Heat Results
Heat 01: JPB, Perry, Harris, Cuppitt - Retired. 3-3 56.5
Line Up: Perry, Harris, JPB, R/R - Cuppitt
Comments: JPB with a super start and Heathens couldn't get near him. Encouraging gate by Harris as he stayed as close to Perry as Perry could get to JPB
Sponsored by www.jaybeadesigns.co.uk/
Heat 02: Re-Run: Dwyer, Hampshire, Bowen, Spooner 4-2 7-5 58.1
Line Up: Dwyer, Bowen, Spooner, Hampshire
Comments: Stopped. Spooner has jumped it and tempted the rest through with him. Tapes annihilated. Hampshire almost had his head taken off. I'll be surprised if hes got away without a nasty burn.
Re-Run: Dwyer and Bowen away, Bowen immediately almost straight into the fence. A feat he repeated seven more times. Spooner followed him once and only avoided the fence and Bowen recovered some sort of control and Spooner clipped his back wheel. Spooner somewhat shaky. Last lap Hampshire nearly fenced himself and rolled the last half lap. Other than that I dont know how to describe what was four of the most terrifying laps you'll ever see at professional level

Heat 03: Bacon, Hall, Dwyer, Cupitt F/X 3-3 10-8 AWARDED
Line Up: R/R - Dwyer, Hall, Cuppitt, Bacon
Comments: Brummies were sharp away. Took Hall lap and a half to shake off Cupitt, which is a lap and a half longer than what it should. Bacon twitched which is better than his usual roll Rode a super race. Well clear up front. Hes a good visitor here, which is why I said in the winter i'd have looked to sign him

Heat 04: Carr, Spooner 0-5 10-13 57.3 (Ayres and Bowen - Fell / Excluded)
Line Up: Ayres, Bowen, Carr,Hampshire Spooner
Comments: Stopped. Another good race ruined. Ayres trying to storm around Carr on the bottom turn and has made a mistake and fallen. Ayres excluded.
Re-Run: Controversy. Just announced Hampshire can't take his place in the rerun so Spooner comes in. Didn't think you could change the race when it was under way.
Carr, Spooner eventually with his bike packing up for 3 laps... If the ref hadn't stopped it needlessly in the first place the paying customer wouldn't have endured the utter farce. Bowen NF

Heat 05: JPB, Dwyer, Hall, Hampshire 3-3 13-16 57.9
Line Up: R/R - Dwyer, Hall, JPB, R/R - Hampshire
Comments: Hall with a good start but lifted first turn and did well not to fence himself. Nearly ran into the back of Dwyer end of lap 2 into lap 3. Then try as he may he couldn't make an impact. JPB gone and looking sublime. Smelt like a clutch died a death towards the end of the race. Hampshire I suspect
Sponsored by Splod
Heat 06: Carr, Harris, Spooner, Perry EF 2-4 15-20 57.6
Line Up: Perry, Harris, Carr, Spooner
Comments: This has rapidly become a disaster for the Heathens. Carr lead but Perry tried outside for a lap then exicuted what looked a beautiful cut back off turn 4 lap 2 as Carr covered the outside. Perry turning hard threw the chain off

Heat 07: Re-Run: Bacon - only finisher. 0-3 15-23 58.2 (Bowen - Fell, Ayres and Cupitt - Excluded)
Line Up: Ayres,Dwyer Bowen, Cuppitt, Bacon
Comments: Bowen for Dwyer in a reserve switch
Stopped. Well, what a meeting for incidents. Bacon got away with a massive roller as per. Bowen fell first turn on his own. Cupitt packed up back straight but kept rolling. Bowen struggling to clear the track but this time its not stopped. Bacon and Ayres almost caught him. Should have been stopped. Then Ayres steamed under Bacon on turn one lap 2. Bacon goes down heavy, Ayres laps Cupitt who's now not under power at all just rolling and should have cleared the track because he was in the way. Still with me?! Eventually announced the race will be rerun with one rider. Ayres excluded for knocking Bacon off, Cupitt excluded for being lapped. Cupitt decision is correct but for the wrong reason. He was lapped when the red light came on but the decision has to be at the time if the incident. At that point he wasn't lapped but wasn't under power. Phew! Bloody hell its all going on. Paramedic called to the terrace. Not an area I can see from here.
Re-Run: First time he hasn't moved at the start... ever!

Heat 08: Bacon, Dwyer, Harris, Hampshire 3-3 18-26 58.1
Line Up: Harris,Bowen Dwyer, R/R - Bacon, Hampshire
Comments: Dwyer for Bowen
Massive roller. This is just a shambolic mess of a meeting. As its the school hols Im guessisng its bring your kids to work day in the refs box because surely no professional ref is this bad.

Heat 09: Carr, Hall, Spooner, Wright - Fell 2-4 20-30 59.2
Line Up: RR - Wright, Hall, Carr, Spooner
Comments: Just found out Cradley have a no.8 Sam Wright, this hasn't being mentioned all night and takes RR.
Hall with a good start and leading all the way until he rode for what a rider of his experience was an appalling last turn. Drifted out to the dence and Carr says thank you very much

Heat 10: Perry, Bacon, Harris, Cupitt - Retired 4-2 24-32 57.8
Line Up: Perry, Harris, Cuppitt, Bacon
Comments: Bacon rolling AGAIN. Cant see the ref getting out in one piece. Crowd are fuming. Brummies on a 5-1 with Cupitt leading, Perry steamed around both in one move on the park turn. Bacon hard under Cupitt trying to hold Perry off. As I say Cupitt just pulled up

Heat 11: Dwyer, Ayres, JPB, Hampshire - EF 5-1 29-33 58.3
Line Up: Ayres, Dwyer, JPB, R/R - Hampshire
comments: What a race. Ayres jumped it if im honest but only half made it. Dwyer away, Ayres got there second but not clear. JPB had a run on him. Somehow Ayres steamed down the backstraight to hold JPB then scrubbed his speed not to run into Dwyer. Dwyer rode a stormer to lead all the way. Fantastic by Ayres to protect him particually the first two laps before it settled down. One way or another what a meeting. We've had everything thats good, bad and indifferent in the sport. And say what you like about poor referring and things going against your team generally but it doesn't half make for an atmosphere on the terrace. Get the naysayers here and tell me again how British Speedway is dead on its ar*e

Heat 12: Dwyer, Harris, Cupitt, Spooner 5-1 34-34 59.4

Dwyer away. Harris went with him. And the boys made no mistake
Sponsored by
Heat 13: Carr, Ayres, Perry, JPB 3-3 37-37 57.9
Line Up: Perry, Ayres, JPB, Carr
Comments: What a race. What a meeting. Brummies flew away. Ayres and Perry nowhere from the start. Ayres set sail and reeling them in. Stormed under JPB turn 2 lap 2. Got after Carr. All over him throughout. Perry came from nowhere to steam around JPB turn 1/2 last lap. Last turn Ayres turned back on Carr and the charge to the line saw Carr hold on by half a length. Level. 2 to go. *gulp*

Heat 14: Hall, Bacon, Hampshire, Dwyer 3-3 40-40 59.3
Line Up: Hall, Dwyer, Bacon, Hampshire
Comments: I reiterate. WHAT A MEETING. Hall away but he cant hug the kerb so was under severe pressure all the way to the flag. Dwyer looked like holding 3rd but Hampshire found something out of Kelvin's top drawer coming off turn 4 last lap. He found sudden speed from nowhere and took it on the fence from Dwyer by a tyre width!
Sponsored by Splod
Heat 15: Carr, Perry, Ayres, Bacon 3-3 43-43 57.8
Line-up: Ayres, Perry, Bacon, Carr
Comments: Bacon with ANOTHER roller. Utter shambles that hes got away with it all night. Clean ride by Carr. He's been superb. Ayres and Perry had to work it to get past Bacon. Got tight between Bacon and Ayres as Bacon on the inside almost had Ayres. Just about got away with it without them tangling. Didn't stop some afters between the two at the pit entry after the race. Perry threw it all in but was never making up enough ground early enough. Tried a cutback last turn and got closer but Carr had enough in hand. So an unconventional draw. If you're a neutral thats meeting of the season.
Ayres is fuming with himself for a dreadful night overall. Rather than swear infront of the kids, hes suggested not talking to him right not in the after meeting interviews. Fair play to the guy though, he's trudged off to the pits but still stopped for photos and signatures with the kids.
