Heat Results
Heat 01: Starke, Wilson, Widman, Williamson (Fx) 3-3
Line Up: Starke, Williamson, Wilson, Widman
Comments: Stopped, but what a lap! Stoke gate on a 5-1. Matt goes from last off turn 2 to level for the lead off 4. Starke from last in to turn 3 leads over the line as the the other 3 are level into lap 2. Williamson slips off turn 1/2and Widman lays it down. Williamson excluded.
Re-run: Wilson gates but Starke passed him in double quick time to win by a mile.

Heat 02: Perry, Phillips, Kirby, Shuttleworth (5-1) 8-4
Line Up: Perry, Phillips, Shuttleworth, Kirby
Comments: Perry by a mile. Phillips not challenged but kept honest. Was drifting wide on most corners which allowed Kirby to stay close.

Heat 03: Clegg, Hopwood, Greaves, Payne (4-2) 12-6
Line Up: Clegg, Greaves, Hopwood, Payne
Comments: Clegg made a flyer and led all the way. Hopwood got inside Greaves back straight and was reasonably close to Clegg for a couple of laps before Clegg pulled clear. Payne struggling at the back and almost binned it turn 4, lap 1.

Heat 04: Worrall, Armstrong, Phillips, Kirby (Retired) (4-2) 16-8
Line Up: Worrall, Phillips, Armstrong, Kirby
Comments: Stopped, Armstrong jumped the start. All 4 back.
Re-run: Phillips pushed Armstrong first couple of laps. Close enough to make Armstrong get a wriggle on. Kirby retired lap 1 when last.
Sponsored by Friends of Edinburgh Speedway www.foes.info/
Heat 05: Greaves, Clegg, Wilson, Widman (5-1) 21-9
Line Up: Clegg(15m), Greaves, Wilson, Widman
Comments: Stopped, Clegg straight through the tapes, and turned them into confetti! Will go off 15m.
Re-Run: What a race for the Heathens duo! Greaves worked the inside on Wilson and got passed after a couple of laps. Clegg was already third coming off turn 2, lap 1 and set off after Wilson. He somehow squeezed inside Wilson and avoided Greaves' back wheel as they all looked for the inside run off turn 4, lap 2. Wilson had a go back, but Clegg had enough drive round the outside to hold on.

Heat 06: Starke, ARMSTRONG, Williamson, Shuttleworth (4-4) 25-13
Line Up: Starke, Williamson, Armstrong - Tactical Ride, Shuttleworth
Comments: Front 2 well clear, but nowhere near each other. Williamson did a massive over slide coming off turn 2 and some how stayed on the bike. Was ranting at himself and slapped handle bars three times. He was a good 40m behind but reeled in Shuttleworth and passed him last turn.
Sponsored by
Heat 07: Worrall, Hopwood, Perry, Payne (4-2) 29-15
Line Up: Worrall, Perry, Hopwood, Payne
Comments: Worrall won by a mile. Perry missed it by a day and a half and had to get his head down. Chased down Payne and turned inside as Payne made a slight mistake. Chased after Hopwood but ran out of laps. Another turn would've made it very tight.

Heat 08: Williamson, Phillips, Kirby, Widman (5-1) 34-16
Line Up: Williamson, Phillips, Widman, Kirby
Comments: Easy win for the Heathens. Good fight between the Potters at the back. Widman tried a dive bomb in to turn 3, lap 3 but Kirby held on to take 3rd place.
Sponsored by
Heat 09: Clegg, Greaves, Armstrong, Shuttleworth (5-1) 39-17
Line Up: Clegg, Greaves, Armstrong, Shuttleworth
Comments: Clegg all the way looking classy. Greaves made a super start and looked comfortable as Armstrong went too far wide turn 3/4 lap 1, and briefly slipped to the back. Greaves then made a huge mistake bend 4, lap 2 and almost high sided. That allowed Armstrong to catch him. Armstrong was just a bike length short on the run to the line. The Heathens teenagers are beating old men all over the place (texters comment)

Heat 10: Starke, Williamson, Hopwood, Payne (Fell) (5-1) 44-18
Line Up: Starke, Williamson, Hopwood, Payne
Comments: What a gate from Williamson! He was clear of the leader for the first two and a half laps. Starke had to work hard on opening lap and a half to get around Payne. Hopwood moved into 3rd as Payne slipped off turn 3/4 lap 3. He cleared the track and got a appreciative applause. Starke went round Williamson with the latter holding on with a bit to spare.

Heat 11: Worrall, WILSON, Widman, Perry (retired) (3-5) 47-23
Line Up: Worrall, Perry, Wilson - Tactical Ride, Widman
Comments: Super gate from Wilson and moved them all out. Worrall charged hard after him and put in an outside challenge. It looked like he could go clean around Ben and go clear a couple of times but Wilson kept up the pressure. Perry started badly and had to pass Widman on lap 2. Possible contact between them coming off turn 2, lap 2 which may have caused a problem for Perry. Whatever it was they were very close, and did well to avoid a nasty crash.

Heat 12: Clegg, Hopwood, Phillips, Shuttleworth (4-2) 51-25
Line Up: Clegg, Phillips, Hopwood, Shuttleworth
Comments: Clegg by the proverbial. Phillips missed it but steamed straight passed Shuttleworth on the outside going in to turn 3, lap 1. He then set out after Hopwood. He got progressively closer but would have taken 6 laps at that closure rate.

Heat 13: Starke, Worrall, Armstrong, Wilson (5-1) 56-26
Line Up: Starke, Worrall, Wilson, Armstrong
Comments: Super race! Wilson gates first. Starke rode a good first lap to get himself to the front coming off bend 4, lap 1. Armstrong got inside Worrall at the same time and Worrall found himself boxed in behind the visitors. Wilson was then passed by Armstrong and then Worrall. Worrall then had to work Armstrong hard to get inside him. Good racing from all 4 riders.

Heat 14: Perry, Payne, Greaves, Kirby (4-2) 60-28
Line Up: Greaves, Perry, Payne, Kirby
Comments:Perry makes his best start to win with ease. Greaves missed it and just as he looked to go outside of Kirby on back straight, he found the gap too tight, and had to shut off. He lost momentum but got through coming off turn 4. He was a long way behind Payne though, but did his best to make up some ground
Sponsored by Splod
Heat 15: Clegg, Wilson, Worrall, Hopwood (4-2) 64-30
Line-up: Clegg, Worrall, Wilson, Hopwood
Comments: Cracking race to end the night. Super gate by Wilson. Clegg gave chase and got inside Wilson. Wilson was clinging on for last couple of laps with little to choose between them. Clegg got clear going in to the last lap. Worrall had a lap to make his challenge count, and almost got it, but missed out by a photo finish on the line!
