Aces gate. Kurtz does a sublime job on Lap 1 to protect Zischke. Aces clear from Lap 2 with Kurtz constantly checking to see where the Brummies were. Musielak pulling some weird shapes off Bend 2 Lap 2 and drops to the back.

Comments: Tight start but Brummies are on a 5-1. Only briefly as Zischke gets round Smith on the backstraight. Mulford dive bombs into Bend 3 Lap 1 and gets under Smith. Smith and Mulford neck and neck on Lap 2. Mulford pulls clear and gets by Zischke on the last lap, closes in on Hagon but runs out of time.
