Sorry for the late end of season message, this year has not been a good one for Speedway or for me personally as my wonderful and amazing dad passed away almost 3 weeks ago after complications from a minor medical procedure.
This year, through Covid, lockdowns, restrictions etc, has meant that the season never really got off the ground. All the plans that clubs had, all the money laid out by promotions, riders and fans alike, down the tubes. It's going to be hard going for all of us recovering from the impact of this year and sadly, not everyone will make it through unscathed.
The Speedway family will need to come together in support of each other in the coming months and possibly even years, to try to ensure the continued survival of our sport. Once it is safe to do so and restrictions ease and the new season dawns, please support your respective clubs, be mindful of what they and your fellow fans have been through in this horrendous year and let's get back to doing what we enjoy most....watching speedway.
I'll sign off now but before I go, here is a little link to a video raising funds for the Ben Fund and CLIC Sargent produced by the Plymouth Gladiators..please support and donate if you can.
