Texters Comments
Weather is bright but cool. Track looks in decent nick as usual, if a little damp.
Teams now confirmed from trackside.
Aces win toss and take gates 1 and 3
Heat 1: From the gate, but Nicholls all over Stead.
Heat 2: Fisher's engine blown on the way to the start. New bike hurried out. Fisher took third place on lap 2, the Bees are looking very slow.
Heat 3: Stunning move by Schlein on lap 1, went from last to first and Allen just held the hounding Doolan.
Heat 4: Fisher to take RR. Bomber rounded BV pair on lap 1 to win easily. Skornicki impressive in clear second.
Heat 5: Stead moving before the tapes AGAIN, but has found superb racing line. Allen lost 3rd on the final bend.
Heat 6: Skornicki takes RR. From the gate. BJ held the admirable Skornicki off well.
Heat 7: Aces gated on a 5-1 but Harris produced the move of the season to pass the Aces pair at the end of lap 1.
Digidoss says that the track has dried out quickly and the dust is really kicking up. You have to give it to the Aces - they are riding very well. Bees are gating extremely poorly too, losing far too much ground early on in the race.
Heat 8: Bees slow away but passed Skornicki on lap 1. Easy enough in the end.
Heat 9: Doolin takes RR. Skornicki as reserve replacement for Fisher. Schlein fell on the first bend when in 2nd place. Doolan won easily in the end. Bees are making hard work of this.
Heat 10: Nicholls from 3rd to 1st on the 1st lap, Janniro passed Screen on lap 2.
Digidoss says that Coventry really are looking out of sorts tonight, but match of the night coming up soon - Harris V Stead.
Heat 11: Stead on a T/R (Digidoss says that could be problematic!) Wright let Stead into second on lap 3, but Harris was miles clear. Risager nowhere.
Heat 12: From the gate. Skornicki reserve replacement ride for Fisher.
Heat 13: Skornicki takes RR. Superb riding from the Bees.
Heat 14: Fisher reserve replacement ride for Skornicki. Allen down on lap 1 and excluded from re-run. Being attended to by medical staff. From the gate.
Heat 15: Nicholls Harris Doolan Stead
Aces win the toss and take gates 1&3. Harris never more than 5mm behind Stead and took second on lap 2. Stead EF on lap 3.
Academy League racing - Cougars V Colts
Heat 1: Josh Auty (BV), Richard Franklin (C), Tom Hill (BV), Daniel Halsey (C) F 2-4 (2-4)
Halsey leading into lap 4 but fell and took out Auty. Race awarded.
Heat 2: Ben Hopwood (BV), Scott Richardson (BV), Lee Blackbird (C), Kyle Hughes (C) 1-5 (3-9)
Heat 3: Daniel Halsey (C), Ben Hopwood (BV), Scott Richardson (BV), Richard Franklin (C) 3-3 (6-12)
Heat 4: Josh Auty (BV), Kyle Hughes (C), Lee Blackbird (C), Tom Hill (BV) 3-3 (9-15)
Pretty quick time at 62.6.
Heat 5: Kyle Hughes (C), Scott Richardson (BV), Tom Hill (BV), Richard Franklin (C) 3-3 (12-18)
Hughes won easily.
Daniel Halsey (C), Lee Blackbird (C), Josh Auty FX (BV), Ben Hopwood FX (BV) 5-0 (17-18)
Race awarded after 2 seperate falls.
Final score Cougars 17 - Colts 18 and on aggregate: Cougars 39 - Colts 30.
Thanks to Digidoss for the texts and good night all.
