COMMENTS:
Mr Texter Boothers is trackside, the report is "nice and sunny, the track looks like a track does - I don't know if it's slick or not I'm not a rider" Classic text to start the evening off.
Impeccable minutes silence for the two sad deaths this week, Tim Stone and Dennis Beeforth.
All comments are made by the texter and as such are likely to be incorrect and certainly biased ;D
Boothers would like to welcome any Bandits fans at the STMP and also on the forum.
Glyn Taylor and jason Pipe are joint team managers tonight and on Saturday as Brian Havelock is away on holiday.
Berwicks new signing hasn't arrived due to travel problems so Gary Beaton replaces him tonight.
Ht 1; Giffard takes the R/r ride in Blue. From the tapes, Giffard didn't make the first corner.
Ht 2; Re-Run; Mckinna broke tapes and was excluded, he will now 15 metres back.
Good gate from Bugeja but Giffard was a good deal faster. Pretty decent ride from Aarnio but never really challenged.
Ht 3; McKinna takes the R/R ride in Yellow. Re-Run; All 4 back Red & Blue warned.
McKinna led from the tapes, chased hard by Grieves who dived under him on the final bend. Ref gave win to Grieves but looked too close to call from here. Auty was miles behind.
Ht 4; Aarnio in as r/c replacing McKinna in Yellow. Re-Run; Proctor and Beaton both fell on first bend, all riders ok and back for Re-Run. Great race Aarnio gated and looked good but Proctor gave a textbook example of an outside pass. What a signing this lad is!
Ht 5; From the tapes with Rymel always in contention.
Ht 6; Bugeja in as r/r in Blue. Easy for Havelock, Good effort by Bugeja.
Ht 7; McKinna is r/r in Yellow. Good gate from Makovsky, and another good ride from Bugeja and Proctor who was happy to settle for the draw.
Track watering and grading before the next heat.
Ht 8; Proctor in as r/r in Red. Excellent, Proctor gated but seemed to get caught up by the change to the track Magosi passed him. Giffard came from the back into third at the start of 2nd lap, Proctor went under Magosi on 2nd bend lap 2 and wa then chased down by Giffard on the last lap.
Ht 9; McKinna r/c for Beaton in Green. From the start, a much better effort by Auty who pushed Aarnio all the way and nearly nicked 2nd.
Ht 10; Auty in as r/r in Blue, Aarnio in as r/r in Yellow. All over after the first corner when Havelock pulled up.
Ht 11; Re-Run; All 4 back. Two good tussles, Proctor passes Rymel for a good win and Bugeja overtakes Magosi for another good point.
******* SHORT INTERVAL *******
Dick Barrie is on the mic and is saying the sport is fun but being spoiled by saddo's typing s%#t onto Internet forums! He has a point, but also a short memory when it comes to himself having a pop at riders over the mic and being fined, pot and kettle anyone?
he has just had a go at the short sighted ref always giving points to red or blue, seems to be a law unto himself!
Ht 12; Makovsky takes a t/r. Good first bend by Grieves and a good effort as well from Giffard who was always well in touch.
Ht 13; Easy 5-1, good team riding but not really needed.
Ht 14; Aarnio in as r/c for the r/r ride. Good race, Aarnio is impressive but another great effort by Bugeja to battle through for 2nd.
Ht 15;
Proctor, Grieves, Rymel, Makovsky
Stunning hard first bend by Rymel who takes everyone wide. Bandits on a 5-1 at the end of 1st lap. First Proctor then Grieves pass Makovsky and it's then chuck a blanket over them time! Brilliant last effort by Grieves nearly gets it on the line.
Grieves and Rymel shook hands after the race, no hard feelings after the hard first turn.
Many thanks to Boothers for texting as always and to you all for looking in this evening, hope you enjoyed it.
