Comments: Becker with a great gate, but Musielak cuts back inside to take the lead off bend 2. Douglas round Sedgmen bend 3, lap 1.

Comments: Stopped. Unsatisfactory start. All 4 back. Kerr warned for being impatient.
Rerun: Flint with a cracking start. Kerr round him in to the lead off bend 2. Worrall falls bend 4, lap 1 at the back and excluded. Up and ok.
DELAY WHILE AIR FENCE IS REPAIRED
Rerunx2: Cracking start from Flint. Mountain steamed inside bend 1, lap 2. Close between all 3 riders throughout, then Kerr took a big handful into bend 3, lap 4 and snatched 2nd on the line.

Line Up: Ellis, Howarth,Morris Flint, Kemp
Comments: Morris and Howarth raced each other into the tapes. Morris wins by a short head. Howarth gets a warning, Morris excluded. Tatum, unaware of the rules, believes Kemp will be alone in the race now. Flint replacing Morris.
Rerun: Flint best away, but Ellis round him off bend 2, and Howarth follows suit off bend 4. Tigers through to the final

Comments: Douglas gets away with a flier, while Becker makes up for it by crawling off the line. Kerr inside Douglas off bend 2. Holder steams into 2nd going in to bend 3 and that was that.

Comments: Masters away best and is helped by Holder, inadvertently, squeezing Musielak down the back straight. Musielak round the boards round bends 3 and 4, but found Masters in his way and has to slow his momentum. Holder took up the challenge and tried inside, outside, diagonal, the works, but Masters held on.
