Comments: Good gate from Lawson to get over the Kings into bend 1. Newman makes up all the ground and pulls a good pass on Morley round the outside of bend 2 lap 3.

Heat 02: Gilkes, Kemp, Ablitt, Mulford (retired) 3-3 (5-7) 58.5
Line Up: Mulford, Gilkes, Kemp, Ablitt
Comments: Gilkes gated, Kemp had a sniff off bend 2 but couldn't pull a pass. Ablitt gets gifted 3rd as Mulford was comfortable in 3rd until his bike started slowing into lap 3 and he pulled up on the back straight.

Heat 03: Brennan, Starke, Kennett, Heeps 2-4 (7-11) 57.7
Line Up: Starke, Heeps, Kennett, Brennan
Comments: Kennett gets away with a bit of a jump, Brennan superbly round the outside to join him. Kennett didn't know and Brennan somehow squeezed between him and the fence. Kennett never looking too comfortable and got out of shape and ran wide on the last two bends and Starke came through to take 2nd.

Heat 04: Kerr, Nicholls, Gilkes, Ablitt 3-3 (10-14) 57.4
Line Up: Nicholls, Gilkes, Kerr, Ablitt
Comments: Nicholls a bit slow out the start but got by Gilkes out of the 2nd bend and that was it from there. A few riders looking like they are struggling at points. Ablitt coasted round for the last lap well adrift.

Comments: Starke made the gate and gave Lawson a shove on the first bend sending him to the back. Lawson went for the dirt bends 3 and 4 lap 1 and went round Heeps. Lawson looked like he was struggling into bend 1 each time.

Comments: Kennett gated Brennan gave no room o the outside. Nicholls was quickly on Kennett's tail and was all over the back of him for the whole race putting in a great challenge and a good cut back off the last bend to steal the win on the line. The texter thought that Kennett had held on.

Comments: Kings gate on a 5-1 and they trade places for the first lap and a half. Newman superbly under Gilkes off bend 4 lap 2. He then sets after Morley and nearly gets him coming out of bend 2 on the last lap. Great race, Ablitt was a way behind. Morley packed up after the race.

Comments: Morley fails to make the 2 minute allowance and will be replaced by Gilkes. From the gate. Gilkes close to Kennett for a lap. Batchelor's helmet colour nearly came off during the race and was flapping like a bird.

Comments: Both teams switch their reserves. Eagles gated and kicked on for a 5-1. The passing was between the Kings, Gilkes under Heeps entering lap 2 and Heeps then back under him entering lap 3.

Comments: Kings take gates 2 & 4. Kerr gated but Starke gotthe better of him off of bend 4 lap 1. Nicholls put the hammer down and was all over Kerr and pulled a superb pass coming off of bend 4 lap 3. Great ride! Brennan had a bad start and never recovered. Great race there.
