Comments: Close heat with all four riders making a good start. Howarth had a slight lead until both Bears overtook him with Rowe on the outside and Allen on the inside. Howarth got past Allen on the third lap

Comments: Heat was re run because of an unsatisfactory start with MPT being told to sit still on the line. All four riders had a good start with the main battle between Douglas and Jenkins until the third lap when both riders fell and Thompson laid his bike down. Jenkins was excluded as the cause of the accident.
