Heat Results
Devils win the toss and take 1 and 3
Heat 01: Simmonds, Smethills, Dallaway, Anderson 5-1, 51.78
Line Up: Mark Simmonds, Lee Smethills, Jake Anderson,R/R Lewis Dallaway
Comments: Dallaway takes the r/r ride. Even gate by the Devils pair and Anderson but good team riding by the Plymouth pair kept Anderson out wide on the opening turns. Anderson chased for a couple of laps before getting bend 1 of lap 3 all wrong, nearly hit the fence in the process and did well to stay on. After that it was plain sailing for the Devils pair. Good team riding!!

Heat 02: Pickard, Branford, Berwick, Morris 4-2; 9-3, 53.91
Line Up: Dan Berwick, Jaimie Pickard, Nick Morris, Robert Branford
Comments: Morris had bike problems before the start and had to frantically jump on his second bike after his first bike gave up on him on the start line. However Craneman said his second bike didn't sound right! Hitmen gated but were all over the place! Morris' bike clearly wasnt right and after gating he found himself at the back fairly quickly. Pickard passed Branford on the 1st and 2nd bends of lap 2.

Heat 03: C.Wright, Starke, M.Wright, Dallaway 3-3; 12-6, 52.62
Line Up: Paul Starke, Matt Wright, Lewis Dallaway, Charles Wright
Comments: Starke on his second bike after his first one sounded awful according to Craneman. Hitmen gated and Charles Wright was away at the front. Both Devils passed Dallaway with ease but were never going to catch Charles Wright who Craneman thinks looked stylish and could take some beating tonight.

Heat 04: Stephens, Pickard, Branford, Allott 5-1; 17-7, 53.84
Line Up: Seemond Stephens, Jaimie Pickard, Adam Allott, Robert Branford
Comments: Devils gated but Branford wound it on and exiting turn 2 on lap 1 found himself in between the 2 Devils riders. Stephens who made a slight mistake on the outside of the opening turns took the lead down the back straight with his partner Pickard in 2nd. Branford though was all over Pickard for 2 laps, but then as he tried hard to pass, started to make mistakes and allowed Pickard to pull away. Good ride by Pickard but Branford looks a good young rider. Allott was awful at the back and looked slow!!

Heat 05: Starke, Branford, Wright, Anderson 4-2; 21-9, 51.78
Line Up: Paul Starke, Matt Wright, Jake Anderson,R/R Robert Branford
Comments: Branford takes the r/r ride for the Hitmen. Branford gated!! Starke passed the young Hitman on turn 1 of lap 2. Wright then pressed Branford and tried to pass him around the outside of turn 4 of lap 2 but the young Aussie held his line and did very well. Anderson clearly having bike problems at the back.

Heat 06: Simmonds, Smethills, Morris, Allott 5-1; 26-10, 53.88
Line Up: Mark Simmonds, Lee Smethills, Adam Allott, Nick Morris
Comments: Devils gated and that was that! Smethills looks a different rider than he has so far this season for the Devils, credit to Morris though who is clearly a talent and was closing on Smethills towards the end of the race and had a good go!!

Heat 07: Stephens, WRIGHT, Dallaway, Berwick 3-5; 29-15, 53.13
Line Up: Seemond Stephens, Dan Berwick, Lewis Dallaway, Charles Wright
Comments: Wright on a tactical for the Hitmen. Stephens wins from the gate, but Wright chased for all 4 laps. Craneman reckons Wright looked quicker and if he had switched to the outside line may have passed the Devils skipper. Berwick well off the pace and looked very poor at the back, Dallaway tried to give him 3rd place by making a huge error and nearly stopped dead, but Berwick was too far behind to pass him.

Heat 08: Pickard, Branford, Morris, Smethills 3-3; 32-18, 53.28
Line Up: Lee Smethills, Jaimie Pickard,R/R Nick Morris, Robert Branford
Comments: Morris is the r/r for the Hitmen. Smethills goes from hero to zero as he totally missed the gate and was left behind. Pickard was strong between the 2 Hitmen on the opening turn and looked good out front. Smethills seemed to give up after the 1st bend and didnt look that interested, even though Craneman thinks he could have caught the 2 Buxton boys.

Heat 09: Starke, Allott, Morris, Wright 3-3; 35-21, 52.88
Line Up: Paul Starke, Matt Wright, Adam Allott, Nick Morris
Comments: Allott jet propelled from the tapes, but Starke around the boards on the opening 2 turns to lead down the back straight of the opening lap. After that he was never challenged. Morris in 3rd was comfortable even though he didn't look that quick, but Wright was woeful at the back and isn't justifying an average of 6.71! So far Craneman thinks the score is slightly flattering for the Devils.

Heat 10: Simmonds, Wright, Smethills, Dallaway (ret) 4-2; 39-23, 53.03
Line Up: Mark Simmonds, Lee Smethills, Lewis Dallaway, Charles Wright
Comments: Wright and Simmonds break evenly from the tapes, but the Devils number 1 hustled and bustled around the outside to lead entering the back straight of the opening lap. Simmonds then had to ride a good race as Wright pushed him hard for all 4 laps. Dallaway didn't get off the start line!

Heat 11: Stephens, BRANFORD, Berwick, Anderson 4-4; 43-27, 53.41
Line Up: Seemond Stephens, Dan Berwick, Jake Anderson,R/R Robert Branford
Comments: Branford takes the r/r ride and is in black and white. Stephens gated but Branford kept him honest and has looked really good tonight. Bizarre incident on the 1st turn though as Anderson who was lying 2nd at the time, stopped claiming he saw a red light but then realised it was in the crowd, so chased hard but to no avail.

Heat 12: Re-run x2: Starke, Morris, Pickard 4-2; 47-29, 53.65
Line Up: Paul Starke, Jaimie Pickard,Lewis Dallaway, Nick Morris
Comments: Stopped as Dallaway takes a tumble on the 1st turn. All 4 back. Re-run: Stopped again! Starke leading with morris in second at the time. But a scrap going on between Dallaway and Pickard at the back. Pickard then ran into the 3rd bend on lap 2 a bit hot and hit Dallaway causing him to fall. Somehow though the ref must have seen something Craneman didn't as Dallaway is discluded! Strange decision!! Re-runx2: Morris gated and led for 3 laps with Starke all over him trying inside and outside. morris held him off brilliantly before making a slight mistake exiting bend 4 on lap 3, which Starke took advantage of, passing him up the inside. Great race though! Craneman wishes Plymouth had reserves like the Hitmen do as they are both cracking young riders and have big futures in the sport (shame they're not British ) although credit to Jaimie Pickard who has had a good night!

Heat 13: Stephens, Simmonds, Anderson, Allott 5-1; 52-30, 53.75
Line Up: Mark Simmonds, Seemond Stephens, Jake Anderson, Adam Allott
Comments: Team riding exhibition from the Devils pair. Stephens out front with Simmonds watching Anderson's every move. Allott again displaying that if he doesn't gate he ends up nowhere!!

Heat 14: Re-run: Pickard, Branford, Berwick 4-2; 56-32, 54.19
Line Up:Matt Wright Jaimie Pickard, Dan Berwick, Charles Wright, Robert Branford
Comments: Stopped! Carnage on the 3rd bend as Charles Wright who was leading came to grief and dropped his bike. Matt Wright couldn't avoid him and hit Charles before flying over him and into the fence. Branford laid his bike down well. Both Hitmen up and ok, but Matt Wright still down. Charles Wright is discluded. Matt Wright is up now and walking back to the pits but looks like he is struggling and is limping. Matt Wright not able to take his place in the re-run so Pickard replaces him. Re-run: Brilliant 1st turn from Pickard who wound it on to leave Branford for dead. The young Aussie chased but Pickard was too good!! Just been announced that Pickard is man of the match and rightly so as he has been quality tonight!

Heat 15: Stephens, Morris, Branford, Starke (fell) 3-3; 59-35, 53.68
Line-up: Seemond Stephens, Paul Starke, Nick Morris, Robert Branford
Comments: Hitmen off 1 and 3. Stephens gated before Starke joined him up front exiting bend 2 on the opening lap. Devils on a comfortable 5-1 until Starke's chain came off on bend 3 of lap 2 causing him to fall. Both Hitmen did well to miss him. Starke managed to get his bike off the track though.
