Heat Results
Heat 01: Ellis, Clegg, Kirby, Neale - Retired 2-4 60.56
Line Up: Clegg, Neale, Ellis, Kirby
Comments: Ellis all the way but Clegg pushed him very hard all the way. Got very close on bend 4 lap 3 but couldn't pass Ellis.
Sponsored by www.jaybeadesigns.co.uk/
Heat 02: Mogridge, Smith, Parkinson-Blackburn, Govier 3-3 5-7 63.47
Line Up: Mogridge, Govier, Smith, Parkinson-Blackburn
Comments: From the gate. Parkinson-Blackburn faster than Smith in 3rd. Would have been interesting if he could have passed Smith and chased.

Heat 03: Wajtknecht, Chapman, Ritchings, Neale 1-5 6-12 62.19
Line Up: Ritchings, R/R - Neale, Chapman, Wajtknecht
Comments: Neale is for rider replacement.
From the gate. Ritchings so much faster than Chapman but couldn't make the pass.

Heat 04: Perry, Williamson, Parkinson-Blackburn, Govier 2-4 8-16 61.88
Line Up: Williamson, Govier, Perry, Parkinson-Blackburn
Comments: Perry all the way. Williamson had to pass the sharp gating Parkinson-Blackburn and then showed good pace to push Perry all the way.
Sponsored by Friends of Edinburgh Speedway www.foes.info/
Heat 05: Ellis, Ritchings, Mogridge, Kirby 3-3 11-19 60.50
Line Up: Ritchings, R/R - Mogridge, Clegg, Neale
Comments: Mogridge is for rider replacement.
All the action at the back as Mogridge rounded Kirby on bend 2 lap 1 for 3rd. Kirby under Mogridge into bend 1 lap 2 for 3rd but Mogridge turned straight back and passed him again off bend 2 on the inside this time to take 3rd for the rest of the race.
Sponsored by Splod
Heat 06: Perry, Smith, Neale 1-5 12-24 64.22 (Clegg - Fell / Excluded)
Line Up: Clegg, Neale, Perry, Smith
Comments: Right. From the start. Nothing between Clegg and Perry for just over a lap as Perry put it in the dirt and Clegg charged him hard but fair up the inside. As they came off bend 2 lap 2 Clegg pulled a couple of length on Perry and moved up to cover Perry firing himself down the backstraight again. Coming off bend 4 lap 2 Clegg's bike was gripping hard into the dirt and pulling him towards the fence. As Clegg realises he's running out of time and space he tries to scrub speed but he had no chance and has hot the fence at the start of the home straight hard. Landed at the start line into lap 3 with Perry fortunately committed to the outside he missed man and machine. The other two enough back to slow and avoid it getting worse.
There was real concern for Clegg ironically as he got up too fast for a big big hit. Fellow riders start marshall and first aiders trying to get him to take a minute but he was walking away seemingly quite dazed. Fortunately he's now repeated to be okay and uninjured. Clegg is excluded from the re-run.
Re-Run: Perry all the way. Good gate for Smith and he held on although Neale was pushing increasingly as the laps passed.
Such a shame about the crash in the first running. It had been shaping up nicely.

Heat 07: Williamson, Wajtknecht, Mogridge, Chapman 4-2 16-26 63.16
Line Up: Williamson, Mogridge, Chapman, Wajtknecht
Comments: Super race but two in one. Up front Wajtknecht chased down Williamson and tried inside and outside throughout the race. Smart cut back off 4 made it a drag race to the finish line with the home man just hanging on. At the back Mogridge rode a great opening lap to get the better of Chapman having missed the start. Chapman pushed him hard all the way and was only a couple of lengths down at the finish line.

Some really heavy drizzle falling now. Might be the only thing to prevent us getting ommered.
Heat 08: Parkinson-Blackburn, Mogridge, Kirby, Neale 2-4 18-30 64.66
Line Up: Neale, MogridgeGovier, Kirby, Parkinson-Blackburn
Comments: Mogridge replaces Govier.
Brilliant ride by Parkinson-Blackburn. Mogridge gated ahead of Kirby but Parkinson-Blackburn sticks it in the dirt and rounded first Kirby off bend 4 lap 1 for 2nd then Mogridge on bend 2 lap 2 for the lead. Mogridge tried hard to get back on terms but super ride by the kid.

Heat 09: Williamson, Ritchings, Perry, Smith - Fell 5-1 23-31 63.03
Line Up: Ritchings, R/R - Williamson, Perry, Smith
Comments: Williamson is for rider replacement.
Super gate by the home pairing. Perry tried the inside for most of the race before switching to the wide outside for the last lap. Ritchings rode a good line last bend to cover Perry to take 2nd.

Heat 10: Wajtknecht, Mogridge, Chapman, Govier - Fell 2-4 25-35 63.53 (Mogridge - 2 Minutes / Excluded)
Line Up: GovierClegg, Neale - 2 Minutes Mogridge, Chapman, Wajtknecht
Comments: Govier red. So Clegg is obviously injured. Not surprised to be honest. Big crash. Hope it's nothing too serious.
Neale excluded on 2 mins which had been cancelled and not put back on by the referee. Mogridge replaces him in the re-run.
Re-Run: Good gate by Mogridge and he made Wajtknecht think about it for a couple of laps. The latter making it nice cut back off bend 4 and passing into bend 1 lap 3 for the lead.
Sponsored by
Heat 11: Ellis, Williamson, Mogridge, Kirby (Fell, Remounted) 3-3 28-38 62.00
Line Up: Williamson, Mogridge, Ellis, Kirby
Comments: Ellis almost came out to grief bend 1 as the drizzle returns. Good save and then cleared off. Mogridge did well under pressure from Kirby for a lap before the latter got it wrong off turns 3 and 4.

Clegg has a left hand injury.
Heat 12: Ritchings, Chapman, Smith, Govier 3-3 31-41 64.75
Line Up: Ritchings, Govier, Chapman, Smith
Comments: Good opening lap by Ritchings to round Chapman for the lead as the Heathens were out gated again. Govier rode a good opening lap too to pass Smith in the other battle. A couple of small errors by Govier was all the invitation. Smith needed to pounce and go clear in 3rd.

Heat 13: Ellis, Perry, Williamson, Govier - Retired 1-5 32-46 64.00
Line Up: GovierClegg, Williamson, Ellis, Perry
Comments: Govier replaces Clegg.
Williamson lifted and that was that. Showed good pace as he recovered through. Although got close briefly. Brummies looked good. Perry was roaring around in the deep dirt way out wide. Ellis had it all under control on the inside allowing Perry to come around and get clean into the next bend.

Heat 14: Wajtknecht, Mogridge, Parkinson-Blackburn 2-4 34-50 63.81 (Ritchings - Fell / Excluded)
Line Up: R/R - Ritchings, Mogridge, Wajtknecht, Parkinson-Blackburn
Comments: Ritchings is for rider replacement.
Race Stopped. Poor opening lap by Ritchings making a pigs ear of both bends. Luckily bailed out reasonably controlled rather than crashed per se. Referee left the red lights very late into with Wajtknecht into bend 3 lap 2 whole Ritchings was still mid track into bend 4. Ritchings excluded from the re-run.
Re-Run: Pretty standard from the front two. Parkinson-Blackburn tried to do a Perry on the opening lap and had me briefly concerned on bends 3 and 4. Kept it all together but lost ground. Made a fair bit up but nowhere near challenging Mogridge. Quick ward for Mogridge. He's mostly done a solid job lately with pressure on man and machine. He's regularly getting extra rides and several times he's had all 7 like today.

Heat 15: Ellis, Williamson, Perry, Ritchings 2-4 36-54 63.67
Line-up: Williamson, Ritchings, Ellis, Perry
Comments: Williamson gated a tad in front of Ellis who had to work it on the opening bend to edge the lead off bend 2. Checked out quickly after that. Perry was so wide but so fast in 3rd. He was picking up so much speed but coming from such a way back the Williamson could get up to the fence to pinch him off on every straight. Terrific action by Perry but a super ride by Williamson.
