Heat Results
Heat 01: Simmons, Simmonds, Felton, Starke (R) 4-2, 69.0
Line Up: Simmons, Felton, Simmonds, Starke
Comments: Nick gated into the lead, with Simmonds appearing to almost clamp his partner Starke to the inside. Felton was at the back but did well to avoid Starke who retired going into bend 1 lap 2.

Heat 02: Hill, Berwick, Gough, Reade 5-1; 9-3, 73.3
Line Up: Berwick, Hill, Gough, Reade
Comments: Hill makes the gate of his life to lead, whilst Berwick did well to stay on his bike after locking up 3rd and 4th bends of lap 1 whilst on the outside of Gough. However Berwick did make the move stick on the 2nd bend of lap 2 to take the paid win for the Islanders. Reade looking unsteady at the back. Possibly the only Islanders reserves 5-1 so far this season!

Heat 03: Simmons, Stephens, Wright, Bates 4-2; 13-5, 70.2
Line Up: Wright, R/R Simmons, Bates, Stephens
Comments: Simmons takes the 1st r/r ride for the Islanders. A little movement at the start from Simmons allows Stephens to lead from the gate, and it gets very close around the 3rd and 4th bends of and into the home straight of lap 1. But Simmons sweeps around Stephens on 2nd bend of lap 2 to take the win. Wright a distant 3rd with Bates a bit further back.

Heat 04: Hopwood, Hughes, Hill, Reade 4-2; 17-7, 69.5
Line Up: Hopwood, Hill, Hughes, Reade
Comments: Tapes held for ages as a few riders moving, and Hill after making his best ever start last time, makes his worst ever this time but still comes out of bend 2 ahead of Reade. Hopwood a bend infront of Hughes and it was fairly spread out between all 4 riders.

***Weather update: The clouds are gathering and its getting mighty black above the stadium!***
Heat 05: SIMMONDS, Felton, Starke, Wright (R) 2-7; 19-14, 70.5
Line Up: Wright, R/R Felton, Simmonds, Starke
Comments: Felton is the r/r for the Islanders and Simmonds takes a tactical ride for the Devils. Close 1st bend but Simmonds comes out infront. Islanders pair did well to keep Starke behind them, until the final bend, when Wright retired allowing Starke through for 3rd spot.

Heat 06: Simmons, Hughes, Gough, Felton 3-3; 22-17, 70.1
Line Up: Simmons, Felton, Hughes, Gough
Comments: Devils gated onto a 4-2 with Hughes leading but both are gobbled up Simmons and Felton respectively, and the Islanders exited bend 2 on a 4-2 of their own. Gough though trying hard at the back went under Felton on the 4th bend of lap 3 to take 3rd.

Heat 07: Stephens, Hopwood, Bates, Berwick 2-4; 24-21, 71.8
Line Up: Hopwood, Berwick, Bates, Stephens
Comments: Standard stuff from Stephens as he jetted away from the tapes, closely followed by Hopwood, and although Hopwood was always close, he couldn't find his way past. Bates a comfortable 3rd.

Heat 08: Starke, Felton, Hill, Gough 3-3; 27-24, 73.0
Line Up: Felton, Hill, Starke, Reade Gough
Comments: Gough replaces Reade for the Devils. Panic at the start line for the Islanders as two blue helmets turn up! Felton makes it back though with just 10 seconds to spare. Starke gates into the lead where he stays, but a good 1st bend from Hill allows Felton around the outside of Gough.

Heat 09: Hughes, Wright, Reade, Hopwood (R) 2-4; 29-28, 70.8
Line Up: Wright, R/R Hopwood, Hughes, Gough Reade
Comments: Reade replaces Gough for the Devils and Hopwood is the Islanders rider replacement. Great gate from Hopwood who gets out into the lead closely followed by Hughes. Hopwood held onto the lead but retired on the final bend allowing the other 3 riders through. Lucky for Reade it was only 4 laps though!! (Im guessing he was struggling or rather far back?)

Heat 10: Re-run: Stephens, Simmons, Felton, Bates 3-3; 32-31, 70.8
Line Up: Simmons, Felton, Bates, Stephens
Comments: There will be a re-run after lots of fidgeting at the start. In the re-run Stephens gated well again, with Simmons in hot pursuit, but he couldn't catch him and had to settle for 2nd. Felton did well to hold off Bates in 3rd.

Heat 11: Simmonds, Hopwood, Starke, Berwick 2-4; 34-35, 70.7
Line Up: Hopwood, Berwick, Simmonds, Starke
Comments: Awful gate by the Islanders pair, but Hopwood still manages to exit bend 2 in 2nd place. But he had lost too much ground on Simmonds to challenge by then, as the lead changes hands!

Heat 12: Wright, Bates, Hill, Gough 4-2; 38-37, 72.0
Line Up: Wright, Hill, Bates, Gough
Comments: Islanders gated into a 5-1 lead, but Bates came on strong into the 3rd bend to take 2nd, only to have Hill re-pass on the home straight. They continued to swap places, until the final bend when Hill ran out of steam, fantastic race. Wright clear out front, as Gough was at the back.

Heat 13: Simmons, Hughes, Simmonds, Hopwood 3-3; 41-40, 69.8
Line Up: Simmons, Hopwood, Simmonds, Hughes
Comments: Nervy start again but Simmons held the lead. Hopwood close to getting 3rd, but just squeezed out. From gate.

Heat 14: Stephens, Wright, Gough, Hill 2-4; 43-44, 72.7
Line Up: R/R Wright, Berwick Hill, Stephens, Reade Gough
Comments: Wright takes the final r/r ride for the Islanders, whilst Hill replaces Berwick and Gough replaces Reade for the Devils. Wright makes a good gate, but isn't quick enough to take Stephens from the outside. Hill didn't make a good start and was at the back, his bike sounded very bad as the Devils re-take the lead.

Heat 15: Hughes, Simmons, Simmonds, Hopwood 2-4; 45-48, 70.5
Line-up: Hopwood, Simmons, Simmonds, Hughes
Comments: Devils win the toss and go off 2 and 4. Updaters note: Im shocked Seemond isn't in this one!! Hughes gets a flyer off the outside which prompts chants of "Are you Seemond in disguise" from the crowd! (Must have been the advice Seemond passed on to Kyle from trackside before the race started)! Simmons round Hughes on back straight before Hughes re-passed the Islanders number 1 round the outside of bend 4 lap 1, which is how it stayed. Hopwood at the back! Good race to finish a good nights racing.

Comments:
Teams now confirmed from trackside.
Ref is Dave Watters
Anyone of the Islanders team can take a rider replacement ride for Chris Johnson.
Weather is sunny and it has been a glorious day on the Island today.
Track looks good, nicely damp, although Buck Rogers thinks it will dust up a little later.
18:25 - Riders currently doing their track walk.
19:15 - Bikes warming up and the sun has gone down, so no blinding the riders on the 3rd bend!
I have just been informed the ref has won the raffle!! Fix if you ask me! lol
The ref is now getting abuse...for winning the raffle lol. All deserved in Buck Rogers humble opinion.
Big thankyou to Buck Rogers for the excellent updates and to you for watching! Well done the Devils!! Good Night!
