Comments: STOPPED: Palm Toft very square into the first bend, Blödorn and Lindgren move wide, and Kurtz is pushed into the first bend fence - he bike bounces along, and he disappears under the fence! All 4 back.
Restart: STOPPED! Repeat, except this time Kurtz is visible and his bike is under the airbag! All 4 back.
Restart x2: Palm Toft & Blödorn away quickest, Kurtz hangs back and switches to the inside, Lindgren very wide and at the back. Blödorn leading, and on Bends 1&2 Lap 2, Kurtz comes under Palm Toft to take second down the back straight. Palm Toft retires before the end of the lap, Lindgren never close.

Comments: Ben Cook around all of them off Bend 2 to take a lead which was unchallenged. Lidsey in second, but Brennan gets round him off Bend 4, and going into B1, L2 he drops it onto the white line, and Lidsey has to go so wide that Pawlicki came through.

Jake Mulford: This is the right time for me to take the opportunity. After my injury, I hadn't ridden since July last year, so didn't want to commit, but now it feels good, with fewer matches left. Heat 8 wasn't what I thought the track would be like, so have gone back to my earlier set-up, although my next ride is harder.

Comments: FTG. Slight wobble for Kurtz off Bend 4 Lap 3, when he hit some of the very deep dirt on the outside - but he's been untouchable.

FTG. Ben Cook tried to squeeze outside Lampart on home straight going into lap 2, but Lampart held him wide and Cook dropped to the back.

Comments: Lindgren finally got the outside line to work, looking very quick outside Kurtz for the whole of the first lap, taking the lead as he dived into B1, L2. Brennan tried different lines, but couldn't challenge Kurtz, and Lidsey looked for gaps left by Brennan, but was also unable to challenge.
