.
Re-Run: Wow where did that come from. Dugard was creeping, then stopped and missed from the start. Heathens out front and assumed that was that. Dugard gave chase and steamed under both of them going into bend 3 lap 2 about 10mph faster than both home riders. And I mean literally that fast. Passed both, and somehow held it all together to stay on but obviously ended up out wide and both Heathens got back under him as they exit bend 4. What an effort through.

Heat 10: Clegg, Smith, Owen 5-1 30-30 61.33 (Knuckey - Fell / Excluded
Line Up: Clegg, R/R - Smith, Owen, Knuckey
Comments: Smith is for rider replacement.
Race Stopped. Knuckey fell bend 1 and is excluded from the re-run. Lucky lad as Smith managed to turn inside him and Owen somehow avoided him on the outside and also features in doing so. Owen still down for now. Owen up ad walks away. Looks a little winded but I think that's all.
Re-Run: Close start between Clegg and Owen from the gate caused Owen to back off a touch which allowed Smith to get clean into turn 1 behind Clegg. Smith rode a super race to hold as Owen tried hard to get through into 2nd.

Heat 11: (Dugard - Fell / Excluded)
Line Up: Williamson, Smith, Wilson-Dean, R/R - Dugard
Comments: Dugard is for rider replacement.
Race Stopped. Williamson leading lost it and almost fell bend 2 lap 1. Allowed Wilson-Dean through. Seemed to unnerve Smith how slowed and let Dugard through who then fell. Smith did well to avoid Dugard. Almost hit the fence himself. Dugard seemed to have his leg trapped under the bike as he tried to get up about 4 times before the referee was forced to stop it. Dugard excluded.
