Comments: Bowtell gated but Smith quickly got past him and Bowtell made an error on bends 3 and 4 of lap 1 which Parkinson-Blackburn took full advantage of to give Brummies the win.

Comments: Unsatisfactory start, Ritchings broke the tapes and Smith will take his place in the re-run.
Re-Run: Race Stopped. Mountain has taken a nasty bang into the boards on the backstraight of lap 1. He had gated but Hume went past him before he got out of shape and Mountain is excluded from the re-run. Ambulance coming onto track as Mountain is complaining about back pain. Luckily we have a 2nd paramedic tonight, so 2 minutes goes on for re-run.
