Comments:
Sue has been there for a day trip from sounds of it. Had a track walk and a tour of the pits. Kids have all got riders autographs. Looks like it's going to be a bumper crowd.
Weather is gorgeous, lovely and hot with clear blue skies.
Another update - Still waiting for confirmed line up. Weather is still glorious and the crowd is massive! There are even people on the 4th bend!
Minute silence for (the late) Tim Stone. R.I.P
Line ups confirmed.
Ipswitch win toss and take gates 1 and 3.
Heat 1: Johnno takes R/R. Very tough 1st lap by Ippo pair with Hans losing out and retiring on 1st lap. (why is Sue calling Risager 'Wiggle'?)
Heat 2: Schramm fell in a tough 1st/2nd bend but stayed down too long and is excluded from re-run.
Some very determined riding today by both teams.
Heat 2: The re-run did us (Ippo) a favour as Kroner missed the start in 1st running.
Heat 3: Peterborough on a 5-1 but Johnno got past Vissing on 2nd lap, last bend and and (Sue stuttering?) Miskowiak passed Vissing on start of 3rd lap.
Heat 4: Schramm passed King on back straight, 1st lap to join Hampel at front but loads of pressure from King for a couple of laps until he finally passed Schramm on back straight, 3rd lap.
Heat 5: Johnno recieved some rough stuff (ooo err) from Hans and fell. Hans excluded from re-run although nice to see Hans ride round to check if Johnno was ok.
Heat 6: Miskowiak takes R/R. Swiderski and Miskowiak have a bad looking crash somewhere on the track (the boss didn't make that bit clear!). Both up and ok. Swiderski excluded from re-run.
There is lots of dust!
Heat 7: Bjerre taking a tactical ride, if he beats an opposing rider he will score double points. Bjerre messed up Vissing on 2nd bend.
Heat 8: Hans taking a tactical substitute ride off 15 metres in place of Moller, if he beats an opposing rider he will score double points. Hans fell 1st bend but remounted just in time as red light came on for Schramm falling on 3rd/4th bend. Schramm excluded from re-run. Bloody excellent heat (the bosses poshness shines through!). Swiderski tried and pressured 'Wiggle' for 4 laps and got the win on the run in to the line.
They now have a dust bowl Very unusual for here!
Heat 9: Miskowiak from gat with Johnno joining him after 2nd bend. King pressured but couldn't find a way past.
Heat 10: Hampel takes R/R. One minute left on clock, Bjerre having bike problems, Moller has given him his bike. Huge distance from Ippo pair to Pboro pair. Vissings bike failed 3rd lap, 4th bend.
Heat 11: Tough 1st bend between Hans and Hampel with Hans winning out.
Heat 12: Ippo gated to a 5-1. Bjerre tried to pressure but could not get past. Bjerre had bike problems lap 4, 1st bend while 3rd.
Heat 13: Swiderski takes R/R. Swiderski went between both Panthers on 2nd bend to take the lead.
Heat 14: Moller pulled up on last lap. No idea who came 1st as they crossed line together and it hasn't even been announced who won!
Heat 15: Line Up - Johnston Miskowiak Andersen King Ippo win toss and take gates 1 and 3
King and Miskowiak, one inside and one outside past Hans on back straight, lap 1. Johnno got close to passing him too.
Many thanks to Sue for the texts, you lot for watching and keeping me company, and to myself for putting up with you 'orrible lot!
