Heat Results
Heat 01: Re-Run X2: Morris, B Andrews, Brennan 5-1 56.25 (R Andrews - 2 Minutes / Excluded, Ellis - Fell / Excluded)
Line Up: Morris,R Andrews - 2 Mins B Andrews, Ellis, R/R - Brennan
Comments: R Andrews excluded for missing the 2 minutes and B Andrews replaces in the re-run. Might explain the delay in starting the meeting possibly a dodgy one to give R Andrews time, although ultimately it's up to the referee to get the meeting started.
Re-Run: Race Stopped. Nasty crash for Ellis. He lifted as they were to come off bend 2. Got it down but couldn't avoid clipping the back of Morris and high-sliding. Heavy landing. Good to see Ellis got up and walk away after a couple of minutes. Ellis is excluded from the re-run. Hopefully it's just his pride that's dented. Two minutes cancelled as Morris bike has an injury,
Re-Run X2: Morris and B Andrews led all the way. Brennan never far away and got more confident with each passing lap. He kept B Andrews honest but the Heathen rode a steady and safe line.

Heat 02: Jenkins, B Andrews, Basford, Powell - Fell 3-3 (8-4) 58.44
Line Up: Basford, B Andrews, Jenkins, Powell
Comments: Even half lap between Jenkins and B Andrews but Jenkins has the best line and levelled out ahead into bend 3. He went clear with an impressive ride up front. Powell oversildes and slips off on bend 2 lap 2.

Heat 03: Ayres, Knight, Wood, Lawlor 3-3 (11-7) 56.87
Line Up: Ayres, R/R - Lawlor, Knight, Wood
Comments: Ayres all the way. Super ride. Eagles share it with ease from Lawlor. Took Ayres about 3 seconds to win the crowd over by celebrating the win like he'd just won the world title. standing up saluting the crowd and giving the Heathens body colour some love.

Heat 04: Re-Run: Perks, Clegg, B Andrews, Powell 3-3 (14-10) 56.62
Line Up: Clegg, B Andrews, Perks, Powell
Comments: Unsatisfactory start, slightly twitchy start but then so was the last one to be honest. All 4 back for the re-run.
Re-Run: Perks with a very impressive ride. Clegg made a pigs ear of it and had to pass B Andrews down the backstraight before targeting Perks. In truth Clegg never get anywhere near him! Great ride for Perks and he was rather pleased with himself.

So we're 4 heats in and Porkie (centre green announcer) hasn't been warned once for waving his arms around. Well II never, perhaps it is just one team in the entire history of visiting teams to Monmore Green that has a problem with that after all.
Heat 05: Re-Run: Ayres, Ellis, Brennan, Lawlor 3-3 (17-13) 57.06
Line Up: Ayres, R/R - , Ellis, R/R - Brennan
Comments: Unsatisfactory start, personally think it looked worse that it was as Ayres made a flyer and Brennan was left standing 3 bike lengths behind. All 4 back for the re-run.
Re-Run: What a fantastic ride by Ayres. Ellis was absolutely all over him for four laps but Ayres clings on through sheer guts and determination. He's now celebrating like he's won the American presidential election. Don't think I mentioned how much I love Ayres enough last week so I'll do it tonight.

Heat 06: Perks, Morris, R Andrews, Jenkins 3-3 (20-16) 56.82
Line Up: Morris, R Andrews, Perks, Jenkins
Comments: Perks was away and gone. Morris couldn't get near him. Great ride. Perks is a rider I was disappointed to lost this year and I'd love to have him back. R Andrews had to pass Jenkins for 3rd along the home straight at the end of lap 1 and was comfortable in 3rd for rest of race.

Heat 07: Clegg, Knight, Wood, Basford - Fell 3-3 (23-19) 56.38
Line Up: Clegg, Basford, Knight, Wood
Comments: Basford made a solid start and got in between the Eagles on bend 1. Got himself into 3rd and tried to give it the big one on the bottom turn to go around Knight too. He drifted out and slipped off. I can't knock the lad for thinking it was on and giving it his best but my word we need those odd points at the back tonight.

Heat 08: Perks, Jenkins, B Andrews, R Andrews 1-5 (24-24) 57.31
Line Up: R Andrews, B Andrews, R/R - Perks,Powell Jenkins
Comments: Easy maximum for the visitors.

Heat 09: Ayres, Perks, Jenkins, B Andrews 3-3 (27-27) 57.19
Line Up: Ayres, R/R - B Andrews, Perks, Jenkins
Comments: Ayres all the way after seeing off a determined effort to move him off by Perks. Ayres wet clear to record a 3rd impressive win. B Andrews gave it a go to dive bomb Jenkins into bend 3 lap 1 but slowly lost a little ground at the back. Eagles will be happy with this.

Heat 10: Morris, Knight, Wood, R Andrews 3-3 (30-30) 57.00
Line Up: Morris, R Andrews, Knight, Wood
Comments: Morris with a super start and he was gone. R Andrews gated 2nd but the visitors immediately went past and Wood held on to 3take 3rd well under pressure. Another solid heat for the Eagles.

Heat 11: Ellis, Clegg, Brennan, Basford - Fell 2-4 (32-34) 56.63
Line Up: Clegg, Basford, Ellis, R/R - Brennan
Comments: Clegg gated but drifted a touch too far and Ellis passed down the inside backstraight. Clegg was all over him. He tried the inside and outside, to no avail, however and the visitors edge ahead.

Heat 12: Ayres, Knight, Jenkins, B Andrews 3-3 (35-37) 58.12
Line Up: Ayres, B Andrews, Knight, Jenkins
Comments: I love Ayres, He gated but Knight rode a superb bends 3 &4 lap 1 to pass him. Ayres turned it hard off bend 4 and rode tight into bend 1 on lap 2 and steamed hard, like really hard. under Knight and took him to the fence. Knight to his credit had a go back and kept Ayres honest and immediately shook hands after the race. Many a prima dona would have taken exception to the hard move but he's taken it is good hard riding. Good lad. Ayres after his last ride pulled up the bike to face the crowd just before the start line and with both hands pointed to himself and then the shale in a very popular gesture that suggested he'd quite like to be here. Oh and he wears red, white and green by the way.

Heat 13: Awarded: Morris, Ellis, Clegg, Perks - Fell / Excluded 4-2 (39-39)
Line Up: Morris, Clegg, Ellis, Perks
Comments: What a Heat 13. Perks sharp away and Morris just able to get off bend 2 ahead. Clegg got shuffled to the back. Perks and Ellis were all over Morris with Clegg charging. Morris was desperately trying to slow it down and was looking around for Clegg in his hardest Heat 13 of the year it was a brave and commendable attempt. Clegg steamed under the Eagles pair into bend 3 lap 2 as the Eagles fought hard to attack Morris and hold Clegg. They were virtually 3 abreast around bends 3 & 4 but just not enough room for Clegg. Ellis moved into 2nd. Clegg got a line inside Perks bend 1 for the last time. Perks drifted out and had to bail out before the fence into bend 2 lap 4. Referee stopped it for safety with Perks still down as the riders came to the finish line. Morris just about held on still slowing and looking for Clegg. Race Awarded.

Heat 14: Wood, B Andrews, R Andrews, Powell 3-3 (42-42) 59.43
Line Up: R/R - R Andrews,Basford B Andrews, Wood, Powell
Comments: B Andrews gated but rode a touch too wide on the opening lap and Wood held a nice steady slightly tighter line to move smoothly for the lead. Good ride for Wood. He can be proud of his night's work.

Heat 15: Ellis, Morris, Perks, Ayres 2-4 (44-46) 57.10
Line-up: Morris, Ayres, Ellis, Perks
Comments: A potential stormer ruined by a tight first bend. Ayres gated just ahead but Ellis was driving well to the bend. Middle of the first bend Ayres tried to turn it hard and cover Ellis inside him. Overlocked and came so very close to high-sliding. Held on but fell well adrift. Ellis was well clear in front. Morris was left clear of Perks in 3rd. Well spread out although riders were charging as hard as possible. Congrats to the Eagles. They've edged it but in truth are worthy winners with a better all round team performance. Don't worry Ayres I still love you.
