I have been advocating limiting the nights the EL runs for years: However one night a week would probably never work out. Monday, Wednesday and Thursdays would work with goodwill by all EL & PL clubs but it would have to go hand in hand with the PL running on Friday, Saturday and Sunday.
You could work the season based on Wednesday or Thursday evenings with alternate home and away fixtures as there are so few EL matches these days.
When people complain that mid-week racing would not work; how is it that Sweden have run on a Tuesdays (EL)/Thursdays (PL) for decades successfully.

Great in theory but impractical in the real world as most clubs rent from landlords who have other interest at the venue usually

Unworkable, because of the large number of clubs operating in multiple-use stadia.

Would only work if there was no doubleup/down.

I like the idea, but as many have already stated, few clubs own their own stadium and can dictate what nights they can run speedway. Avoiding clashes with GP nights and Polish League would seem to be pre-requisites, if we are to attract top riders.

NL can slot in whenever! With three days available to each league the teams on shared usage tracks should surely be able to claim one of them.

I have just been reminded that I posted on this subject a couple of years ago but most who answered my post said that Monday, Wednesday and Thursday would not work.
