Heat Results
Heat 01: Re-Run: Awarded: Priest, Dwyer, Ayres, Whitmore - Fell / Excluded 3-3
Line Up: Ayres, Dwyer, Priest, Whitmore
Comments: Unsatisfactory start, Ayres stalled at the start. The pits all asleep as per at speedway. Pedersen would sack the lot. Even the other riders'' mechanics. He will go off 15 metres in the re-run. New rule that nobody told us about. If you go off 15 metres everybody now starts from original gates. They don't change to put the riders off 15 metres to gate 4.
Re-Run: Uneventful really. Ayres looked to jump the star. He passed Whitmore backstraight of lap 1 for 3rd. Looked like a chain dumped Whitmore on bend 4 lap 3. Priest looked quite quick.
Sponsored by www.jaybeadesigns.co.uk/
Heat 02: Re-Run: Lawlor, Burton, Locke, Hampshire 5-1 (8-4) 64.5
Line Up: Burton, Lawlor, Locke, Hampshire
Comments: Unsatisfactory start. Personally couldn't see any jump, Hampshire missed it by days. Burton warned to stay still in the re-run.
Re-Run: Heathens away sharp. Lawlor looked good and very comfortable a long way clear. Locke pushed Burton all the way. Burton has an odd style but it works.

Heat 03: Re-Run: Greenwood, Campos, Harris, Kinsley 4-2 (12-6) 62.4
Line Up: Greenwood, Harris, Kinsley, Campos
Comments: Kinsley excluded for missing the 2 minutes. Yep speedway is back and still a shambles lol, Not a clean sheet to a heat yet! Kinsley is off 15 metres in the re-run. and for some reason they're now changing gates. No explanation why it's being done now and not before. It's a pathetic shambles of a sport, it really is!
Re-Run: Campos with a quick start but Greenwood straight under him off bend 2. Harris pushed hard all the way and Kinsley made decent ground without quite changing them.
Sponsored by andout www.canadianspeedway.com
Heat 04: Race Awarded: Perry, Phillips, Hampshire, Lawlor - Fell / Excluded 3-3 (15-9)
Line Up: Perry, Lawlor, Phillips, Hampshire
Comments: Lawlor stalled at the gate but got it started. Now having help with his steel shoe as well. Almost out of time so he's ripped it off. Will be interesting!
Race Stopped. Big one at end of backstraight. Fantastic start by Heathens. Lawlor hold 2nd brilliantly ahead of Phillips. Clearly looked like it was getting harder each lap and Phillips catching. Off bend 2 last lap Phillips got outside as they charged into bend 3 Phillips has turned in too early. Still on the backstraight and he's left Lawlor no way to avoid contact and Lawlor high sided into the fence on bend 3. Phillips down too but jumped straight up. Lawlor took a couple of mins but is up too. Lawlor excluded (wrongly IMO), nothing malicious, just racing, but no idea what he could have done about it.

Heat 05: Re-Run: Harris, Greenwood, Priest, Whitmore 5-1 (20-16) 63.1
Line Up: Greenwood, Harris, Priest, Whitmore
Comments: Less than a minute remaining and there was nobody at tapes. Priest stalled by pit gate and is excluded. He will go off 15 metres in the re-run on his original gate.
Re-Run: Heathens take advantage. Super start for the Heathens. Notably Harris. Greenwood road a good, sensible race and just sat behind him. Priest closed well. Another lap would have got close perhaps.
Sponsored by Splod
Heat 06: Re-Run: Ayres, Dwyer, Locke 5-1 (25-11) 62.5 (Phillips - Fell / Excluded)
Line Up: Ayres, Dwyer, Phillips, Locke
Comments: Race Stopped. Finally a bit of put your front wheel in. your front wheel out as Ayres almost, ALMOST, went early. Then with Phillips making a flying start Ayres chucked it in up the inside. I've got a feeling tyre to tyre Ayres' back has clipped Phillips' front right at bend it into turn 3. There was a big speed differential as Phillips looked slow going in. Seemed a bit of a front wheel wobble making the think there was a little contact. Any how Phillips is excluded and thankfully he's up and fine, unhappy, but fine. Locke did well to bail out and miss Phillips. He's up and fine too.
Re-Run: Heathens taking advantage again. Think Ayres just won the inaugural speedway Olympics or something. He's lapping up the cheers. Top bloke, loves it.

Heat 07: Re-Run: Perry, Campos, Kinsley, Burton 3-3 (28-14) 62.3
Line Up: Perry, Burton, Kinsley, Campos
Comments: Unsatisfactory start, Campos didn't move. Burton adjudged to have jumped. Gets 2nd warning and therefore is excluded. He will go off 15 metres in the re-run.
Re-Run: Perry away. Campos tried an outside one off bend 2. Cheeky! Didn't work. Might have done a few years and pounds ago (sorry Scott)

Heat 08: Lawlor, Dwyer, Whitmore, Hampshire 5-1 (33-17) 64.4
Line Up: Dwyer, Lawlor, Whitmore, Hampshire
Comments: Easy as you like for the Heathens. Even with ballast added to his left leg Lawlor looks good.
Sponsored by
Heat 09: Greenwood, Harris, Phillips, Locke 5-1 (38-16) 63.9
Line Up: Greenwood, Harris, Phillips, Locke
Comments: Well the tapes are broken. No one touched them and they've broke anyway. Start marshall had to hold the dangling part out of the way. Super gating and the Heathens take off looking very comfortable. This is impressive stuff so far by the home away riders (as opposed to the just away riders)!!

Heat 10: Ayres, Campos, Kinsley, Dwyer 3-3 (41-19) 62.81
Line Up: Ayres, Dwyer, Kinsley, Campos
Comments: Ayres away. Thought Dwyer might go with him around outside of Campos but the 'Young' star levelled out nicely to go well clear 2nd. Super ride from the back by Kinsley to slowly but surely reel in Dwyer and go around him off bend 4 and going into the last lap. Best racing move we've seen tonight. Fancy Kinsley to improve a lot this year. Come late summer may prove a good signing.
No interval. Few spots of drizzle but no more than that. Messing around so could call to just crack on.

Heat 11: Perry, Priest, Burton, Whitmore 4-2 (45-21) 63.4
Line Up: Perry, Burton, Priest, Whitmore
Comments: Perry away and looking very good. He loves it here so not shocked he's scoring well but Yes making good clean starts too. Whitmore pushed Burton. Burton stands and gets all his weight forward towards end of straight. Unconventional to stay the least and he loses straight line speed. That said he gets a good smooth ride through the bends by doing it so it's all good for now.
Sponsored by
Heat 12: Kinsley, Greenwood, Lawlor, Locke 3-3 (48-24) 62.6
Line Up: Greenwood, Lawlor, Kinsley, Locke
Comments: Told you he;d improve but didn't except it THAT quick. Super ride Greenwood away well but Kinsley stormed around him like he wasn't there off 2 and took off for a very impressive win. Looked good up front.
Sponsored by
Heat 13: Perry, Ayres, Priest, Campos 5-1 (53-25) 62.5
Line Up: Ayres, Perry, Priest, Phillips
Comments: Wow. Perry missed that but put it in the dirt and steamed around everybody on one bend. Took off up front. I think he's just laid down a marker for Ayres. If you want to be number 1 Ayres you're going to have to earn it. Priest reasonably close for two laps but slowly lost ground.
Sponsored by Speedway Fiction www.speedwayfiction.co.uk
Heat 14: Campos, Harris, Burton, Hampshire 3-3 (56-28) 64.0
Line Up: Harris, Burton, Campos, Hampshire
Comments: Nice start and reasonably easy for Campos. Heathens missed it for once. Harris eased quickly into 2nd on backstraight and chased hard all the way but never looked likely to pass. Solid ride again through. Super return to Heathens colours for Harris.
Almost a shame there was no interval tonight. They're rocking the 80's mix tape as usual here at the Perry Barr. All the cool kids love a bit of Erasure, right?!
Sponsored by Splod
Heat 15: Re-Run X2: Perry, Ayres, Phillips 5-1 (61-29) 63.1 (Kinsley - Fell / Excluded)
Line-up: Ayres, Perry, Phillips, Kinsley
Comments: Race Stopped. Ayres shut off middle off bend 1 and straightened up a bit. Kinsley off gate 4 perhaps a little unsighted had to react to it and went down fast. Luckily he looks to have bailed out in a way he wanted to so to speak and jumps straight up. Warning to Phillips for the re-run.
Re-Run: Race Stopped. Kinsley's bike has gone immediately he dropped the clutch. Chain looks to have hit him hard. Initially couldn't clear himself or bike from the track. Referee on the ball and recognised it and stopped it nice and early. Kinsley limped away but that's going to be sore!! He is obviously excluded from the re-run.
Re-Run X2: What a night for Perry in his return to Heathens colours. Untouchable all night. Sneaky one by Phillips on bends 1 & 2 lap 2 almost got a stiff up the inside of Ayres. Ayres changed gear and took off within a lap. Super performance by Heathens. Didn't except anything like a comfortable a night as that. Burton did his bit but Lawlor and Harris in particular looked good. Dwyer with a very respectable score to back the rest up.
King's Lynn will get better but they have lads out of their depth at the moment based entirely in this showing. They'll improve through, I've no doubt.
