Heat 01: Simmonds, Bekker, Smethills, Day 4-2, 51.50
Line Up: Mark Simmonds, Lee Smethills, Byron Bekker, Terry Day
Comments: Even gate, but Bekker made the best 1st bend. He led until the bend 1 of lap 2 when Simmonds passed him. Smethills stuck to the white line like glue!

Heat 02: Pickard, Andrews, Berwick, Lee 4-2; 8-4, 53.63
Line Up: Dan Berwick, Jaimie Pickard, Richard Andrews, Nick Lee

Heat 03: Starke, Wright, Bates, Cottham 5-1; 13-5, 54.00
Line Up: Paul Starke, Matt Wright, Matt Bates, Gary Cottham
Comments: Even break with all 4 hitting the 1st bend together. Devils pair came out in front and that was that. Wright rode a good race to keep Bates behind him as they were close for all 4 laps, but Bates was reluctant to leave the inside line.

Heat 04: Re-runx2: Stephens, Andrews, Cockle 3-3; 16-8, 53.00
Line Up: Seemond Stephens,Jaimie Pickard, James Cockle, Nick Lee Richard Andrews
Comments: Lee demolishes the tapes and is replaced by Andrews. Re-run: Devils on a 4-2 when Pickard who was lying 3rd fell on his own on bend 3 of lap 2, up and ok but discluded. Re-runx2: From the gate for Seemond but Cockle kept him honest until his bike coughed, spluttered and gave up on the back straight of the final lap, he then cruised in for 3rd place.

Heat 06: Cockle, Simmonds, Smethills, Andrews 3-3; 22-14, 52.97
Line Up: Mark Simmonds, Lee Smethills, James Cockle, Richard Andrews
Comments: Devils gated but Cockle went straight between the two on opening bend. Craneman said it looked like Simmonds was trying to wait for Smethills and Cockle took advantage. Simmonds then gave chase for 4 laps trying everything, but Cockle did brilliantly to keep him back. Excellent race!!

Heat 07: Stephens, Bates, Cottham, Berwick 3-3; 25-17, 53.06
Line Up: Seemond Stephens, Dan Berwick, Matt Bates, Gary Cottham
Comments: From the gate. 2 races in 1, Stephens held off Bates who was never far away from the Devils skipper. Meanwhile at the back Cottham held Berwick off fairly easily. Craneman reckons Cottham looks poor but Berwick looks even worse! He needs to do a lot of work as he looks uncomfortable.

Heat 08: Re-run: Day, Pickard, Smethills 3-3; 28-20, 53.33
Line Up: Lee Smethills, Jaimie Pickard, Terry Day,Nick Lee
Comments: Stopped as Lee took a tumble on the 1st turn of 2nd lap when at the back. Up and ok though, shame for the Wildcats as Day had made a great start and was away. Re-run: Devils pair gated but Day swooped around both of them on turns 3 and 4 of lap 1. He was then away and gone although Pickard tried to give chase. Smethills was poor and off the pace, still looking a shadow of his former self. Day looks better than he ever has before at Plymouth.

Line Up: Mark Simmonds, Lee Smethills, Matt Bates, Gary Cottham

Comments: Bekker dons the black and white and goes for double points. Stephens gated but Bekker was close early on. Gradually Seemond rode further and further away. He was so far in front that even though he hit the fence on the final bend he still cruised in to win! Quality ride from the veteran. Berwick struggling and getting worse!!
