What a race. Eagles gated in front, Crump split them on the back straight, went wide on bend 4 and cut back to take the lead on bend 2 lap 1. Nicholls did the same on lap 3. Gjedde passed Woodward on the inside of bend 2 lap 2

Belle Vue have held there minutes silence for the late Tim Stone (RIP) and it has been fantastically observed by everyone there.
Paramedics are checking on Jankowski, seems he has aggravated his shoulder injury in Heat 3
Jankowski has been withdrawn from the meeting with a shoulder injury
Just been announced that Jim McGregor is the ref tonight, texted thinks it's a little late in the day for that, I agree
