Comments: Great ride by Worrall to gate, move out and outpace Cook off B2, and he rode a mid-track line up front. Cook charged hard on a tighter line, although he didn't get close enough to really challenge. Ayres going high and wide, and then had to settle down at the back.

Kerr started well and squeezed Nicholls on back straight - Nicholls did a nice cut-back off B4 L1 to pass Kerr to take the win. Battling effort by Bickley who kept Newman honest challenging on the inside for three laps.

Comments: Race Stopped. Kerr emerged in the lead off B2, with Wright squeezing between Worrall (outside) and Starke, but Starke clips Wright and tumbles big time down the back straight. Wright excluded. Starke up and walking back to pits - phew!
Re-Run: Starke wearing Bickley's helmet, and then is loaned Bickley's bike when his own drops the rear chain on way to start. Keer from the start, and rides strong line to hold off all of Worrall's attempts. Starke rode a steady race - must be so battered and bruised!

Comments: First faulty start of the night - Auty given a warning.
Re-start: Another entertaining heat. Lawson alongside Ayres off B2 L1, but Auty charges inside both of them into B3. Ayres regains the lead, and holds on grimly until back straight last lap, when Auty came alongside on the inside, and dominated the final bends. Neither Auty or Ayres looked fully in control - Lawson preferred to remain a spectator.
King 11, Cook 10, Worrall 9. Harris, Wright and Kerr 8. Break for track grading, and two-on-the-trot Auty.

Comments: Danny Ayres!!!! Flew from gate four, and although Harris went up the inside of B3 L1, Ayres rode the deep stuff with left leg trailing in dramatic style to lead ... until B3/4 last lap when he picked up so much grip it looked like a disaster - except Ayres somehow held on to his bucking and rearing machine while Harris went past for the win. Remarkable stuff!

Comments: Rather dull after Heat 19 - King took it from the start, to guarantee his place in the final.
