Gates: Cradley on gates 1+3 in Heat 1.
Referee: Chris Durno
Heat Results
Heat 01: Ellis, Morris, Basford, Harris 3-3 56.2
Line Up: Morris, Basford, Ellis, R/R - Harris
Comments: Ellis away sharp and chopped across Morris on the run into bend 1. Morris quick and closed in a couple of times but then made slight errors to lose all he'd just made up. Basford never quite got close enough to trouble Ellis who looked smooth up front. Basford held on to 3rd despite drifting very wide a few times. That allowed Harris to be a threat throughout, but as with Morris never quite looked like coming through. Track looks grippy, surprised the race time wasn't quicker.

Heat 02: Harris, Bradley Andrews, Powell, Cupitt - Fell / Remounted 2-4 (5-7) 59.4
Line Up: Cupitt, Bradley Andrews, Harris, Powell
Comments: Even start between Harris and Bradley Andrews. Harris quickly levelled out and cleared off. Powell gave chance and chucked all but the kitchen sink at Bradley Andrews. Bradley Andrews doing well to hold a good 2nd place. Cupitt never in contention. Cupitt fell and remounted on bend 2 lap 4.

Heat 03: Perks, Chessell, Richard Andrews, Wood 3-3 (8-10) 57.6
Line Up: Chessell, Richard Andrews, Perks, Wood
Comments: Good race. Chessell with a typically sharp gate and Perks right after him. Chessell drifting out on bend 2 every time and eventually Perks takes full advantage. At the back Richard Andrews was recovering from a sluggish gate and Woods seemingly slowing. Richard Andrews through to 3rd last time down the backstraight, as he passed the smell of burning clutch fills the Monmore air. Explains Wood slowing.

Heat 04: Race Awarded: Bradley Andrews, Powell, Knight - Fell, Clegg - Retired 3-2 (11-12)
Line Up: Clegg, Bradley Andrews, Knight, Powell
Comments: Wow, lively heat! Clegg with bike problems as soon as he dropped the clutch lever. Got the bike rolling for a lap and half before pulling up. Eagles gated on a 5-1, Knight drifted way wide and nearly binned it. Bradley Andrews rode a super turns 1 and 2 and passed both Eagles down the backstraight of lap 1. Knight giving it hand fulls charging outside Bradley Andrews. He passed off bend 4 going into turn 3. Gave it too much enthusiasm into bends 1 and 2 of lap3 and parked it into the air fence. He got himself stuck, hence the stoppage, but seems otherwise fine.

Referee is cracking on with this. Reckon he wants to get into the bar for the 2nd half.
Heat 05: Re-Run: Richard Andrews, Chessell, Powell 5-1 (16-13) 59.2 (Ellis - Fell / Excluded)
Line Up: Chessell, Richard Andrews, Ellis, R/R - Powell
Comments: Race Stopped. Ellis leading by a mile going into bend 1 lap 2. Picked some unexpected grip and got launched towards one bouncy castle. Bailed out just in time and fortunately went straight under the air fence and away from the bike. As soon as the weight of the fence was lifted he got straight up unhurt. Ellis is excluded from the re-run. Lucky and he went in fast. Slight delay to action as a section of the air fence needs replacing.
Re-Run: Richard Andrews by a mile as he clean run first turn while Andrews and Chessell argued over the same square foot of shale. Richard Andrews a long way clear and Chessell comfortable in 2nd.
Sponsored by Splod
Heat 06: Morris, Basford, Harris, Knight - Retired 5-1 (21-14) 56.6
Line Up: Morris, Basford, Knight, Harris
Comments: Reckon Basford reacted first but Morris lighting away win. Heathens take a 5-1 with a bit to spare. Knight pulled up bends 3 and 4 lap 1 whilst last.
Sponsored by
Heat 07: Clegg, Perks, Wood, Cupitt - Retired 3-3 (24-17) 56.8
Line Up: Clegg, Cupitt, Perks, Wood
Comments: Perks chased hard all the way but Clegg had that one stitched up from tapes to flag. Cupitt packed up at end of lap 2.

Track's gone a bit patchy, Dried out a lot with some dust on the racing line but a few soft spots where all this month's rain has laid. Track work should sort it if the referee can leave the 2 minute buzzer alone for more than 5 minutes.
Knight has withdrawn from the meeting, no reason what the injury is.
Heat 08: Wood, Bradley Andrews, Basford, Powell - Fell 3-3 (27-20) 59.9
Line Up: Basford, Bradley Andrews, R/R - Wood, Powell
Comments: Wood all the way and well clear. Steady ride by the Heathens to take a welcome a shared heat. Powell fell on the first bend.
Sponsored by
Referee has the 2 minutes on before they've cleared the track. Suddenly realised he needed to cancel it to wait for official word from the pits on replacement for Knight!
Heat 09: Re-Run: Chessell, Harris 3-2 (30-22) 60.1 (Powell - Fell, Richard Andrews - Excluded)
Line Up: Chessell, Richard Andrews, PowellKnight, Harris
Comments: Race Stopped. Nasty crash. Heathens gate on a 501. Richard Andrews bike stopped. Powell couldn't avoid him and falls heavily. Luckily I'm pretty sure Harris missed Powell on the way past. Richard Andrews has turned around and gone straight back to check on Powell. Powell is up, but apparently has said he thinks he's done his collarbone. Richard Andrews is excluded and Powell can't take his place, only two riders in the re-run.
Re-Run: Chessell dangerously close to bend 2 fence once!
Sponsored by
I'm all for a meeting being run swiftly but this is ridiculous. Referee had the two minutes on while Chessell was slowing down on the first and 2nd bends and i don't mean after a celebration lap either!
Heat 10: Re-Run: Morris, Perks, Wood 3-3 (33-25) 57.5 (Basford - Fell / Excluded)
Line Up: Morris, Basford, Perks, Wood
Comments: Race Stopped. Basford found a soft spot on bends 3 and 4 of lap 1. Luckily got off it but I think he landed heavily on his knee. He's limped away heavily and the referee has the two minutes on while the first aiders are busy tending to Basford on the centre green. The lad's not even had time to take his helmet off yet. Basford's bike looks a little shorter than it was. Front forks bent back by the look of it. Basford excluded from the re-run.
Re-Run: What a race! Morris away but Perks charging hard. Perks rode an absolute stormer charging hard around the outside. They was little more than a fag paper between them more than once as Morris was desperate to cling on. Fantastic clean race.

Heat 11: Race Awarded: Clegg, Ellis, Whitehouse, Cupitt - Fell / Excluded 3-3 (36-28)
Line Up: Clegg, Cupitt, Ellis, R/R - Whitehouse
Comments: Ellis gated first but Clegg used a bit of home track advantage to steam under Ellis down the backstraight. Clegg was comfortable in front. Ellis was giving it everything in pursuit but nowhere near a challenging position as it was stopped with Clegg coming off bend 4 lap 3. Cupitt fell very heavily from 3rd. Looked to have a tank slapper going on into bend 1 lap 3. Went in fast but thankfully he's up.

INTERVAL
Heat 12: Perks, Chessell, Bradley Andrews, Harris 3-3 (39-31) 59.2
Line Up: Chessell, Bradley Andrews, Perks, Harris
Comments: Chessell gated and went wide (for a change). Perks turned back perfectly to cruise to the front down the backstraight. With fresh air he only thing in front Perks set sail to win with ease and looking good. Chessell still getting himself over the camber on bend 2 and getting far too close to the fence. Seems like at least one close call in nearly every ride lately. Hanging on and scoring good points through. Good stat and steady ride by Bradley Andrews again.

Heat 13: Clegg, Morris, Ellis, Harris 5-1 (44-32) 57.6
Line Up: Morris, Clegg, Ellis, HarrisKnight
Comments: Morris with a vital gate to get across Ellis who was off gate 1. That gave Clegg all the outside to himself to round the pair and take off up front. Morris comfortable in 2nd, Not been Ellis' night so far but could still have the last laugh in Heat 15.
Sponsored by Speedway Fiction www.speedwayfiction.co.uk
Bradley Andrews has been superb but is NOT rewarded with a fifth ride. Ridiculous!!
Heat 14: Wood, Richard Andrews, Cupitt, Harris 3-3 (47-35) 59.7
Line Up: Richard Andrews, Cupitt, Wood, HarrisPowell
Comments: Andrews with a sharp gate but drifted out a bit too much and Wood made a nice line around the first bend and backstraight. Richard Andrews chased but couldn't catch. At the back Harris passed Cupitt inside off turn 2 lap 2 only for Cupitt to give it a handful on the bottom bend to sweep back around him for 3rd.

Track Grading
Heat 15: Clegg, Perks, Ellis, Morris 3-3 (50-38) 57.4
Line-up: Morris, Clegg, Ellis, Perks
Comments: What a race to end. Ellis gated ahead. Clegg went high, Morris went low and Perks had missed it off gate 4. Clegg went neck and neck with Ellis into the bottom bend. Clegg just got the drive to come around Ellis. Morris decided to move out behind Ellis' back wheel coming off bend 4. Perks rode a storming first lap around the outside following Clegg's wheel tracks. As Morris was making his move on the home straight into lap 2 Perks carried his speed ans squeezed past the other two and avoided the fence in the process. Three abrest hurtling towards bend 1 for the 2nd time looked nailed on to end in carriage but they all came out the other side. Perks stayed in the dirt and went after Clegg, Going into the last lap it looked like Perks might get a run but Clegg realised just in time and moved over to cover the move. Just a few bike lengths back Morris was still throwing it all into get up on Ellis. Little in it between all 4 riders. Cracking race to end the night.

Some super races tonight. Best wishes too all who fall and got knocked about. I hope nobody is too badly hurt. Andrews is my man of the match. Basford has a twisted ankle. Purchase here and he says 6 to 8 weeks, that's unless they tell him he needs an operation - that would be game over for the season.
